Utterly wrong. With people we dont judge them by the fact they look like thugs and lock them up before they commit a crime, so why KILL a dog who has done no wrong? Offer classes to teach owners how to manage what u call dangerous dogs rather than asume everyone is a dog fighter and will allow there dog to attack someone.

As an owner of bull breeds myself i know how gentle ,loving and placid they are when raised correctly.They are also very in need of being around human company so when they are removed from what they know and love,placed alone in a kennel environment will be soul destroying for the dog.This is a family member,a life which shouldnt be destroyed based on its appearance.I do hope Teddy is home very soon and not too mentally scarred by his ordeal

This is a safe family pet and not a dangerous and aggressive fighting dog. It is a shame that the court decided that it is a potential risk to the child. Any dog can be aggressive but this one has proved that he isn't. He must be returned to his family.

You can't just put down an innocent dog! You can't expect him to pass this behaviour test you're just using it for an excuse to put him down! I know plenty of dogs who would fail because quite frankly, they are in an odd environment with odd people. This dog hasn't done anything wrong so there is no reason to put it down, if you make breeding illegal then nature will take it's course and the breed will die out anyway. How can you take a beloved family pet for no reason? And how can you end a life with no evidence?

The reason is because Teddy had been with family since pup and this magistrate is saying Teddy a danger to child in family which is absurd and very negative viewpoint. Teddy is no harm to anyone and this is his family who he adores and does no harm please over rule magistrate who is in error here and wants Teddy killed ! His name is Teddy because a sweet teddy bear spare him. Teddy does no harm and even police say a good dog

This dog is nothing like a Pitt Bull .. After watching videos of him I find it a rediculous conclusion. There are more attacks on humans by toy breeds than bull breeds. Teddy is no different to any other bouncy loving dog. BSL should be abandoned, it is inhumane and costly..

This legislation is a nonsense, loving family dogs are being pilloried under this law, causing huge stress to the owners and the dogs and making owners of all bull breeds terrified to take their dogs out in public in case they get seized. This law needs to be stamped out.

Because it is time for us all to take responsibility for our pets, there are dogs out there with bad owners. Teddy is not one of them. He is loved, looked after and has shown no sign of aggression towards anyone. Waste of courts time and a heartbreaking situation for the family concerned. Spend that money on dealing with owners who make their dogs aggressive.

i have a jack russle and a staffie both of witch check to see if my 1 years and 8 month old is ok when he falls down .... no dog should ever be put down 'for potential threat' ever!

The courts reasoning that the child in the family is at risk of attack is unfounded, it is obviously the responsibility of any owner of any animal to take appropriate steps to ensure safety in or out of the home. To discriminate against a particular breed is downright ludicrous!! perhaps if the focus were to be applied to responsible ownership, the powers that be would be at last heading in the right direction!!!
