Logic!!! We 'the people' didn't have a say in where they put the explosives, but we have to pay for their decisions! Why didn't they put the electric up a little bit and spread the cost when everyone was using it last summer - why do the ones who stay all year have to pay the price when its COLD and we dont have a choice! I saw an 84 years old lady yesterday sitting wrapped in a blanket worried to turn on the heating because of the bills and her pension! LOOK AROUND... PUT THE GOVERNMENT WORKERS ON MINIMUM WAGE OR ASK THEM TO SIGN ON AND THEN SEE HOW QUICK THINGS WOULD CHANGE!

It is about time Cyprus woke up to the fact that we live in a perfect climate for alternative energy, EAC should NOT be allowed to have the monopoly , although I suspect it is not all down to EAC but to the Politicians who "need their big backhanders to facilitate their lifestyles, and to hell with the public.

Thank you for starting this petition. I am glad there is such a huge following and people are coming forward. However- it must not stop here, how can we make sure that it does not run out of steam? Can there be more assertive action? It is ridiculous that utility bills are higher than rent and while the recession is hitting hard.

There are 3 reasons for the high prices: 1. All equipment is purchased at excessively high prices. Will continue as long as political parties can accept secret donations. 2.Inefficient administration like the civil services. 3. Wrong long term strategy which is decided by politicians on a short term apointment
