Stop this build

Let me ask the residents of the town of Brigus. Do everybody see the large building being built down on the waterfront.

This building will block the view of what our tourists come here to see. Tourists don’t come here to see big boats. They don’t come here to see large buildings they come here to see the winding roads, the different coloured houses and the small fishing boats within the harbour. Thats what Brigus was always about.

I’m putting up a petition to try to stop this. We as residents need to stop it. We need to take care of our community. We need to keep the historical history alive in the beautiful town of Brigus. Why is the town not keeping or concerned about the history of Brigus? Why are we letting it be changed, WHY? If agree please sign below.

The town established regulations to ensure the historic character of Brigus was kept in this part of the community. Yet, this building does not comply to any of the regulations outlined in the towns development regulations. This was not a permitted use, and should have been advertised for public input. It gives people of the community, neighbouring properties the opportunity to express their concern for council for consideration before approval is given.

Before the next election please ask yourself , what good the current members of council done for our community? Never can I remember such a divide between people and organizations in this community as they have created.

I think it’s time, we hold the council accountable.
