I really hope ms shuter stays. I am sorry but the parents petitioning against her should have done so when we heard she was appointed back last July. I may have even signed it then. But no-one petitioned and she was appointed....the Board of Govenors decided to give her a chance even though it was at the expense of losing one of their govenors who disagreed. I am sure this was not done lightly. Many many parents including myself were unsure and worried but decided to give her the chance because we were desperate!! We all know what the school was like b4 she started and it was getting worse. We all breathed a sigh of relief when we heard Mr Lewis was leaving. You ask what kind of a role model is she...well what kind of a role model was the school giving to my kids when they went into school with physical fights every day in the dining hall with 3 teachers trying unsuccessfully to break the fight. Logging onto fb to see a video being posted of a fight at ks with kids cheering. Mobiles phone out constantly in class lessons.... Mr Lewis couldnt be bothered to discipline these children....he gave up on them!! He was never a role model for my kids. since ms shuter we don't hear any of this...no more fights in the dining hall, she managed to expel kids that were just plain troublemakers within weeks etc. If the school doesn't get any better sooner rather than later more and more Jews will either move out of Essex or not bother sending their kids to ks. The majority of parents want a good school that is doing well academically....are they bothered whether their kids have to take js as a subject for gcse? I don't think so....they are still being taught js. I am a modern orthodox Jew, if I thought the jewish ethos of the school was in jeopardy I wld be very upset and concerned but I don't feel or see that in anyway. All festivals are and were celebrated. Lots of comments have been made and everyone should be allowed to have their opnion but some are just outright lies I guess to justify their lies.
