The signatures on this  petition represent the many who are against the removal of all monuments located in The State Of Georgia! These monuments are to pay tribute to our local heroes of all walks of life, that paid the ultimate sacrifice to fight for freedom of all lives. My family like others in this state fought for the Confederacy and I do not want to see the memory's of these brave men erased!Leave our history alone! Black History Month has been forced on us do not take Our heritage away from us!

I stand for saving the monuments. They represent our Nations History, our great leaders, who fought and died for their cause. The civil war was fought over much more than slavery. To tear these statues down is a disgrace to our country.

I've lived in Walton County for over 16 years. I love this community and all the wonderful people here. I stand against anyone tearing down the beautiful historical sites and the teachable history it all represents, whether that history is at our old courthouse or at the Moores Ford Bridge. Don't erase the history! GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸

Karen Paul (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#697

History should be preserved not removed or written over

Kyle Williams (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#699

These statues are part of our history. My ancestors fought in these wars. Some lost their lifes for this land we live in and the things that are happening now I just no they'd be so hurt and disappointed. As far as slavery goes we didnt own slaves. To me our forefathers fought for us to have freedom and to respect the other person and right now we are truly being disrespected. Leave all these statues alone. Their part of our history and u cant change history. So everyone just look at each other without looking at race and let's just love each other and have a world that we can live in and not be scared to walk out our door.

Cathy Hughes (Monroe,Ga., 2020-06-30)

Lisa Granger (Loganville, 2020-06-30)

History needs to be remembered rather it was good or bad. We didn’t live in those times so why should anyone get angry at for monuments that remind us of past history. Leave them alone and let them stand tall as a reminder of things that have happened in the past that people survived!!! Just like today not everything is good so let’s teach our children how to learn history without anger. All families have someone in their family way back when that stood for something before any of us ever existed. What is a statue hurting by standing y’all!!! Be proud that we are not going through what happened then . Use history as something good and stop making it bad ... that was then and this is now......let the Monument stand.. let all monuments stand

Elaine Rutledge (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#724

I defend the values of the men and women That erected this statue and the the honor that is signifies to the brave soldiers that lost their lives doing what they believed to be right .

Alvin Lay (Monroe Georgia, 2020-06-30)

#728

There’s no better way to learn history than to go outdoors and see a memorial or monument that describes the events that perspired that helped write our nations existence. Good or bad reminders are necessary. To help reflect and contemplate where we once were and how far we’ve come.

Andrew Petoskey (Loganville, 2020-06-30)

#730

We need to keep them on the court yard square. Part of history.

Debbie Cox (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#731

My heritage is no less important than those who wish to hide it. History is not to agree or disagree with. It is there to learn from and remember. Please do not bend to these radicals.

Tammy Nunley (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

#745

I’m signing this because this is history and exactly that. It’s the past and whether one agrees with the past or not we all learn and grow from it. Taking it down will not make the past go away If others believe in something new then erect a new statue to look back on in years to come but don’t take our past from those that respect it.

Sherre Smith (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

Debbie Fincher (Monroe, 2020-06-30)

I believe that if we begin to remove monuments then their is no stopping point. If a group of faithful men want to remove MLK because He was not faithful then we will have to do that. You cannot change history but we should learn from it.
