I grew up in Walton Co. I think the monuments should not be desecrated as they are dedicated to so many who died in the war between the states. Some who died received no headstone -except for these monuments.

i am a native Georgian, i have Confederate ancestors and revere them as any man does his ancestors. Taking Confederate monuments down denigrates the families who pinched small change to honor family members who have no known grave or marker. Who would deny any man a grave marker?

That Monument is a Mainstay in Walnut Grove I have been admiring it for 62 years. It causes peace and Tranquility over that courtyard, it is a representation of all the soldiers who did not come home their families do not know where they're at where they were buried or died.
It has no racism significance whatsoever. If taken it down is going to cause response from Big amount of voters and people living in this County. Do not fall to the pressures of this outrageous so cold righteous calls that is filling up America. Stand strong that Monument represents this County

A memorial erected by widows, orphans and families of dead and missing American Veterans who died protecting home and firesides should be defended and respected for being the community headstone it was dedicated to be.
Honor thy father and thy mother. Remove not the landmark your ancestors set forth.

Monuments depict our history. They tell us stories from our past.. also monuments were for honoring someone or something that was important to the growth and development of making Georgia an industrious state. We owe them and their families the respect to let the monuments stand for generations to come. Leave the monuments be, they still have stories to tell.
