This road offers a safety net for those who live on the mountain in case of fires; it enhances the opportunity of a day-trip for Brisbane visitors, enabling a round trip up to Lamington NP; it enables local residents to access work opportunities at O’Reillys; and it offers all a scenic experience of driving through varied landscapes with different vegetation’s and views.

Helps bring tourism to the region and a faster route for staff and tourists alike.

I used to enjoy the scenic and peaceful journey along this 4wd only track, stopping to admire John Shepard Lookout and it is a perfect day trip to go and visit O'Reilleys without the high traffic that is on the sealed road from Canungra. Battling people with low driving abilities around blind corners and single lane sections plus the coaches that also travel the sealed road. Duck Creek Road takes that extra stress out of a day trip while also allowing to enjoy nature and slowly driving my four wheel drive through an unsealed track.

The scenery accessed by Duck Creek is so beautiful it should be shared again by reopening this road.
It is also upsetting to find out that people who once used Duck Creek Road to get to work now have to travel an extra 2 hrs each way to work.

It is long overdue for this road to be reopened for public use

It is a stunning part of the world

I have driven this road some years ago and would very much like to see it open again so I can use it when camping around Green Mountains.

I have been on this 4WD track & it was fun

I'm signing this because I believe that both the local population and the visiting population to the area and in particular to the world class and world renowned O'Reilly's Guest House need an alternative access to the Lamington Plateau. The current access is both tortuous and inadequate for the traffic that uses it in common with service vehicles which can be of considerable size.

I have driven Duck Creek Road twice in the past and consider it a fantastic 4WD track. It was an asset to Queensland tourism and should be reopened.

I loved it as a teen 4x4ing up there when we camped at Darlington park Then we could adventure O’Reillys as well

Duck Ck Rd is an iconic drive and I feel that it needs to be re-opened to boost tourism, increase local job opportunities , improve safety during fire events and add to the experiences available in the scenic rim.

Duck Creek Road I remember as a beautiful green place. The creek invites paddles and the locals are very friendly.

I'd like to see the road reopen. I have been visiting O'Reillys since 1983 and miss driving down Duck Creek Road. However, I am mainly doing it to support the locals.

Chris Pavey (Brisbane, 2024-02-18)

I firmly believe this road should be reopened in the interests of safety to provide an alternative route to/from O'Reillys.
It would also be a very nice tourist drive for visitors exploring the region.

I conduct ecotours and ecological research in the area. I used to make use of this scenic road, which in fine weather also has the advantage of being a shorter route between home and the Green Mountains section of Lamington NP

I'm signing because I used to do this drive wife my wife every second weekend and get lunch up on top of the mountain, and I know what to do the same with our kids.

I use this road on both a bicycle and car
