Support motivation to stop expansion. Also same problem in Eversdal Rd.

Ludwig Geldenhuys (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#827

I am sick of people urinating shitting exposing themselves in public. Open fires the noises the smells. This is supporting the influx of crime.

Darius Leach (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#829

Tracy Greenwood (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#840

Unhealthy conditions. Crime escalating

Gerrit Wessels (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#843

This is an unacceptable disregard for the rule of law,and should receive immediate attention. It goes against orderly social cohesion and promotes a disrespect for social order. The negative economic impact on law abiding rate payers can not be tollerated.

Amanda De Waal (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#846

Not acceptable at all !!!

Adri Stapelberg (Durbanville Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#848

I am a resident in Durbanville and has a grade 4 child in the primary school.

Melanie Pretorius (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#849

We cannot have a squatter camp in the middle of Durbanville
It is a health hazard. Unsanitary and brings in crime

Varn Diab (Langeberg Ridge, 2022-07-15)

#851

The street people are living directly opposite my child's school. I have witnessed them defecating in plain sight of the children. My own child had been subjected to their indecent exposure. Their foul language is audible to the children.
There are no toilet facilities at this site.

It is incredibly unsightly. There is always a mess. The rat infestation of our town centre has increased due to ongoing mess left lying around by Street people.

Melissa Demaio (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#861

I'm directly affected as I live in Baxter Avenue and have been living with the constant rubbish and smell of burning plastic on the daily and the increase of crime and mugging in our street.

Kevin Coyles (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#866

Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!!
Sight for sore eyes, HUGE health & safety risk, their plain disregard for the law & the community around them is disgusting… this needs to be addressed ASAP!!

Sonja Britz (Durbanville Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#869

We need yo get rid of the tented community. They can be moved to phisantekraal as they are constant develiping new extentions

Surita Van der berg (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#870

It is not an option to have an informal settlement in the town center of Durbanville as this will lead to increase of crime, Hygiene problems with spread of disease, littering and general disorder and lowering of property values. As a rate payer I request this situation to be addressed and managed in a responsible manner by the relevant municipal authorities. It is completely unacceptable to let this happen right under the nose of the police, which sends the wrong message to criminal elements and puts rate paying and law following citizens at risk.

Ursula van Eeden (DURBANVILLE, 2022-07-15)

#873

Agree that action be taken urgently to prevent further escalation of this situation and others in the area.

Jacobus Uys (Eversdal, 2022-07-15)

#880

Illegal structures i.e. tents with squatters on public open areas going up and expanding daily around Durbanville primary school and other public areas. House burglars has escalated with this....

Deon Winterbach (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#881

Vagrants and informal settlements in residential and business districts are a security, safety and health risk.

Pieter Rousseau (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#883

I do not agree with vagrants pitching tents on public areas

Maria Smith (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#885

The tents and their occupants are unhygienic and harass people in Durbanville. All around Durbanville primary school human waste can be found. I cannot let my child play around the trees next to the parking lot where we wait each day for school to finish. Human waste everywhere. They need to go!

Jolanie Lubbe (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#886

High rates of crime and disgusting behaviour displayed by these people such as urinating and even worse for all to see. All of this in front of our primary school. Please, this unlawfulness has to stop!

Marisa Aldrich (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#894

I agree with the statement

Sonja Styger (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#895

I'm signing because I don't dutifully pay rates and taxes on property values for these type of developments to negatively impact my investment on which a heavy mortgage bond is being paid. This needs to be dealt with immediately. I have been impacted before where I lost a lot of money in selling my property for far less due to being affected by similar developments. Understandably, my frustration and infuriation are running high and vigilante action is uppermost of mind.
It is disappointing and I am angered that our elected officials are doing nothing to date to address this problem. Where do these people come from? Move them back there. Alternatively, accommodate them in another place somewhere else away where they can reside in dignity and facilities acvordingly provided.
Law abiding (not for much longer as I am fed up) hardworking people are now facing the scourge of these tent settlements yet we dutifully pay our taxes in the face of being served by what seems to be useless councilors.
I'm all for the poor and needy to be helped (and do support a number of charities) but not at the continued cost of my property investment and a defacement of our living area in what I believed to be a decent and good suburb to move to with my family. If we all take a similar right to setup anywhere not paying a cent, I'll quickly fence off a big portion of vacant land anywhere and set up a tent/Zozo and claim it for myself. Others may follow suit. But this would be lawlessness. Why are these people permitted to be lawless for pleading "homeless or poor". If so, it just plainly means that local government has failed both the rate paying residents and the homeless in effectively addressing this matter. It is high time that something is done. And that time is NOW!

Fabian De Beer (Cape Town|8001, 2022-07-15)

Safety of my kids and the cleanliness and safety of our neighborhood

Jonathan Kent (Durbanville hills, 2022-07-15)

#902

I am signing this petition because the situation is getting out of control.

Jan Joubert (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#905

I can’t stand the crime that has grown at night due to the tents. They walk around our neighborhood all hours of the night. It’s also unsightly and I worry about all the poo and the open fires

Michelle Carter (D’urbanvale, 2022-07-15)

#906

These squatters in our town are not acceptable.

Werner Van Tonder (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#914

Its a health hazard and safety issue especially due to the fact that its opposite a primary school

Cheronne Bosman (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#917

The City needs to find alternative shelter for the people squatting in the "tents" next to Durbanville police station.

Sonja Meyer (Capetown, 2022-07-15)

#920

There is a similar situation behind Stellenberg Gardens next to the N1, resulting in pollution of the Kuilsrivier and surrounding area. It also results in increased incidents of water taps and meter theft in the area. There are weekly conflict with the residents during refuse removal days.

Leon Strydom (East rock, 2022-07-15)

Samantha Drake (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#933

Durbanville is becoming a squatter camp and drug nest.

Corné Grobler (7530, 2022-07-15)

#935

Its really not a pretty site as they are just throwing their rubbish around and hanging up washing in view of public

Michelle Mentz (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#937

It is unacceptable for all those tents to be erected illegally in an area close to a school and it also reduces the property value of people who paid a lot to have their homes built legally. Tax payers should have a say when it comes to our city and informal settlements being erected without consent of the residents.

Lize Webb (Durbanville Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#941

The tents must go

Pam Harrison (Kenridge, 2022-07-15)

#944

This is a huge security concern. It is extremely un-neat and not suitable accommodation against weather conditions. This is NOT an allocated camping site and there are no ablution, laundry electrical, potable water and sanitation facilities also there are no garbage facilities. We as a family feel unsecured to pass neat this facility for obvious security reasons. We do not support the retail facilities on this area any more.

Daniel Johannes Terblanche (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#945

The currrnt situation is intolerable

Paul Coombe (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#946

Our town is not a squatter camp. We pay our rates and taxes.

Wayne Wolmarans (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#947

I’m signing to keep our beautiful little village safe and clean.

Ezel Vermeulen (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#948

I'm agree with all of the above!

Dalene Van Zyl (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#951

There must be another alternative to people camping on property that doesn't belong to them. Perhaps we can help fundraiser for another homeless shelter to accommodate them?

Nicky Godden (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#952

Coming up with a better solution

Yolanda Stoop (Goodwood, 2022-07-15)

#954

I am signing because there is no sanitary facilities, no washing facilities therefore it is a massive health risk for everyone. Pleas allocate to shelters where they can be properly looked after

Japie Fourie (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#955

People are criticizing of how our town looks lately

Natasha Smit (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#958

This has been allowed to go on for way too long now. It’s time to put an end to it.

Lauren van wyk (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#966

The growth of squatters East of Stellenberg Gardens keeps growing. Petty crime is up. And the City of Cape Town has turned a blind eye.

Burger Naude (Stellenberg, 2022-07-15)

#968

I am against the illegal tents in our suburb. It attracts crime

Chantelle Lombard (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#970

Regulated management of this problem is needed. Security and health issue.

Christelle Marais (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#972

We cannot afford to have a “squatter camp” in the area they are currently taking over. The fesus that is just left there is firstly not acceptable and soon this could grow into a big problem if not stopped. It is literally growing by the week!!!!!

Michelle Alberts (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#973

We love our suburb, Durbanville, which has in areas become filthy, dangerous, and totally unacceptable.

Marlene Damster (Cape Town, 2022-07-15)

#979

The tented camp has created a very dangerous situation right opposite a school. People are regularly intimidated and threatened by the tent residents and crime has spiked in the area.

Giancarlo Ferrone (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#981

Because I am a concerned resident

Michele Donovan (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#984

For the safety of our community as well as the safety of the homeless.

Mireille Fenwick (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#988

these people must get better places to stay...healthy and cleaner.
then we want a clean neat entrance to Durbanville....we moved here to have a calmer neater suburb...but the tents and street sleepers and homeless took over some streets...more robberies and break ins reported....and with loadshedding more unsafe.
we dont want a caravan park at the entrance of our lovely suburb..dirty ..noisy...unsafe for us and opposite the primary school..please make a plan...wedont want them there

Susanna Penglides (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#990

I am concerned

Charles Scott (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#993

Who gives them the right to put up tents and shacks wherever they want? I truly feel sorry for the homeowners who paid a lot of money to live in a security complex, just to have this problem right on there doorstep!!
No toilet facilities, making fires, washing lines…… It’s a disgrace and a saw eye to our beautiful city!!!!

Eulanda Johnson (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#996

Crime has spiked in the area and the homeless people harass our kids and women when they are just walking in the streets

Riaan Ferreira (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#997

Yolande Van Rensburg (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#998

This cannot carry on, they are living right next to a primary school and very unhealthy.

Luke Keyser (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)

#999

This is not a sustainable solution to the current housing problem in Durbanville

Stephen Primich (Durbanville, 2022-07-15)
