A union president is supposed to work specifically for the group they're elected to represent. Ms. Cladding has shown she is no longer interested in fulfilling that bargain with the flight attendants; she should voluntarily step down and preserve the last shred of dignity she has left. Thank you.

Glading is a selfish delusional egomaniac without remorse, conscience or regret. Her high and mighty attitude and elbow rubbng with the corporate elite have emotionally removed her from any direct connection to her membership. She has said, as is available on an "informational roadshow video ", that she doesn't read or respond to the numerous emails she receives. Quote: "I don't care. I don't care about that sh*t". Yes, she's quite the professional.

She might be a sociopath.

She has abused her office, pilferred the coffers of our hard earned dues for an inflated salary which she voted herself a raise to, while the rest of us where clipping coupons, flying an ungodly amount of hours to make ends meet,  (and to try to catch up with the rising cost of living), and has violated the sacred oath a true union president takes unto themselves to serve, protect and inform.

The APFA headquarters being located in Texas in much too close proximity to the management, lends itself to the comaraderie between the two which is in direct conflict to the membership. Cocktail parties, attending VIP weddings ad nauseum are the ingredients for power and greed, a very difficult temptation to resist.

She is a liar.

Her ego has taken her to our nation's capitol, where she fancied herself a sort of senator, lavishing in 5 star hotels and a very generous expense account. She imagined her current position as a catapult to the glories of those political halls.

She has always remained unapproachable, inacessible and indifferent to the needs of those that pay her this very generous salary.  She has remained secretive, hiding her true intentions with ploys, delays and misleading information to make under the table deals so she can ingratiate herself even more.

With the recent defeat of her so called "industry leading contract", (which she deemed unecesary to inform the membership about in detail and with enough time prior to voting), she has shown her true colors in her released heart wrenching statement. My God, the woman is devastated.  We have ruined her plans. How dare we.  She may learn now that her uselfullness to the company's expiration date has arrived. She is also no longer an effective negotiator or go between for us since her credibility has been destroyed with the lies she has been caught in.

She betrayed us.

I for one, am relieved the veil of this impostor has been removed. The Masquerade is over.

Please Glading, resign as quickly as possible without your undeserved perks and unlimited positive space flying for life. Good grief, this union needs an intense colonic cleansing.

The ugliness of our current state of affairs is only matched to her ugliness, she is quite ugly.

WE ALL NEED TO DO A LITTLE SELF HELP HERE. THE COMPANY IS NEVER GOING TO GIVE IN DO TO OUR IN HOUSE UNION AND ELECTED (PRO COMPANY) OFFICIALS. WE NEED TO DO A SICK OUT ON SPECIFIC DAYS AT CERTAIN BASES. REALLY!!!!! THE WORST THAT CAN HAPPEN IS THAT THEY SUE OUR UNION AND BUST THE BANK AND SHUT THEM DOWN OR(MAYBE THATS A GOOD THING) WE HAVE BEEN EATING CROW FOR THE LAST 15YRS TIME FOR SELF HELP. WE NEED A LITTLE CHAOS TO SHOW THEM AND OUR IN HOUSE UNION THAT WE MEAN BUSSINESS AND WE ARENT PLYING ANYMORE. I HAVE ALOT OF EMAILS BACKING THIS IDEA FROM OTHERS. When I see comments here relating to seniority I can only assume they are made by ex-TWA flight attendants.   As an airline employee since 1982, here is my take on that.

 

Apfa did not fuck you over.............TWA fucked you over.   Your strike in the mid 1980's was a dismal failure.  I know.....I was around when it happened and was in the news.   In the mid 1980's, United, American, and Delta were expanding rapidly and hiring large numbers of flight attendants, as Pan Am, TWA and Eastern were crumbling.   Instead of leaving TWA after your dismal failure of a strike, you chose to stay.   You made a mistake.  If you hired on with another airline in the mid eighties, you would have almost 30 years of seniority.   Maybe some of you did interview with other airlines but didn't make the cut, given your lousy attitude.   I know.  I interviewed and was hired by United in 1991.  There were Pan Am flight attendants at the cattle call who thought they were royalty.   Needless to say, they didn't make it.   After American purchased bankrupt TWA, you got top pay, vacation accrual, and every other aspect of seniority except bidding.   In no way were you entitiled to date of hire seniority.  I'll concede you might have gotten 1 year at American for every 3 years at TWA.  But then you should have only gotten that pay scale as well.  Not full pay.   I believe that's what the Pan Am battle axes got when they went with Delta.

 

Life is unfair, make the best of it, stop complaining......get over it, and yourselves.  You are not as fabulous as you think you are.

 Very few TWA people on this petition. It is the real AA people who are realizing that Glading and APFA is not a real union...they

don't care anyone but themselves. Regarding TWA, APFA did not negotiate in good faith as required by the bankrupcy judge. APFA was unfair to the Flight Attendants who were also union members...brothers and sisters. What good was top pay when there was a 6 year job loss?  Karma!!!!

 I'm a principled, bottom line person, that takes responsibility for my own life, and my own actions.  I don't sit around and blame everyone else and everything for my unhappiness and disappointments in life.  Again, life is unfair.   I have had my share of problems, hurts, and mistreatments.  And I empathize( do you know what that word means?) with those who have endured the same.   But after all is said and done, you must take responsibility for youself,  and plot your own direction.   It can be hard, and frightening......but it can be done.   If Laura Gladding is a principled bottom line person, then perhaps I am a fan of hers.  I can tell, you are not a principled, bottom line person, so I am no fan of yours.

Real Leaders require trust from the ones who elected and trusted in them to represent and fight for the values and principles thath govern their interests.
When theses values as core are in negotiations, we easy can lose iidententy, to not say dignity .
When the trust is not more there, no matter how laud you try to scream or even create a new label....
But if character still there, the best is to steep down, and get out,; soo the union can move on and restore our iidententy and values.
