Friends of Thorpe Woodlands - petition against proposal to build 300 houses over this Wildlife Site

I think the woods will be fine without houses and wildlife does not need roads

Thorpe Woods are established woodland of ecological importance. There are other sites nearby more suited to housing development. There is a need to preserve woodland, both for environmental and amenity benefits.

This project would be the end to the wonderful wildlife that lives in these woods. Houses would be an intrusion.
There are not enough services to support the project, IE. Schools and Doctors.
The extra traffic would bring longer queues than there are at present. This project must be refused at all levels.

The infrastructure cannot support the development.

Stop destroying places for wildlife to thrive! We have a responsibility to keep places like this safe for all wildlife and people who enjoy it alike! Don't let greed win!

I went to school in the 1970's to Thorpe House and my childhood was enriched by playing in the woodlands in this area. Please save this woodland and don't destroy it to benefit a few developers desire to get richer!

The woodlands are vital to wildlife. They are also our children's heritage - we cannot destroy them. Once they're gone, that's it - no going back. Protect them for our children!

We need more green spaces, not less!

Because I love animals and it is there home too. Not just humans.

We are human we need trees more than housing and profiteering companies ,trees help humans live.

There are far to many green/wooded spaces being destroyed and built on with overpriced rabbit hutched sized housing. We need the green spaces to. There are plenty of Brown field sites ready to be built on use them first.

Use of land for development does not seem appropriate when other brown locations available. Invaluable contribution of woods to community and wildlife

Lets use common sense - we cannot have uncontrolled house building in a society that does not have sufficient resources along with continued government cutbacks. We also need green spaces for ourselves and the precious wildlife. This proposed development is for greed and nothing more. It would have a negative impact on the local population and struggling wildlife. Sign the petition for the sake of your own quality of life.

We have enough housing in our area and not enough green spaces. More houses means more traffic on the roads, more demand she on local GPs , schools, buses etc and we don't have the structure to support more people.

The destruction of woodland is not acceptable. Use brownfield sites or areas where development has already taken place.

I dont want the woodland being destroyed. There are more than enough new houses being proposed in Thorpe St Andrew. The roads, schools, doctors are already overcrowded.

Because we are losing so much of our countryside and which many people enjoy.If you have to build use land of old buildings eg factories,unused land.

Old big trees cannot be replaced by young saplings. The old trees not only look beautiful they host numerous wildlife.

Woodlands are one of the UKs rarest habitats. We need to protect them and expand them not build houses on them.

To register a protest at the potential development of ecologically important woodland.

because they have been trying this on for years and I've always objected as this contains ancient woodland and should be preserved.

To save precious woodland. Plenty of brown sites around. Enough traffic congestion on Plumstead Road all ready and lack of Dr's Dentist etc especially with all the extra homes being built down and ruining Woodside Rd!

I signed because we are losing too much woodland and natural habitats.I live near part of the NDR and have seen the destruction first hand not to mention the effects of the dust on our lungs and am also aware there will be mass house building all around that road including land , Beeston , between Wroxham Road and North Walsham Road!It seems the whole thing was an excuse for a massive house building project but not for Social needs! We are desparately of overstretched in this area with facilities such as schools and doctors ect not to mention the extra cars and lack of a decent bus service this side of Sprowston, how much more can we be expected to take? There is also talk of building 700 hundred houses in Catton before any thought is even to be given to any extra schools or doctors! It is also proposed eventually to use the Park and Ride on Wroxham Road to build a school on .Where is it all going to end and why isn't the Council protecting the Tax payers interests instead of lining the developers pockets?!

I live in Thorpe St Andrew and treasure the countryside. There are plenty of other sites to build on.

What a shame it would be to loose a beautiful wildlife area all for the sake of building. Surely there are far more eligible building sites.
