I went to Ireland in october 2013. i made an internship for four weeks in cork. my friends flew to Dublin and then would have to take the bus. I flew directly to Cork. I would like to take my next ireland travel not to sit for hours in the bus until I arrive in Cork

Cork is a regional airport, and it's vital for industry and tourism. No politician can say they're serious about development if they vote to shut down Cork Airport.

As the second city of Ireland it is a disgrace that the management of Cork Airport , and Aer Lingus , have not done more to promote and supply services for the Cork region.

I emigrated from Cork 28 years ago when their were no jobs. In those days you went on the cork swansea ferry, because flights were so expensive. After the ferry went, my onlyroute home was through Cork Airport. Shannon or Dublin are too far when travelling to or from Clonakilty. West Cork will be cut off without the airport. I still return home several times a year.

I agree, the Dublin centric view of our TD's is going to end with all international businesses being forced to base themselves in Dublin. The next step will be to shut UCC, infavour of all students going to Dublin Colleges. And then we need to spend all taxes on roads and infrastructure in and out of Dublin, before long Cork and Kerry will become a wasteland, with only dole refugees keeping the shops afloat.

Every person who has signed this needs to pass the petition link to 5  Friends to sign as well. If we cannot  get more signatures, and more peopleusing the Airport we will lose it. And once it is gone we will lose many big employers also.

We all need to choose flights from Cork even when slightly less convienient than flights from Dublin. In fact people from Munster should boycott Dublin Airport, and make connections from Cork via London, Birmingham, Manchester, paris, or Amsterdam to the rest of the world. If we stuck to our guns on such a boycott, other airlines would in time commit to Cork, knowing that there was local commitment to use a service here.

I am from Cork, so is my husband. We fly in to visit with family. If there were more flights into Cork, we would probably utilize it more. Instead, in recent years the flights into and out of Cork are getting less. It's getting to the point where it is cheaper and easier to go into Shannon or Dublin and get a bus or train to Cork. I would love to fly into Cork.

Living in London , Family in Cork , we are always flying back and forth to each ... The closing of Cork airport would be tragic for people travelling to that part of the country. If I have to fly to Dublin I will definitely not make the journeys as frequently as I do .

For me, a Dutchman living in West Cork, is a direct connection to Amsterdam very important. Traveling via Dublin, as in the past, is far from nice. Expensive, time consuming etc.

It's a lovely airport within a short drive of Cork City, so bright and modern. I feel it should be utilised far more as often when I pass through it, the place looks desolated with very few passengers.
