It is important we help those less fortunate than ourselves but before we can do that we should and must ensure that all those wishing to give are safe and not needing themselves.

It is about time this government takes a long ,hard look at overseas aid & withdraw money from countries that do not use the aid to help pay for education, health care etc.

Charity should start at home and our British weather has caused havoc and heartache.

It is incredible how much the UK fund the rest of the world where those funds are not really needed. Resources now invested in extensive UK flood prevention, as the Dutch have done since 1953, will remove the trauma and disruption of flooding.

Our Government should start thinking of there own instead of giving aid to countries that don't need it.

The £11bn spent on foreign aid is for just this kind of disaster, where is the difference in whether here in the UK or for a foreign country, help is urgently needed.

We help a lot of the world in times of trouble. Who is helping us.? The aid fund should be used to help our people. If not lots of people will cease to give to other counties.

How does David Cameron remain standing upright without a spine and that goes for all MP's of all parties including MEP's they are all on the gravy train allegedly fiddling their expenses etc:? "We are all in it together" NO WE ARE NOT. MP's are not on the same planet as the rest of us but are bleeding us dry financially the good old tax payer. Charity begins at home, get your priorities right Mr Cameron and get our country free from debt and then distribute monies left to overseas aid. Support your own country before others.

We are no longer one of the richest powerful countries in the world. I am proud to be British and give help whenever disaster strikes. Our people need some help now to get back to their homes not help India with their space programme or dictators to live a wealthy life when their people are dying of hunger.

We need to be more proactive in protecting our own citizens. The british people are very generous with their donations when disasters hit in other countries, have any other countries help us in our hour of need! It is morally wrong to send money to countries where this money is often diverted into bureaucrats pockets or inane projects like 4million for Ethiopia' s version of the spice girls, and there are many more like this. We need to build flood defences, it can be done the Dutch have been doing it for years. Put our own citizens FIRST. To be flooded out of your home has to be terrible, also costly, therefore spending money on flood defences and maintaining these defences will be cost effective in the long run.

All the money for overseas aid should be used in this country on aiding all flood victims and building substantial lasting defences around this country for the foreseeable future

This is our tax money that should be invested in our country for our people. We need this money and it should be spent where it's needed. Where flood victims and land is affected whatever money it takes to correct this disaster should be spent. We are not a charity this our country's money.

We need to use the money to help the flood victims in this country before sending cash abroad.

Can the Government also do something about getting
us free from the abominable European Court of Human Rights so we can expel all foreign criminals who are sentenced or come to this Country.

This wonderful country of ours can ill afford now to help solve other countries
problems as we have in the past.
Our rivers desperately need to be de-silted as they regularly as they were when i was a child.
Our rivers silt up due to the gross negligence of this and past governments.
I say divert ALL of the £11 billion pounds to solve our own flooding problems.
