MAINTAIN FREE THE BEACH VOLLEYBALL COURTS AT LA FONTAINE PARK

We, volleyball players and residents of the City of Montreal, are opposed to the introduction, in 2018, of a fee for the reservations of beach volleyball courts in La Fontaine Park.

We beleive that Plateau-Mont-Royal borough should support and promote free access for everyone to the sports and leisure facilities that are essential to the health and well-being of the community.

In addition, the beach volleyball courts require only minimal amenities and maintenance, namely, a sand area with two nets and a few field levelings per season. These costs seem reasonable compared to other free park facilities, such as the ice rinks, children's play areas, wading pools, etc.

We also regret that no consultation on this fee has been made with the users.

We request that Plateau-Mont-Royal borough maintain the free reservation of volleyball fields at La Fontaine Park for the coming years.
