Comments

#804

I'm signing because I value to little green space we have left and am opposed to using this land, which was home to local wildlife, used for more over development for commercial profit.

David Norwood (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#808

We have to help preserving the few remaining green spaces around Berkshire for the next generations.

Genevieve Weston (Earley Reading, 2020-11-23)

#812

We need to keep as much green space in Lower Earley as possible and allowing this area to be lost would set a bad precedent.

Richard Porter (Lower Earley, 2020-11-23)

#815

I feel there is sufficient houses in the area Which will lead to more traffic and I didn’t like the way the bulldozers were sent with no health &safety risk assessments as no barriers were erected what about a wildlife survey and left in dangerous condition Surely this is WBCcase to look into before any further work is carried out
What type of developer are we dealing with

Tim Chambers (Earley, 2020-11-23)

#817

We're fast running out of green space with too much development taking place.

Eric Preedy (READING, 2020-11-23)

#820

Lower Earley needs more woodland and green space rather than further development

dave green (Lower earley, 2020-11-23)

#821

Disgusted at the wanton destruction.

Anne Mc (Earley, 2020-11-23)

#822

Too many houses already

John Gates (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#823

Keep some green space. Too many houses have already been built in the region already

Tim Hyde (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#825

It is very important for people to have access to green space.

John sharpe (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#829

Green corridors are essential for movement and for the existence of wildlife and flora . This land is important For the wildlife future and needs to remain

Alistair Lucocq (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#832

I'm signing the petition because we need all the green space we can preserve. Earley and Lower Earley is a huge housing estate and people living there need space for walking and fresh air.

Anna Morris (EARLEY READING, 2020-11-24)

#833

I pass this area on my way to visit relatives and feel that it would be a big mistake to have houses built upon it.

Roger Dollery (Wokingham, 2020-11-24)

#835

A property development company “landscaping”?

Andrew Hislop (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#836

There is so little natural green habitat left in the area and it needs to be conserved for people and wildlife. A woodland , scrubland, just because it is deemed poor quality is not an excuse for land grabbing. Scrubland is extremely rich for wildlife and for flood protection.

Maria Bagnoli (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#846

This space should be protected as our area is already saturated with housing and development.

Colin Rogers (Earley, 2020-11-24)

#849

This is an impotant green corridor.

Colin Mair (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#853

To protect green spaces

Cerys Hughes (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#854

I DONT agree with the clearing of this meadow. It must be kept as a green space for wildlife and for our local area, families also. Like us we like to walk our dog in a safe space, we use it regularly. Very disappointed and upset!!!!

Michelle Portsmouth (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#855

I do not want to see this land developed in any way and it should be returned to its original form as green space.

Tracy Collins (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#857

I am signing because we need to keep our green open spaces around here and not be swallowed up by vast new housing developments.

margaret osborne (reading berks, 2020-11-24)

#861

I am signing because the removal of local habitats for wildlife has to stop!! There are already only a few areas left after the mass of houses in and close to Lower Earley - leave our limited green spaces alone!! The loss of wildlife has important effects on natural diversity and accelerated climate change. If we lose nature, we lose everything - we cannot survive without it!!

Claire Way (British, 2020-11-24)

#870

We need ALL our mature trees, for the air we breathe, for our wildlife. No more destruction!!!

Cath Archer (Bristol, 2020-11-24)

#871

I’m signing this as the new owners of the land unlawfully demolished the established habitat. Somehow a ‘survey’ stated there was no wildlife living there which is complete nonsense. Whoever completed this survey should be taken to court.

Sam Kumra (Earley, 2020-11-24)

#874

Our environment is constantly under attack and we need to protect as much as we can from greedy builders with no conscience

Moira Lincoln (Sutton, 2020-11-24)

#877

Developers need to realise that green space is valued and will be protected by communities.
Their wanton premature destruction will not be tolerated.

Hilary Kemp (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#878

We live very close by and those felled trees acted as a sound barrier from the M4 and A3290. Local residents did not appear to be consulted. We don't need more houses in the immediate area.

Sharon King (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#880

because we live in Lower Earley and there can be no requirement for further development in an already densely populated area

Chris Bunn (READING, 2020-11-24)

#882

I love this part of England

Brenda Downes (London, 2020-11-24)

#883

Although I know from bitter experience that WBC does not take any notice of objections - well-argued or not - I live in the hope that this could be the exception. Anything involving the university, even indirectly, is likely to be given the go-ahead by WBC.

Rita Steele (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#887

I moved because of all the building. Leave the green space there is not enough of it.

Samantha Read (Fakenham, 2020-11-24)

#888

Reduction of limited amounts of woodland and other such spaces in urban areas should be preserved to ensure habitat diversity and to bring a bit of the country into the town. This gives places for people to walk and helps with mental health. Tarmacing /developing such areas is akin to deforestation and should be avoided

Selwyn Dixon (Reading, 2020-11-24)

#889

In my opinion the council and a very select few property builders work together lining each other’s pockets. The infrastructure of areas such as Lower early will suffer due to an over population balance of amenities let alone RBH’s capability to cope. Above all these issues. Open land is imperative to the mental health of local residence. Surely a percentage of open space is as important as housing for equilibrium for a balanced standard of life. Nature and wildlife!! To many subjects of crucial importance to cover just here. Or just take the money and forget all this as long as 6 greedy people are happy and 16,000 people aren’t, who cares huh?????

Ian Stokes (Reading, 2020-11-25)

#891

No consultation was carried out with the local residents, plus the area is already over populated if houses are to be built there.

Colin Harley (Reading, 2020-11-25)

#899

I am signing because we absolutely need these green spaces. these recent lockdowns have shown how critical spaces such as these are to our mental health.

Andrew Mennie (Reading, 2020-11-25)

#902

It's important to the locals for their children and walking the dog.

james stokes (READING, 2020-11-25)

#907

Green spaces are vital for the area, for wildlife, for recreation and for the community's physical and mental health.

Annabel Avery (Reading, 2020-11-25)

#909

There is over development of this area already, and at a time when there is so much emphasis on mental health and the scientifically proven beneficial effects of green space, it is madness to reduce what little green space there is left in this locality.

Philip Larsson (READING, 2020-11-25)

#910

It is vital that we retain our green spaces for wildlife and for local residents to enjoy.

Terence Huggins (Reading, 2020-11-25)

#912

This is a vital open space and also one that floods on a semi frequent basis (ca 1/yr) this is a lovely walk for my children both with us as parents but also daily with our childminder whose house is a 1 minute walk from this open space. They use the play park located towards the end of this space closer to Rushey Way daily or more in the summer especially.

Sarah Bailey (Winnersh, 2020-11-25)

#913

The will be no green spaces left if builders get their way

Jean Robbins (Tonbridge, 2020-11-25)

#915

To much green space is going, we need to keep this for our wellbeing

Pam Chart (Winnersh, Wokingham, 2020-11-26)

#918

I very much want to see the preservation of green spaces in Earley and across the M4 where massive and unwelcome house development and urbanisation projects are underway.

David Bunney (Earley, Reading, 2020-11-26)

#920

This looks like wanton destruction of a wildlife habitat and green space ahead of any planning permission being approved and granted. This appears to be a developing trend locally.

Stuart Hine (Reading, 2020-11-26)

#921

Needless destruction of this lovely wooded area. I frequently walk the length of Lower Earley way in these woods. Disgusted at the blatant ignoring of local needs. For what? They haven’t even got permission to build there so why trash it. Corporate vandalism at its worst.

Chris Starke (Reading, 2020-11-26)

#922

The destruction of a local well-used area and habitat should never have been allowed, letalone in such an underhand manner.

Jo Andrews (Earley, 2020-11-26)

#925

I regularly use this area to walk and run with my dog and it provides excellent green space for recreational use which has become especially important during the pandemic.

Lisbeth Hordley (Reading, 2020-11-26)

#933

I’m signing because I think it’s disgusting that valued natural environments can be ripped up without permission required. It’s a blatant attempt at subverting the challenges and ecological report would otherwise show for any proposed development.

Lianne Dance (Reading, 2020-11-26)

#936

Building by stealth. Not the way forward!

Stephen King (Wokingham, 2020-11-26)

#943

We need to save our green spaces for our wildlife and people to benefit from.

Susan Twigg (Reading, 2020-11-26)

#947

No communication or consideration to residents. Poor wildlife also

Helen Simmons (Reading, 2020-11-26)

#951

This is/was such a beautiful area to walk in and has been flattened! No more please! Lower Earley’s current infrastructure cannot cope with any more housing development

Pam Tripp (Reading, 2020-11-27)

#958

People need green spaces

Clare Buchta (Reading, 2020-11-27)

#960

There is so little open space left for people to enjoy. We need breathing space.

Elaine Spratling (Reading, 2020-11-27)

#963

Reading has been inundated with new housing developments and we need hiatus to understand the ability of the schools, roads and other infrastructure to cope

Jeff Birtwhistle (Reading, 2020-11-27)

#965

We must protect these green "lungs" and not develop any more vital open spaces

Chris Bintcliffe (Reading, 2020-11-27)

#966

I grew up in Earley and know the area. We need all the green space we can have, for recreation and conservation, there is enough building there

Fiona Edwards (Keynsham, 2020-11-28)

#967

Green spaces are important to the health and wellbeing of any community and they need protection.

Clare Mullaney (Reading, 2020-11-28)

#972

It’s vital we protect our green spaces for the survival of the planet - not to mention our health and well being.

Matt Dyson (Reading, 2020-11-29)

#980

North Wokingham is over-developed already, we do not need or want any more houses, and certainly not at the expense of this valuable area for human enjoyment and wildlife existence.

Celia Smith (Earley, 2020-11-30)

#982

We need to save our greenspaces from being destroyed forever

Bryony Aust (Reading, 2020-11-30)
