This is an old traditional pub and should stay that way. The local pub is an old British tradition which is disappearing rapidly and we need to do something to protect it.(BELVEDERE, 2017-01-24)

The China Hall is a real local asset and creates a sense of place and belonging for many. The community will be worse off without it.(London, 2017-01-24)

The China is a fabulous local family pub at the heart of the community! Far too many local public houses are disappearing and I feel this is a huge loss to one of London's great traditions so needs to be protected and preserved! Mick and Linda run the China as an extension of their home and you will always be given a warm welcome! Let's not assign the China to the history books and wish more was done to stop it's demise along with hundreds of other locals....we will regret it when are no proper old fashioned pubs left!!(London, 2017-01-24)

Again we absolutely object to the closure of our pubs, and the China Hall should be valued as an Asset of Community Value. It is also well-known and well loved by the locals. It is another living record of our social history.
It also of architectural merit on the streetscape of Rotherhithe.
You can't miss it on the way to Canada Water Bus & Underground Station. We hope the previous landowners didn't sell it off to developers without prior knowledge of the current landlord!

China Hall is a much needed pub opposite Southwark Park. They provide a great outlet for thirsty sports participants keen to socialise after a tough game. At Try Tag Rugby we have been using the China Hall on Tuesday and Thursdays for 7 years as our official after match venue. For 18 weeks over summer the pub become great hosts for our post match functions two nights a week. Attendance ranges from 40 people to 100 nightly. There is no alternative pub in the area that is convenient or as likely to so accomodating.(London, 2017-02-09)

This is great local pub that adds character to an area that significantly lacks character. Knocking it down would be a tradegy- it should be protected to maintain the culture of the area.(london, 2017-02-09)

The China Hall is a massive part of our sports community playing across the road in Southwark Park. So many good times have been had here and we continue to come back regularly on Summer evenings. The owners have been so welcoming and friendly and helped nurture a fantastic atmosphere in this establishment. The China Hall is a unique place that has helped create so many friendships in what is one of the most important aspects of our sport, the after match social.

The China Hall for many years always welcomes us into their pub with a warm smile and open arms. Without The China Hall, our business would not be were it is today. From everyone at In2Touch we'd like The China Hall to continue to be a part of the amazing community in Southwark for years to come. To the staff and owners, we wish you all the best and cannot thank you for what you have done for us and the many In2Touch players over the years. The teams thoroughly enjoy their time spent in your lovely garden and enjoy the great service you always provide. Best of luck and we'll see you soon!(London, 2017-02-15)

I am signing because I am fed up of working class places being bought up by developers.turned onto an eyesore, usually with promises of something for us, then having it sold off to Russian and Chinese interests like the Lewisham new builds, being un-affordable for the average person who can no longer afford to live in their own area.If it isn't community led it's not in our interests.Cultural reference points have disappeared all over London. Look at what happened with the Heygate Estate SAME BOROUGH COUNCIL. Shame on a Labour Council selling off our family silver, our Social Housing, after a jolly with developers.Corrupt politicians should have no say on what happens in our areas.Labour should aspire to the values and ethics it was built on.
