The siting of these compounds so close to active runways is not necessary. It brings increased risk both on take off and landing.
They can surely be positioned elsewhere.

I object to what appears to be a determined effort to close the airfield by location of buildings / towers at the end of a runway. As a pilot i would find this to be a dangerous threat to my life

Small airfields have existed for so long in our country, and we have such an envious heritage of aviation, that to do anything to disrupt the operation of such fields leaves us historically much poorer. Such airfields need to be celibrated, not obstructed.

Another small community of fellow pilots threatened by conglomerate companies thinking they can get their on way.

I think if this goes ahead then we will lose all of the history for the area and another great airfield. I say keep the airfields and get rid of wind farms.

I feel that our local planning departments along with central government need to do more to protect our small airfields and promote aviation. This is an industry that supports people of all ages and creates jobs and opportunity and I believe this needs protecting!

Because we need to support all General Aviation airfields. There is no Government encouragement. Only grass roots support. This needs to change.

This is an important part of our heritage. The Airfield helped save us from the Nazis and then defend us in the Cold War.

Please save it as a flying site.

Absolutely critical that we do not lose this historic airfield.

Just getting. Annoyed at the constant desruction of our general aviation industry by large corporate companies

It is easier for Smart to change route.

Lots of room elsewhere for windmills. There is no need for the these companies to impact everyone else for their own profit.

Aviator and Aircraft owner interested in keeping as many airfields open as possible. Too many have closed in the last few years.

Wind farms and aviation don't have a habit of mixing. There are already too many wind farms destroying the environment and views in the UK in my opinion.

Wind farms are a tax payer- funded anachronism that should not be allowed to impinge on existing activities

I used to be based at NC and on a return visit some years later (2004 I think) was welcomed by a member of the club who took me for a flight in his Piper Cherokee. I was very touched by this kind gesture and, as a keen pilot myself (gliders - sorry power pilots) am also very keen to see such an amazing little airfield with such an important history, preserved as an aviation site. Good luck to the club.

I very much hope that an accommodation can be found. Whilst I wholeheartedly support green energy and windfarms in particular, I feel that where possible compromises ought to be possible.

#196 destroying our countryside

2015-06-26 03:50

We are  destroying  our countryside  views with inefficient  wind turbines by profit only companies and a government  that can only see a revenue  stream!

Far too many historic RAF airfields are facing similiar scenarios to that at North Coates. General Aviation creates employment in rural areas and deserves full support from the Local Planning Authority to ensure continued and safe flying operations!

It is not right to build a safety hazard for flying adjacent to an airfield when so much other suitable land exists.
