These are really great breaks for people having a tough time , I went last year to Somerset house .

(Gloucester, 2019-11-22)

#1405

Short sighted.

(Sturminster Newton, 2019-11-22)

#1409

The centres are a much needed respite for servicemen & women & their families past & present

(Bridlington, 2019-11-22)

#1410

Our service men and women have served this country faithfully, many have paid the ultimate sacrifice or severely injured,we deserve a little bit of care back in return, yet some have never served, never worked yet they get everything for free, where is the justice in that, shame on the RBL if they close down these homes,RBL have many many millions in bank accounts etc,use some of that,it is what it was donated for.

(MANCHESTER, 2019-11-22)

#1412

Because I think the veterans deserve a holiday free !

(Portrush, 2019-11-22)

#1413

It needs to be there for all the ex soldiers who have served this country.

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1414

I am not in the least bit happy about the direction that the Legion appears to be taking. Far too much mention of "Inclusivity", "Diverse Audiences", "differing political and cultural landscape", "Wider Range of representatives". I sense an upcoming PC Strategy and purge of the Middle class, Older white people as we have seen in other organisations.

(Llandovery, 2019-11-22)

#1417

These houses are needed for all veterans

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1418

I'm a veteran

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1420

I am a british army veteran and this place is a safe haven for us ex serving members. And the Royal British Legion do a great job to help veterans and serving troops. Please reopen these premises.

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1421

Having used these facilities I can vouch For how needed they are, please keep them open !

(Stafford, 2019-11-22)

#1427

I am a Veteran and these Centres are required.

(Spalding, 2019-11-22)

#1429

Were would we be if it wasnt for our veterans, if wasnt for my grandads age group we would now be speaking German. They dont get enough help when they return back to civvy street. Its disgusting how they are treated. Thank god for the British legion and SAFFA.

(Powys, 2019-11-22)

#1436

this is a vital service to provide much needed respite

(Holmfirth, 2019-11-22)

#1438

It's something that is needed so much.Pay the bosses less money,
I'm so angry about this.

(Middlesbrough, 2019-11-22)

#1441

We can never truly repay our armed forces but this may go a little way in helping

(London, 2019-11-22)

#1443

i think its disgusting what the ROYAL BRITISH LEGION ARE DOING BUY SCRAPPING THE RBL HOTELS

(gloucester, 2019-11-22)

#1445

My partner is now ex military and it's places like this that serve a purpose to those in need

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1448

Contracting out a service leads to inefficiency and more expense.

(Newport, 2019-11-22)

#1449

These centres are essential to provide safe and comfortable accommodation, breaks and holidays to the most needy

(swinford, 2019-11-22)

#1451

My husband was in the services and we enjoyed holidays there before his death in 2016. I have stayed there recently and made lots of new friends. Many veterans from WW2 now in their nineties enjoy holidays there and I think it a shame that they should be deprived of this chance.

(Accrington, 2019-11-22)

#1454

Once these centres are gone you will NEVER get them back for the same cost ,I understand that RBL caseworkers are Volunteers, Sadly I heard that a lot resigned some time ago , why ????

(Prestatyn, 2019-11-22)

#1456

Important to give respite to veterans and their families

(Cheltenham, 2019-11-22)

#1457

We should be helping our veterans

(Calne, 2019-11-22)

#1459

These facilities are just one of the support services the legion provides for its beneficiaries making them irreplaceable. Save them

(Wareham, 2019-11-22)

#1461

I served, and have helped to raise funds for the RBL and this is just another kick in the teeth for the veterans.

(Swindon, 2019-11-22)

#1468

As can be seen there are only 4 homes that cater for thousands of people who are in need of care.
We owe a debt of gratitude to these ex servicemen/women and these homes provide a well deserved respite for all.

(southport, 2019-11-22)

#1469

These people served their country, now it's time we served them by looking after them

(Merseyside, 2019-11-22)

#1470

ex service men and women deserve bing house to take short breaks to be looked after !!

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1472

These break centres give Veterans somewhere to go for a holiday, with like minded people. Veterans don't deserve to get yet another kick in the teeth. They deserve these centres. The way things are going, the British Legion will lose the respect of Veterans and the public, and may find poppy sales falling. It's getting too much about admin and not enough about the Veterans.

(Swindon, 2019-11-22)

#1473

Great organisation that should not have to close it's facilities.

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1474

We needs these centres open for our veterans of now and the future.

(EVESHAM, 2019-11-22)

#1479

I am a poppy appeal organiser and we all give our time as volunteers.
we would like to think that this money we raise cold go some way to keeping these places open .

(crewe, 2019-11-22)

#1480

I'm signing because it's an absolute disgrace

(Kilkeel, 2019-11-22)

#1481

This is not the way to promote great services to veterans and their families, many of whom benefit greatly from trips to these locations. Stop hoarding money and use it as the public demand. Otherwise publish your detailed accounts to show where money is spent a d on what. By this I mean show us which areas of the country receive money. In Dereham we have had £2,000 in the last 2 years after raising ove £70,000.

(Dereham, 2019-11-22)

#1482

I am one of the staff and I LOVE this place and people who I work with.I am working for all ex and present service Men and Women of Armed Forces who deserve to spend and relax in this kind of place.

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1483

These places are life lines to Veterans and there families and I know from being at Byng house the staff were amazing with us all and we had a fantastic week please do not shut these facilities down

Kind regards Jason Crofts

(Crewe, 2019-11-22)

#1488

I rely on the Legion among other military charities to help make ends meet. Local branches are important places where available. ( Not near me.) The Legion isn't strapped for cash, sack some executives and keep every branch open.

(Castlebar, 2019-11-22)

#1489

This is a travesty and should not be close d the forces families need this support.

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1493

I am signing this because it is a much needed service. People need to take a break from the rat race and help improve their mental health at the same time. People need different options

(Hull, 2019-11-22)

#1494

My family use this and rightly so as my family fought in the war

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1496

I’m signing because these are vital services.

(Lomdon, 2019-11-22)

#1497

For Some time now I have been concerned that money is being invested or wasted rather than spent on the people WE collected it for .

(Bushmills, 2019-11-22)

#1502

Our service folk need help in whatever way. Closing homes not right.

(Antrim, 2019-11-22)

#1503

I'm Absolutely Disgusted about the closures of these restbite homes. And Hanydyman Services I'm thinking of cancelling my membership of the RBL, that I have supported for the last 25 yrs.
I was Pao, Vice Chairman, Chairman. Disgusting state of affairs.

(Cardiff, 2019-11-22)

#1506

This is a vital service and needs saving

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1509

I am signing because there is a need for these to stay open not a need to close.

(Farnborough, 2019-11-22)

#1510

The amount of support Byng house gives in the local community for serving, served and future service personnel would be to much to loose, the main reason that it should be kept is as a focus point for lots of local communities, charities, and educational organisations. And the business that support the legion locally do so because of the efforts of and interaction by Byng house staff's interaction with them, the closure would alienate a mass amount of people in the Merseyside community and beyond, reducing your future recruitment and fundraising,

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1511

I believe the decision, by the RBL, is fundamentally wrong.

(Huddersfield, 2019-11-22)

#1513

I feel the RBL are wrong to close these premises

(WESTON-SUPER-MARE, 2019-11-22)

#1514

I’m a veteran

(Lincoln, 2019-11-22)

#1516

Leaving veterans and their families with no where to go for respite

(Swadlincote, 2019-11-22)

#1517

We have used the break centres and found them a massive respite to our family in troubled times.

(Lampertheim, 2019-11-22)

#1523

They provide such an important service to many people in a time were many services are closing

(Ormskirk, 2019-11-22)

#1527

These facilities are for the benefit of the RBL members, these facilities are needed now more than ever. If the RBL continues with this proposal they will lose support from a majority of members.

(BRUTON, 2019-11-22)

#1528

I believe the work they do is still needed.

(Luton, 2019-11-22)

#1529

My sister is losing her job

(Southport, 2019-11-22)

#1530

Disgraceful they want to be ashamed off themselves and I am ex service

(Larne, 2019-11-22)

#1532

These services are essential to those that need them

(Liverpool, 2019-11-22)

#1533

We need to support our veterans, not the fatcat managers.

(London, 2019-11-22)

#1534

Utter disgrace that Bennett House is to be closed. The service they provide is second to none @ is very valuable to x service men @ their families who need the time to meet other people who need the vital time of restbite for their mental health @ wellbeing ,Leave Bennet House alone,

(Omagh, 2019-11-22)

#1535

I have been case worker 4 many years and poppy seller for 45years now volunteer in pop in Belfast. Totally disgusted that Bennett House is under threat has the RBL lost their way. I fear many will leave membership and Poppy Appeal will suffer. Haig House need to rethink 😥

(Fivemiletown, 2019-11-22)

#1536

My dad and mum benefit from the break away to help keep. Going

(Lisburn, 2019-11-22)

#1538

I'm signing as it is a disgrace to close down these brilliant places that offer our service men, women and families or ex service people and their families well deserved breaks or rehabilitation so rightly earned . This means so much and more to those that have used these facilities.

(Liverpool, 2019-11-22)

#1539

The legion is failing in its duty by closing these centres.

(Belfast, 2019-11-22)

#1541

I believe it should stay open .

(Northern Ireland, 2019-11-22)

#1543

It's a great place to go for a break especially the families who haslost loved ones in the troubles

(I, 2019-11-22)

#1544

There isn't enough respite for the brave men and women who protect our country

(Coleraine, 2019-11-22)

#1547

I am singing because Veterans need help for the rest of their lives and respite facilities

(Southampton, 2019-11-22)

#1550

They do such good work

(Mablethorpe, 2019-11-22)

#1551

As a forces veteran, these facilities are of vital importance.

(Blandford, 2019-11-22)

#1557

I disagree with these closures.

(Newtownards, 2019-11-22)

#1558

I'm signing because I disagree with these ludicrous plans which will deprave veterans and familys the ability to have breaks with like minded people

(Burton upon trent, 2019-11-22)

#1561

We need these places to remain open so our veterans have somewhere they can go to meet and chat to like minded people. They will also receive support and guidance to help them continue with life. We spend so much money on foreign aid yet neglect those who have helped make our lands safe and secure

(Bury St Edmunds, 2019-11-22)

#1562

The RBL have helped me so I do the Poppy lottery to help others. These facilities are a necessity not a luxury.

(Cardiff, 2019-11-22)

#1563

RBL do good work at the homes need to stay open

(Broadstairs, 2019-11-22)

#1565

We have very little in Northern Ireland for our veteran’s as it is , it’s an absolute disgrace when you think of the money in reserve being held by the RBL in London . Get a grip.

(Ballymoney, 2019-11-22)

#1567

Asa RBL Volunteer Information Officer I have assisted many veterans in applying for a Poppy Break, which I know to be incredibly beneficial to them.

(Plymouth, 2019-11-22)

#1569

To show support to save these 4 great facilities ...

(Ballymena, 2019-11-22)

#1570

I believe that the break centres give much needed relief not only to the eligible resident but also importantly to family members. The loss of this facility can never be replaced.

(Nantwich, 2019-11-22)

#1574

I'm a great believer of all respite houses and support that RBL can offer.

(Northallerton, 2019-11-22)

#1579

I have long thought the RBL is not fit for purpose, this adds to it, first four 2428

(Doncaster, 2019-11-22)

#1581

This is what I donate my money for

(Byfleet, 2019-11-22)

#1582

This is a huge mistake. These services are invaluable to the veterans community.

(Whitehead, 2019-11-22)

#1586

Service personnel either veteran or serving need the services so badly they provide.

(Gosport, 2019-11-22)

#1589

These centres and handy vans provide a vital service for so many people it’s one of the reasons we support The RBL

(Birmingham, 2019-11-22)

#1590

Because all soldiers deserve help after what they have done for us all

(Lisburn, 2019-11-22)

#1593

These break centres are vital for serving personnel, veterans and their kin.
Somerset Legion House, in Weston super Mare is an outstanding resource in a wonderful town.

(WESTON super Mare, 2019-11-22)

#1594

This is a much needed facility in the coastal town of Portrush for all our brave veterans and their families.

(Portstewart, 2019-11-22)
