Anything that encourages large gatherings shouldn’t be allowed to go ahead. My dog suffers really badly at this time of year with loud fireworks terrifying him. A silly tradition in my opinion.Jordan Davis-Oxley (Rotherham, 2020-10-21)

Quiet fireworks are just as pretty and don't frighten all the animals.Sandra Sims (BIRMINGHAM, 2020-10-21)

We feel that there is enough stress in everyone's lives at the moment, and our poor animals are suffering as much as we are. We do not like fireworks and think they should be banned. We are dreading the next few weeks as we are surrounded by people who think of nobody but themselves. Good luck with your petition!Rachael and Terry Shore (Ryde, 2020-10-21)

I'm signing becasue apart from the stupidity of having a big social event during this virus emergency, fireworks do great dmage to the well-being of animals, birds and the environment. Remember, we also have a Climate Emergency!Ann-Marie Simpson (Norwich, 2020-10-21)

Every year the fireworks start earlier and earlier and sometimes carry on beyond New Year. For all the poor wildlife and animals who are do badly affected by these, and some, who sadly due as a result of them, this must be abolished, why not have the ‘no noise’ ones used in Europe?Lynne Hardeman (Birmingham, 2020-10-21)

It's cruel an so wrong being put so close to defenceless animals who have no idea what's happening. I have a dog an it's only October and already she's a nervous wreck due to careless infividuals who are setting off fireworks near my home. It's time that the sale of fireworks to the public was stopped an only correctly situated displays were allowed. Not near any residential homes or where any animal is close by.Patricia Medina (Barnsley, 2020-10-21)

They are a waste of money and very dangerous to everyone involvedNicola Johnson (Ormskirk, 2020-10-21)

This event is to be held far too close to livestock. And its actually unlawful.According to the law it would be found to be to close to neighbouring livery yards and horses.
Sam Lindsey (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

Fireworks upset animals and may cause them physical and psychological damage by exposure to them. They may also injure themselves or be run over while frantically running away from them. To have a display for two consecutive nights near farm livestock is cruel and totally unnecessary.Charles Byatt (Stoke on Trent, 2020-10-21)
#1662
Fireworks should be banned full stop!Gillian Stevens (Alyth, 2020-10-21)

I’m an animal lover & a pet owner. I’m sick & tried of idiots setting off fire works at all times of the year. Those organising firework displays aren’t sticking to November 5th they are holding them on days before the 5th & days following the 5th. So we end up with displays going off for a whole week & weekend. We need it to be banned for households & individuals to purchase fireworks. Displays by organisations need to be held on the 5th November or a chosen day by government if it falls on a Sunday.Carol Bilton (Rotherham, 2020-10-21)

I'm signing because I have seen the distress it can cause to animals. I had a wonderful rescue dog but as soon as firework time came around she shook from head to foot looking for somewhere to hide. Not only was it distressing for her but for me also. Planned Fireworks should be great just be mindful where they are!!catherine williams (gloucester, 2020-10-21)

Fireworks should not be let off anywhere near animals at livery and livestock. It is cruel and thoughtless. Our pony died after neighbours let fireworks off next to his field. Please reconsider this.Louise Barker (Brinsley, Nottingham, 2020-10-21)

I strongly feel that this event should be cancelled due to the unnecessary distress it will cause to animals and some individuals by using fireworks with bangs. If non-audible fireworks were used instead then I don’t think there would be an issue. Otherwise I urge the organisers to reconsider this event.Leandra Drew (Bideford, 2020-10-21)

This planet doesn't care what it does to humans or especially animals. Animals haven't got a voice so we need to protect them at this time of year when humans are only out to 'enjoy' thenselves without a thought for animalsdavid kerr (Liverpool, 2020-10-21)

I’m signing this because I wholeheartedly agree with what is in the petition. I have animals that are petrified of fireworks and two consecutive nights let alone one night is unbearable to contemplate. My other concern is should this event be going ahead in this time of Coronavirus; how will social distancing be met? Is this a licensed, insured or even registered event with the local authorities?Mariann Hambly (Wroughton, 2020-10-21)

Im against the stress and turmoil fireworks being to animals who have no idea what is going on. I have noise anxiety myself so I know how fireworks affect me. It's not fair that animals and human have to be affected by these events. Especially TWO displays in a row. It's cruel, unfair and totally out of order. The organisers should be ashamed of themselves!!!Andrea Morgan (Bristol, 2020-10-21)

They cause misery to millions of us and our family pets, it’s time to stop. October to January is a time filled with major anxiety and fear for me and staffie, and there’s nothing I can do to make him feel safe in his own home which is heartbreaking for me.Suzanne Keane (Leeds, 2020-10-21)

Animals are frightened by these horrendous fireworks that get louder and louder each year. I personally am terrified of them as my father thought it funny to throw fireworks at me when I was a toddler. One of our dogs is petrified and needs medication prescribed by our Vet which we have to give him and it’s not cheap and we need to give it to him many times as Fireworks don’t just happen once a year. Please think of people and animals who really suffer with these horrible things!Lesley Caddick (Sheerness, 2020-10-21)
#1798
the animals should be protected and the money being spent for this effect can be used for something useful, not being thrown away on some silly fire work display that going to pollute the air.Jan Zdanowicz (london\walthamstow, 2020-10-21)
