Comments

#608

We need to retain these green spaces in built up areas. Give the wildlife a chance!

Dave Grisman (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)

#609

I am concerned about green habitats being destroyed. I have heard that the owners are saying that there is no life on this land and that this allowed them to destroy all plant life present. I believe this is plainly deceptive.

Chris Brannan (Wokingham, 2020-11-22)

#611

The woodland walk that has been destroyed here has helped me so much this year to cope with the difficulties of the
Coronavirus pandemic. Local, accessible green spaces must be preserved for the mental and physical health of us all!

Julie Grisman (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)

#616

We need open green spaces in the over developed area we live in. This is ecological Vandalism.

Michael Smith (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#617

I’m appalled at the ever decreasing wild space.

Tony Mackenzie (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#622

I live in this area, the green is needed for wildlife. It all seems very underhand the way this has been done.

Bethany Hare (Wokingham, 2020-11-22)

#630

Because I lived in lower Earley as child, and was beautiful now there not much green left for wild life

Gemma Gleeson (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#632

There are enough new houses in this area and we need to keep our green spaces!

Gemma Hamer (Wokingham, 2020-11-22)

#634

We need to protect our Green space for the local wildlife and well being of the local community. This green corridor is important likes so many others in Lower Earley

Vivienne Rumbold (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#640

All local green spaces should be protected for all our futures.

Steve STEVENSON (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#644

Developers may own the land, they may have the rights to undertake "light gardening" as this kind of destruction is called, but it's local residents who have to live with the results, long after developers have been run out of town.

Caveat Lector (Winnersh, 2020-11-22)

#647

The loss of any green space in the area is disappointing, however the underhand way in which this sale and thereafter complete destruction of a wildlife habitat and local facility is appalling. It is very obvious that the owners have cleared this green space to preemp legitimate objection to a planning application and the planning department should make it clear that this cynical attempt to bypass the process is not acceptable

Stella Bailey (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#654

The green must be maintained at all costs

Christopher Bassett (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#655

It's important to retain all the green spaces left in Earley and resist further development as the town's infrastructure and facilities cannot cope with it. It is also vital to keep this green corridor for wildlife .

Anne Bassett (READING, 2020-11-22)

#656

It's imperative to save our wildlife and this green space should be protected. There are new houses going up everywhere and this causes wild animals to be displaced from their habitats. Please have a heart and save this land! Why not make a wildlife sanctuary instead??

Sarah Radley (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#657

Preserve the natural habitats for these animals

Dominique Marcham (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#664

Stop ruining wildlife friendly areas!

Ingrid Colton (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#670

We need our green spaces and they should not be bulldozed without permission

David Eversham (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#671

As local green space this land should remain protected.

Jennifer Manley (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#673

This is a beautiful area to walk through and does have a high variety of birds and other wildlife. Cannot believe it has been stripped like this!

Sharon Flen (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#679

I’m signing because I object to the land being destroyed to make way for property. The natural habitat of animals are bright lost and trees are being cut down. Has nothing been learned from David Attenborough about the loss of biodiversity. I want new trees to be planted and the land to be left alone.

Suniti Sharma (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#681

We as a family walk here regularly, it was a lovely wooded area to go and explore both for us and our dog. It was also a nice walk to the childminders rather then having to walk down the road.

Johanna Wilton (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)

#689

To save our green spaces

Chan Tankaria (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#690

The wildlife in Lower Earley will have nowhere left.

Shirley Austin (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)

#692

I used to live in Witcham Close until recently for 20 years and there was so much wildlife there, and it was a blessing to have woodland to walk in behind the house

Helen Renwick (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#694

These natural areas are important for wildlife, for the environment, to provide soundproofing against traffic noise.

Deborah Gueganton (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#698

This is one of the few green spaces left and need to be preserved

Keith Collyer (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#699

We need to preserve green spaces for future generations.

Keith Brill (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#700

There’s very little woodlands area in Lower Earley as it is. This land had been growing for over 30 years as nature intended and it’s now been destroyed in under 3 days.

Mark Turner (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#703

There is too much building in general

Paul Harrington (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#705

Despite what the developers say this is an important area for wildlife & there is too much development in the area.

Jo Phillips (Earley, Reading, 2020-11-22)

#709

We need green areas, lower earley has had enough!!

Sheryll Knight (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#710

I’m signing because the destruction of this wonderful natural place was a travesty and absolutely atrocious. You’re not local people. How would you like it if we did the same to a peaceful place near your home? No you wouldn’t would you? Disgusting human beings you are.

JoJo King (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)

#713

This behaviour is unacceptable and undemocratic.

Martin Dalton (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#721

I recently discovered this walk which enables a walk between Asda and Sindlesham mill with a rural reel. Clearly it is a vital green corridor. How anyone could think of chopping down this beautiful tree tunnel is beyond me.

Stephen Abery (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#723

These open space corridors are vital to the preservation of wildlife and the health of the communities through which they pass.

Glenys Burton (Ridgefield, 2020-11-22)

#725

I have enjoyed uninterrupted walks in this woodland area seeing a lot of varied wildlife daily since 1991. I am devasted at this unnecessary destruction. Lower Earley has so many houses, we need to save and protect green areas from development.

Karen Turner (Lower Earley, 2020-11-22)

#727

The area needs green spaces.

#742

I live in the Lower Earley which is close to the area and would like to keep the nature preserved.

Vamsi Jasti (Reading, 2020-11-22)

#755

This is a valuable public space that provides a barrier to air and noise pollution between the busy roads and residential area, and a wildlife corridor linking several larger habitats.

Roger May (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#765

It’s so sad to see the greenery going and poor wild life can’t imagine what they are going through please save nature.

Jyothi Mallampati (Earley, 2020-11-23)

#767

Much wildlife has been denied a habitat by this abominable act.

John Charles Green (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#778

My daughter has recently moved to Wild Close and loves feeing the hedgehogs and foxes that live in this woodland. She has also seen deer using this space

Mary Russ (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#780

1. The actions of the company are at best gaming the system/illegal. They should have waited until the decision on planning was made before removing vegetations.

2. It doesnt make sense to fill in this gap with Building. There is a continuous corridor of vegetation along the southern edge of the current development. This needs to be maintained for Wildlife and for residents enjoyment/exercise.

Roger Robinson (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#781

The wildlife is so lovely here. I walk here most days. I was so sad to see this all gone.

Katy Highfield (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#782

Green spaces need protecting

Jude Ingleby (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#783

It is quite clear they have destroyed the homes of wildlife, whatever they have said about there not being anything it is obvious this is an outright lie. Lower Earley is a lovely place made so by the green spaces that are in and around the area. Stop trying to turn it into a concrete jungle like everywhere else. You have flattered trees and destroyed the wildlife we here in Lower Earley happily live alongside. This is not okay.

Tara Smart (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#787

Greedy developers are depriving us of much needed green spaces and to preserve it for our wildlife

Susie Douglas-Smith (Lower Earley, 2020-11-23)

#788

Don’t let the council do what ever they wish, They are taking our wildlife & greenery away from us.

Nadeem Afsar (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#789

I'm disgusted by the destruction of wildlife habitat, this should be a protected green space

Wayne Shier (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#792

Anand Rengasamy (Readings, 2020-11-23)

Janice FRANCES (Reading, 2020-11-23)

Robert Williams (Earley Reading, 2020-11-23)

#796

Keep the green space

Gary Connolly (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#798

I care about my area and woods in my area

Rajwinder Singh (Reading, 2020-11-23)

#799

There is less and less green space in the area. WDC continue to ignore the strength of local feeling regarding over development
