Submission of Petition and FOI request
2020-08-10 15:27:35I have today submitted this petition with 143 signatures but will leave it open for any additional signatories. This morning I witnessed again cars reversing out of the spaces behind the tennis courts because they were full up.
Telford & Wrekin's policy for acting on petitions is below. I have also submitted a Freedom of Information Request to see a copy of the alleged Agreement with neighbouring residents in Herbert Avenue that the car park is only allowed to be used when the Changing Rooms are opened.
I am also hopeful that the matter will be raised as a Resolution from Wellington Town Council to support this petition.
Thank you for all your support
You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt within 5 working days and
within a further 10 working days the Lead Petitioner will be informed by the

which the lead petitioner will be able to speak for 3 minutes in

Submit the Petition
2020-08-05 10:54:59We now have 130 signatories so I plan to close the petition and submit it to T&W Council on Monday 10 August. It would be nice if we can get to 150 by then so please encourage others to sign. I am also hoping that Wellington Town Council will consider supporting our campaign to get this Car Park opened, at their next meeting on Tuesday 11 August. We also have the support of the local Women's Institute so if you know of any other park user groups please ask them to contact T&W Council as well. The easiest way is to use the Complaints section https://www.telford.gov.uk/info/20384/complaints/34/make_a_complaint_and_the_complaints_process/2

Nearly There
2020-07-28 15:11:43After only 5 days we are almost at 75% of our target for signatories to this petition to open the Changing Rooms Car Park off Herbert Avenue into Bowring Park. It seems a common sense solution to the problem of cars parking in the road. This has the support of an increasing number of Herbert Avenue Residents who are also concerned by the traffic diversion off Haygate Road. We also now have the support of some Wellington Town Councillors who are considering a Resolution to ask for the car park to be unlocked.
Please ask your friends and family and particularly any local residents you know to sign this petition.
