The Dublin City Fire Brigade saved my father's life many years ago. They are superb. If they are absorbed by the HSE they will be lost to Dublin to just be part of a sadly malfunctioning response system. Not the fault of the wonderful personnel, but of the penny pinching miserably badly run and disgracefully underfunded ambulance service.
