Our Government helped cause the destruction of property, displacement of people and dreadful loss of life in Syria by supporting opposition groups. Now they have an opportunity to help rebuild that country.

(Carmarthen, 2016-12-29)

#2

I support the Christians log Syria, the first Christian nation.

(STOKE-ON-TRENT, 2017-01-05)

I'm signing because Britain and the US have failed to protect Christians in Syria but have rather armed and supported Muslims who have slaughtered them.

(Salisbury, 2017-01-05)

#6

It is time for the UK Government to stop talking about helping Christians and actually doing it!

(Stoke on Trewnt, 2017-01-05)

The U.K. government should have supported President al-Assad from the beginning rather than rebels

(Evenley, Brackley, 2017-01-05)

(Leicester, 2017-01-06)

#24

We did totally the wrong thing by helping and arming an assortrment of bloodthirsty rebels and jihadists and it's about time we made amends for our wrongdoing, and stopped treating Russia as a 'pariah'

(HARLOW, 2017-01-06)

#25

I believe the stories of the Christians in Aleppo, they have no reason to lie.

(Lostwithiel, 2017-01-06)

#26

I think it is deplorable that western powers intervened and supplied rebels with the ability to cause the havoc they did. The same rebels that once they obtained their objective will turn on the west that helped them.

(Bangor, 2017-01-06)

#28

I am signing this because it is high time that we as a Christian nation helped the Christians who have been treated abominably by the islamist and need urgent help.

(Builth Wells, 2017-01-06)

#35

I like to read the truth rather than what the mass media tells us.

(Cheltenham, 2017-01-06)

(1 Prospect Terrace, Settle, 2017-01-06)

#40

I am no friend of Syrian Ba'athists, but they offer the only likely stability for the country at the moment, and the only hope of stemming the flow of desperate emigration.

(Bath, 2017-01-06)

#43

If Assad is overthrown,Syria will probably go the way of Iraq after Saddam Hussein

(Bath, 2017-01-06)

The Syrian Christians are being murdered by Islamic jihadists.

(Rotherham, 2017-01-07)

#96

There has been much mis-reporting concerning the truth about Aleppo. Christians have now got freedom to worship freely. Russia was not the bad guy as the American Foreign Office tried to depict, in this case.

(waltham abbey, 2017-01-10)

#109

I think Britain should keep its nose out of the internal politics of another sovereign nation. Civil war is for the peoples of that country to sort - not an outside country. We do not understand the tribalism of the Middle East. They must sort this themselves.President Assad would seem the only credible person to do this whether you agree with him or not.

(PLYMOUTH, 2017-01-10)

#111

The position taken by Britain to take responsibility to protect Syria, extends beyond military intervention and weapons supply.
It is equally responsible to intervene post conflict, through rebuilding commitments - which include restoration of physical and social infrastructure.
It is therefore incumbent on Britain and its Western allies to invest in infrastructure projects that will help rebuild the nation and country of Syria.

(Edinburgh, 2017-01-10)

#145

Syria needs all the help the UK can give them and I don't mean bombs guns or Military action...

(blackpool, 2017-01-11)

#151

I'm signing because it is our Christian duty to rebuild what we helped destroy. Also and most important we need to insure that the Christian's get reestablished in their land. That there are safe places made for then to return to. They have been there for thousands of years and we must not let Islam force then out of the land.

(durham, 2017-01-15)

David Cameron's government illegally helped to overthrow Gadaffi which, just like Tony Blair's illegal actions in Iraq, was a huge mistake evidenced by the current state of the Middle East. Some of the misused and squandered foreign aid should be used to help rebuild Syria.

(Shrewsbury, 2017-01-16)

#199

The UK have a responsibility to rebuild Syria, having failed in its responsibility to protect it.

(Llantwit Major, 2017-01-28)

We only do ourselves harm when we seek to destabilise another government. There is no perfect government, and it seems that under Assad there is more chance of unifying the country. In helping them get back on their feet we could benefit by helping to create a sustainable country that can look after its own.

(Kent, 2017-01-28)
