Its important for people of the lgtbq community to have a safe place to be their selves.

Jelte Beukema (Dieren, 2022-05-31)

#1204

Op deze wijze de lhbti-community weer eens wordt gestraft vanwege het walgelijke wangedrag van de gemiddelde (hetero) pauper toerist die zich misdraagt op de wallen.

Joris Solleveld (Amsterdam, 2022-05-31)

#1209

It's an important place for the LGBTQ+ community

Alisa Pakshaeva (Rotterdam, 2022-05-31)

#1212

I want to help preserve the safe space that Eagle Amsterdam is providing to the community.

Also, the freedom of assembly, whether those assemblies are culturally or politically motivated, is an important right of the LGBTQIA+ community, which should be protected.

Marco Caglia (Alkmaar, 2022-05-31)

#1218

Een veilige ontmoetingsplek is van vitaal belang.

Alexander Grofics (Deventer, 2022-05-31)

#1220

Supporting the rainbow/kink/fetish community to be able to create safe space, meeting ground where people can make friends and learn new people how to play safe with each other. Even not playing at a venue they will bond and learn.

I'm an older single gay man. The parties at The Eagle give me a possibility to meet other gay men, to get me out social isolation. The thing is, the real fun normally starts after 2-3 AM. Please do not take it away from me.

Vladimir Chorchordin (Amsterdam, 2022-05-31)

The Gay community deserves and needs a safe place to go out at night

D. Renting (Amsterdam, 2022-06-01)

#1242

Peter DADDY (Amiens, 2022-06-01)

The time for now its perfect. When it had to close earlier its to early (party just started in the horeca)

Rob Egbertsen (Utrecht, 2022-06-01)

#1259

Amsterdam’s nightlife is a part of it’s charm and fame. I understand tourism has become a burden. Closing venues early is not the solution and will damage the unique character of the city.

Safe spaces should be open to all and have open hours. Limit of sales of Alcohol is acceptable but operation hours being limited is not.

Christopher Carroll (Groveland , Florida, 2022-06-03)

#1298

I have seen first hand the results of spaces like this loosing or not having flexible opening times.
I have benefited, as someone from the Rainbow Community, directly from Eagle Amsterdam being a safe place for me and my friends and cannot stay silent when this space, and the opportunity for others to benefit as I have from it might be taken away.

Jaye Arbuckle (Brighton, 2022-06-03)

#1305

Change in this dynamic could create violence and unsafe altercations towards an already ostracized community.

Becky B (Tampa, 2022-06-03)

#1306

it is important to keep these types of places open, that are safe for the community LGBTiq+.
Enough of losing our places

Eagle Amsterdam has been my home and safe space since I was 20 years old and a family and community for me.

This place is an institution, it has been a haven for the gay community for decades and serves so much as an escape for those unable to find a place of solice in this mad world xxxx

In clubs zoals the Eagle is iedereen gelijk, iedereen het zelfde.

Hier zal zelden een ruzie zijn, en hier zelden geluidsoverlast van naar buiten komen.

Wij collega´s vanuit antwerpen steunen THE EAGLE AMSTERDAM

I've visited the bar and it's an iconic venue for gay men from all over the world. When people leave, they are respectful of residential properties and do not cause disturbances.

William McKinney (Belfast, 2022-06-07)

#1344

I like that bar and our community needs it

Georg Luschgy (Oslo, 2022-06-07)

Gerald Boswell (York, 2022-06-07)

#1349

I’m signing because I am a previous visitor to The Eagle, Amsterdam, and firmly believe that gay/fetish men still need safe spaces such as this. It has never been a noisy or disrespectful to others venue.

Steven Byron (Portsmouth, 2022-06-07)

#1350

I believe the vulnerable minority that is the queer community (of which leather/fetish community is a subset of) deserve and NEED a safe place to gather and have a sense of community. Everyone on this planet that wants a community should be able to go find one! With love. -F

#1351

Eagle Amsterdam is a necessary safe space.

Nathan Hodgson (New York City, 2022-06-07)

#1353

The LGBTQ+ community is a distinct class of people worthy of restorative justice. To that end, the government of Amsterdam is responsible to make sure their interventions are narrowly tailored enough to address the interest they are seeking. Since Eagle Amsterdam is not responsible or the cause of the nuisance, and considering the unique need they serve to provide safe community and gathering space for the LGBTQ+ community, they should not suffer penalties for the actions of other establishments.

John Yates (New York, 2022-06-08)

#1354

I believe in leather community spaces

For obvious reasons, Eagle’s hold a very dear place in my heart and must be preserved.

Michael Jeavons (Jersey City, 2022-06-09)

#1374

I live in a community with leather and rainbow bars, we also have lost a few, and the ones still standing have gone through hardship.
These places are more than just bars to us, is a place where we feel safe being our authentic selves, feels that we as a community are disposable and less valued than the non rainbow places and communities.

Alan Garcia Silveyra (Chicago, 2022-06-09)

#1377

The Eagle is an international treasure and welcoming beacon to the queer community. Amsterdam would be poorer culturally with its loss. ❤️🌈🔥

Skye Hannah (Pasadena, 2022-06-09)

#1381

Eagle is an important place to Amsterdam. People travel to this city to go there. It has an impact culturally, economically and is a safe space for many LGBT+.
Amsterdam should save and protect this place.
