Any law that disallows us the People to keep any animal within our ownership a violation of our civil rights and is our right wrong.
Just cause some don't like something does not give them the right to enforce the issue to make laws against the others who do like the animals they own.
I don't like somethings don't mean it should be outlawed just be avoid by myself and others.
Self imposing interest groups need to be investigated sometimes to see how and were the get there funds rumors have it they NON Profit groups are breaking the laws

Reon being HSUS has its stench coming off this Bill again like 99.9% they have ried more times then enough to get such through and have failed.

Rest assured I always support the cause to force the death of all Bills against our Animals to seee it die with calls and letters to congress and oher people who matter.

I will always back anyone in this fight cause these or any animal;s only crime was being born as they are.

If they do try and get it oassed I have one Ace in hiding that will smah all Bills against Exotics that wilol Kill the Bills they attemp to pass something none have seen as yet and something I have.

So love your Animals and care for them as the Bible says for Evil my hold the government but Good is watching with the shield of justice and the sword of rightious ready to strike.

We have always been permitted to the keeping of certain poison snakes and if a person is of age and recognized as a competent keeper i think it only right that person be awarded a permit.

As some of us have mentioned, many of these creatures have lost there habitats, mainly through human habitation and as many of us are caring, mindful and competent keepers, it is only fair to the species and the person that the creature be given the opportunity to flourish, for many of them, where they now habit, will soon be to there detriment, as they will be moved out and killed by those who have little or no God given respect for them.

We all wish all creatures could flourish safely in the wild, Tell me what is left of the most unique of species in Madagascar for instance? and what of things so big you can miss them, like our Rhino and Elephant being wiped out at a rate too catastrophic to imagine, now they are considering that the farming of this species should be encouraged in order to help save them all from extinction.

This very consideration should apply to all wild life every where, besides which reptiles are never tolerated by most humans, why? because they have never been exposed to them, so they react with the fear they have inherited from there ignorant fathers and there fathers down the line, today the the very mention of a snake or lizard or gecko for that matter brings a report of "the only good snake is a dead one"

Look at the leopard toad, red data list, why? well ask the municipality in Houtbay for a start, when they filled in all of the wet lands to support what, toads and frogs, noway Humans with big bucks, if you have the money, environmental conservation is the last consideration, so who are these Hippocrates who make these stupid laws and what makes them tick, I'll tell you what; it's the power to say yes or no and hold us all in contempt, like what are you going to do about it????

Ok so none of us like the fact that many animals are traded illegally and we don't want to do what is illegal, but many of these exotic lizards today if not sold through the pet trade will be eaten by hungry Indians, is this natural? yes in the bush it is, but with the amount of logging and clearing to make way for the greed McDonald's hamburgers and people like them, the habitat is loosing ground at an enormous rate.

should the authorities, issuing permits open up the market and have societies like ours out there like watch dogs, either to help young people with there husbandry or, if an individual is not caring and won't listen to sense, then be permitted to do the confiscating for cape nature, keep a record of the account and move the animal on to a more caring permit holder, everybody working together to make the best of a bad deal, the bad deal being, the state our world is in and the no hope situation for all creature kind.

If the authorities do not wish to work together with everybody I am afraid the conservation of many reptiles, arachnid, birds and animals will eventually become a dismal failure

Wow those are really strong words and I pray to the good Lord you are able to do what you say, I am 70 this year and have cared for wild life all of my life, to be honest it's nearly bankrupting me these days, my wife and friends tell me Im a nut and should sell all of my reptiles and also stop rehabilitating the sick and injured animals, birds etc.

I can't stop,it's my passion, my Love, something greater than me and what ever it is I hold dear to me on this earth.

There are many like us out there and if the authorities would wake up to this fact and work with us, there entire efforts if they really care would reach a positive fruision, bringing them joy and pride instead of infighting and missery and usualy to the detriment of the animal in question.

MAY GODS HAND BE UPON THIS SITUATION, that all of us may benifit, with elation and triuphant joy, this I ask in the name of Jesus. and I thank you right now Lord.

This is now really upsurd. Looks like because of people miss using their animals and using them as breeding material, now all is shaved under the same comb, which is REALLY unfair. Please people let us all stand together against this.

I am all for the protection and proper keeping of all pets, whether mammal, invert or reptile. Let Natcon do inspections to ensure we do our bit in safekeeping and proper husbandry, but do not dare take it away from my home where I have been looking after my animals for just about their entire lives.

Natuurbewaring is simpel as hulle dink dat ek my akkedis spesies sommer so sal opgee. Hulle (iguanas, water dragons en beardies) was lankal in my familie gewees voordat ek na die idiotiese Oos Kaap getrek het met al hul reels en regulasies. Ek teel hul kos in 'n stoorkamer. My hokke is perfekte temperature ens. Ek stem saam met Wolf101. Natuurbewaring moet inspeksies hou en mense se diere wegvat wat nie ordentelik na dit kyk nie, maar los my uit!

Maybe we should be regarding as conservationtionists , instead of selling animals on the black market or muti trade we are keeping our animals safe and give them THE BEST treatment .. Maybe just maybe.  We can be the solution to the problem that you are trying to stop.. Maybe the hobbyist could have the capacity and capabilities to help nature and her dying children from completely dying out... There are no legislation that keeps the poachers at bay maybe start something to boost the animal population instead of just making everything illegal I say hobbyists deserve state and international funding!

Animal lovers will not harm the amazing creatures. The people love the animal hobby love they creatures like they own kids. We try to protect them as far as possible. People have creatures cause they have a passion for animals. You can't even get permits for some of the animals it's so wrong especially if some people do the hobby and they not doing the animals right we can't even take it over if the animal have a permit. If I knew where to find permits my hobby would be much bigger. Please make the hobby legal for the sake of animal lovers.
