i'm pretty sure all this hoohah will amount to nothing. it's the G we're toking abt here.

pls lah. still dunno sg government meh. they'll just "lay low", "only hear the good stuff", and see only the things they wan to see as the "right news".

they the almighty grandfather of us all, have "all our interests at heart", and "knows what's best for us" cuz they think sgporean are stupid and cant think for themselves.

they'll just ignore every bullshit to them and go on as if nothing happens. just look at the 6.9 meters toilet paper.

only something like the drivers' protest / climb-crane-top expeditions / secret hp videoing then they'll realise it's not what they always assumed to be whinging complains.

Even if the regulation isn't actually used directly against individual websites, the threat of self-censorship it imposes will quash any form of independent commentary online. It needs to go, now.

the Licensing Regime threatens to cripple what little freedom of speech and press and assembly we are afforded in Singapore (and much besides, the quality of local journalism). This cannot and should not be tolerated.

The government wants to play hardball but time has changed. Hardball policy will face greater discontent and vote loss

I sense this govt is afraid of the Internet becoming a check and balance to it and the mainstream medias. Than, all the more we should stand up against this new regime by MDA.

This is a ridiculous attempt to regulate that which cannot be regulated. I used to be quite a serious competitor in dog-training competitions, and there are parallels between how you get the correct responses out of working dogs and running dogs.

Very early on, I learned that you do not shout commands that you cannot enforce. If the dog is at the far end of the field, and it is determined to something you don’t want it to, unless the misdemeanor is very serious, such as attempting to eat somebody’s brat, the best thing to do is for you to pretend that you didn’t notice.

If you do a song and dance, the dog will ignore you, because you can’t enforce the command. Let this happen a few times, and the dog will get the impression that you can’t enforce commands, and will begin to ignore more and more of them.

Well, if the powers that be want to undermine their own credibility, who are we to stop them?

New Media is for the world of tomorrow, not the world of yesterday.

MDA is a parasitic tapeworm in the internet's intestine.
