it is too soon. The known level of infections are increasing more and more daily. It is not safe to send your kid to school now. Later, yes, when the spread of the virus is not a deadly problem.

It is too early, too risky and I don’t think the government has the capacity to social distances the children in their classes and we run the risk of spreading the virus rapidly

It is still crucial for schools to reopen especially for the primary school pupils. This beautiful soul they see everything as one. All they want to do is play with their friends touch and share. What do they know about distancing seriously. They like chickens. I think we should rethink reopening of their schools for their safty for their life.

I am a mother to 2 toddlers.one 6yrs and the youngest 1.9months both attending preschool as I go to work.honestly at their age you can expect them to wear masks the whole day or let alone remember to wash their hands very often.plus teachers cannot give all necessary hygienic attention the whole day at the pre school.so please help us protect the future of this country.

The reopening of schools is a nightmare. The parents are working hard to teach the children at home. Education department come up with a way to save the academic without our children becoming a statistic. Let the kids do there exams but be taught at home. Children going to school is out of the question. Most parents will rather let there child fail the year than return. With all the protesters burning the schools what will our kids have to go back to. Listen to the people because with out the people the country is nothing, the government needs to protect our future generation

#901

I'm signing because I support the motion by Tracy, that children can't go back to school in a disastrous period like now. This action will only expose them and the SA communities to more infection risk. We need to stop all activities that can increase chances of spreading covid 19. Thanks for your initiative Tracy.

Daniel Tabane (Brits, 2020-05-05)

#902

They can't control children Under normal circumstances! They will never be able to get children to adhere to social distancing.
Why risk their health? Chances are zero for Matric's to find jobs next year.
Scrap 2020 school year!

My son is a high risk patient and my daughter is in school. To pressure them to catch Up 6 months of school in the remaining 6 months plus previous work, it’s nearly impossible, it’s actually impossible. They can’t even complete the curriculum in the given time already. Rather take 13 channels on SABC, each channel for each grade R - 12 and do the lessons on there, repeat them all day then next lesson following day, repeat lessons on the channel on the weekend from the lessons before. Free tv Liscence, free channels. Well not free cos we are still paying government school fees. If we could get these fees taken away we could hire (create jobs from lost teachers jobs as Aupair or tutors.

Tina Main (Benoni, 2020-05-07)

#908

I don't think it's safe for children to be back at school with this virus. Will the government or school be 100% certain that kids will not contract the virus from peers or educators. If public schools can't keep their toilets clean for kids how will they keep their classrooms playgrounds and learning equipment clean enough

Alyssa Ramasamy (Durban, 2020-05-08)

#909

The school is a breeding Place for the virus & will put children at a much higher risk of getting it & then go home & infect the family. Rather provide parents with handbooks & material To assist from home

Joey Jansen (Durban, 2020-05-10)

#910

Im signing this because i have a daughter who attends school and i really cant risk her health and safety by sending her out there alone vulnerable and not sure if the correct protective measures are used and again she is only 7 years old so social distancing is not something she understands. I tell her to keep her distance but within minutes she is back to her old self so no im not gonna risk the life of my girl

Neo Huma (Tshwane, 2020-05-11)
