The Rock is an epic venue for people from all walks of life. Enjoy an icecold beer and music in an atmosphere that is truly laid-back and friendly. It is unthinkable that this venue should ever close!! In fact it is an asset to the LSC, an attraction to visitors and locals alike, generating much needed income. To those wishing to see its doors close, I have the following to say : It may be your own inability to relax and have fun, that makes it so unbearable for you, instead of embracing everything the Rock is to so many people.!!!!

Live music venue's are far and few! We mucians make a living applying our trade and talent! How could we be heard if not for live venues, these are attended by our fans and music lover's, so please spare a thought for us making a honest living! Besides the venue is well run, organised for the public's entertainment, so lets not deprive them as well. Music being the spice of life!! Brian Finch

Live music venue's are far and few between, and these are places where talented musicians can apply their trade and talent, after spending many years mastering their art. They provide honest entertainment for fans and music lover's LIVE!! Please consider that this is their income, a way to make a living, how can anyone deprive someone of this!! Honestly, without these venues, we would be out of work. Come guys, have a little consideration for musicians, and be thankful that you have a well organised venue for such events. BRIAN FINCH

As a musician myself I feel it important to have places like these kept open since they are fee and far between, I might not live in kzn but when my band goes touring I'd like to know there'd be places where we could go perform and I would absolutely love to play there

I signed the petition because i enjoy going to the Rock. It is relaxing,good people, good music,good food. As there is not so much entertainment here, we would like to keep the place open, we all love the Rock.Everybody just gets along like one big family and it is really sad that people who lives a sad life can't stand it when there are others who live positively and enjoy life. Please allow us to have a good time in a well behaved manner with good friends.

The Rock Music Bistro is a great music venue that is a joy and a pleasure for everyone. If this helps stop an officious municipal employee that possibly is getting a handback from somebody in order to close the venue - I will happily do anything it takes.

 This sort of reply is really not helping the cause. When you´ve bought a few million rand house in somewhere as beautiful and unspoilt as Umzumbe, then to be told you are sour and must move because you object to the loud music from the local oudoor music venue every weekend. I don´t think anyone wants it to close but what cannot be avoided is this is and OUTDOOR music venue and until the sound levels are addressed this problem will not go away. That pub used to stay open until the early hours of the morning before it was a live music venue and there where hardly and problems. It´s only since the music has moved outdoors with no sort of containment that has caused a problem.

If it wasn't for places like The Rock then where would all our talented muso's express and share their talent??! Also my bestie Sherryl is a regular and she would be devasted if there was no more Rock. I plan to visit later this year and you had better still be there! :)
