Common sense … not so common 🤪

The toll location is punitive to Fermoy. It’s an outdated model that needs to be scrapped by a government with a vision. Let’s see which politicians can actively support this.

Even though I don't live in Fermoy it's the town id like to do business in and visit more but I'm usually put off by the traffic. I work in Moorepark and it's faster for me to leave work and drive to Mitchelstown which is 13KM away to do my shopping etc than it is to go to Fermoy which is only 3.8KM from where I work. The traffic is choking the town.

Traffic in Fermoy has me at breaking points sometimes. Could take you 30 mins just to run to the shop. We seem to be the only Town in the country who have the slip roads leading into it tolled. Doesn't seem very fair.

Emer Feerick (Fermoy, 2024-11-12)

For the benefit of Fermoy Town. Too much traffic avoiding the Toll.
It's suffocating Fermoy town.

Our lovely town of Fermoy is less accessible due to excessive traffic. It affects those of us living and working in the community adversely.

Olga O'Mahony (Fermoy, 2024-11-12)

I am signing because I advocate improvements infrastructure and services in the town of Fermoy that will help the locals .

Patrick Hanley (Fermoy, 2024-11-12)

.. I am a resident in Fermoy town itself and witness the traffic congestion on a daily basis. It makes perfect sense to have more access around the town to help alleviate this huge problem.

Imelda Fagan (Cork, 2024-11-12)

#36

I'm signing this because I agree with the sensible and logical proposal to improve the town and the quality of life of those within.

I agree with everything mentioned in the petition, every town needs to plan and look forward to whats best for the future of everyone. I hope that the successful candidate will.follow through on the peoples wishes.

Pat Dunlea (Cork, 2024-11-12)

I live in Fermoy town, the constant high levels of traffic through the town - throughout the day makes it a very unpleasant place to be. I wholeheartedly support this important petition.

Niamh Carroll (Cork, 2024-11-12)

#47

Im signing because I believe this is an essential and urgent issue ,as outlined above.

Bernie Tobin (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

The government are forcing people not to use Toll and bottling up the town . a disgrace ..we may motor tax ,why a toll .

William Hegarty (Kilworth, 2024-11-13)

#65

The streets and pathways in Fermoy are dangerous for all users particularly pedestrians and cyclist

Dave Bartley (fermoy, 2024-11-13)

#67

The toll should be removed. I suspect they are not making much money there. It is just a blocking mechanism to force cars into the town. Must be the only place in the world where people are encouraged to drive through the town

Declan Okeeffe (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

#68

I agree with the objectives outlined in the petition and feel that their implementation would greatly enhance the quality of life of the residents of Fermoy.

Conor Keane (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

Business is suffering in fermoy from lack of proper traffic management and being ignored when comes to town’s center first policy and still waiting for the 2 million allocated to be spent on improving town Centre

Pat Morrissey (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

#71

Traffic congestion in Fermoy everyday

Rosarie McCrae (Cork, 2024-11-13)

#81

I think these suggestions would greatly improve every day life for the community of Fermoy in both sides of the river.

The connection to the Waterford road, east of Fermoy is desperately required. It's mind boggling how this has not happened!

Dee O'Dwyer (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

#82

The traffic situation is out of hand and I am out of pocket €80 every month for going to work

Aisling Cotter (Cork, 2024-11-13)

#83

With another major supermarket (Tesco) being built alongside SuperValu and Lidl, the traffic situation will be manic unless the above are put in place.

Liam Howard (Kilworth, 2024-11-13)

#85

I fully support the proposals put forward by the author of the petition.

Tony Crotty (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

I’m sick of the traffic and trucks flying through the town

Karen Cosgrove (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

#102

I am signing because I am a local business person and the traffic issue is causing problems for my business .

Thomas Bryan (Fermoy, 2024-11-13)

#104

I am signing this petition as I can see from being a business owner in Fermoy that the traffic issue is damaging my business . People are turned off of coming into Fermoy as they are constantly stuck in traffic .

Lourde Bryan (FERMOY, Co. Cork, 2024-11-13)

#106

The traffic issues stop me from physically going to Fermoy. I end up shopping online instead of spending my money locally and supporting local.
It also decides which supermarkets I will go to, what times I will visit my elderly parents and activities I will allow my children participate in.

Siobhan OSullivan (Kilworth, 2024-11-13)

#111

this is great suggestion now is the time to make politicians aware ig GROWING problem for the residents of Fermoy
and visitors to the town .
The slip road to the hospital was in the plans for the byepass SO
why wasnt done then
?? such poor planning !!

Dympna O Meara (Cork, 2024-11-13)

The TOLE was built in the wrong first day ... It should have been built beyond Fermoy , north of the Moore Park roundabout leaving Fermoy free of surplus traffic trying to avoid the Tile and Mitchlestown with its existing ring road would have no problems ... The solution is simple but the government and the country council were always short on linked up thinking which can be seen with the poor decisions made down the years ... The awful mess at Amber with the awful Ghost Estate and across from Amber the Town's Industrial Park ... Empty for twenty years ... The awful state of our once historic Weir plus the Mart sight standing empty ... The list goes on and one wonders has any TD or Counsellor been in the town over the past while as the above problems have been around for up to twenty years ... There are many more local problems out there and in the past totally ignored and forgotten by our so called local representatives ... It's not funny as it's our Town slipping down the slipperery slope while the powers that be draw big monies and seem to do so little 🐔
