The Democratic Alliance has passed a resolution recognising animals as sentient beings. 

The animals at the Bunny Park are subjected to

  • Poor living conditions due to inadequate infrastructure; and
  • A deficiency of nutrients due to the lack of food

On the 13th of May, a cow passed away. The feeders were found empty and there was no sign of drinking water for the animals.

For this reason, the DA is calling on the Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality to urgently investigate the negligence and abuse of animals at the Benoni Bunny Park.
