Attention potato munchers!
Take advantage of our penny potato sale!
If you buy one serving of potato at the regular price, you get another piece of potato of equal or lesser value for only a penny!
Try and eat potato for a penny!
If you can find cheaper potato's anywhere, scoff it!

There was plenty of food in Ireland at the time but it was exported by the ruling class in England.

It is time that the Irish people had their experience validated by the world. The constant famines were not part of our heritage but man made. The impact of the starvation is still in our DNA.

The truth needs to be told about The Great Hunger in Ireland without animosity, in order for humankind to learn from this as with all ego based atrocities. Us Irish people were seen as sub human by a few who feared us. The ego's fear perception leads to greed and unfortunately this fear is still prevalent today in many other places in the world, but there is no "other" we are all One.

The "famine" won't go away until what really happened sees the light of day - the British overestimate the power of defence by ridicule.

That's getting really low to make a comedy out of people suffering. No funny way to look at it you all should be ashamed of you selves, their it is

My Great Grandmother was Irish from Skibereen came to England in 1860 the year she was born in the aftermath of the famine... She lived til she was 99 and often spoke of the hardship suffered in Ireland because of English rule she was a staunch Republican and I guess a little of that rubbed off on me.

Just how Low can the British stoop, making a Comody out of the plight they inflicted on the People of Ireland. Where People were starved to Death and left to Rot where they Dropped. They weren't even given a Funeral. Many Thousands of Irish People Lost the right to live Because the British said Let Nature take it's Course.

Thank you for shedding the light on what really happened. I am of Irish blood, born a Milligan then adopted. The family came over during this time and became farmers here, but there is no record of the family before that giving me the impression they were forced to leave also. Good Job!

""The great hunger"" IS NOT ADEQUATE , this was conceived and planned holocaust --GENOCIDE , Why do we persist in sanitising Irish History ?

THIS WAS GENOCIDE AND THE FIGURE OF DEATHS MORE TO 4.5 MILLION--BY STARVATION OR FORCED TOO SEEK REFUGEE STATUS----NOT IMMIGRATION
