Name Fundraising: Keep ABU Ambassadeur Swedish!

We turn to you, passionate anglers, collectors and enthusiasts from around the world, to seek your support in an important matter.

The ABU Garcia factory in Svängsta, Sweden, where the iconic Record and Ambassadeur reels have been manufactured since 1952, is now threatened with closure. Pure Fishing and its owner, Sycamore Partners in the USA, plan to move production to China and relocate storage and service operations to Poland.

ABU’s history, dating back to 1939, is defined by unique Swedish craftsmanship and outstanding quality. Every Ambassadeur reel is hand-assembled and appreciated by anglers and collectors worldwide. This legacy must not be lost.

Our Demand

We strongly oppose the decision to move the production of Ambassadeur reels out of Sweden. We demand that this tradition of Swedish craftsmanship is preserved and that production remains in Svängsta, where it belongs.

Refrain from purchasing products from Pure Fishing if production is moved abroad.
