The college nursery needs to stay opened to allow students who are parents to attend college as well
As having children.

Martina Chambers (Glasgow, 2022-02-08)

We need to do all we can to save a much needed and valued resource for both students and local community. The nursery has provided excellent early provision and enabled many parents to progress in education and employment which they would not have been able to do if this facility was not available. SAVE OUR NURSERIES

Lenny Cochrane (Paisley, 2022-02-09)

#427

Having the nursery is giving parents a chance to do something to better themselves and also gives the kids a chance to socialize with other children

Lorraine Shirley (Paisley pop, 2022-02-09)

#429

Much needed service for students .

Angela Mullan (Inverclyde, 2022-02-09)

#434

Lets keep our vital services for staff and students in house and in line with services that students who attend Universities enjoy. No cheapskate provision of services for Colleges staff and students.

I'm Signing because children at the beginning of their journey need structure, not constant change. Parents need childcare they are confident in when leaving their children in the care of others.

Paula Etherson (Glasgow, 2022-02-10)

#454

It is an essential service.

Kenny Drysdale (Rosewell, 2022-02-10)

#458

I believe that there is a definite need for this at all colleges which provides a great service and support for our students who want to educate themselves to their full potential.

Michelle Morrow (GLASGOW, 2022-02-10)

#461

This was an amenity taken away from my college that supplied and supported staff in need. It’s shouldn’t be taken away especially now.

Matthew Farnham (Edinburgh, 2022-02-10)

#462

Childcare is an essential provision for those entering or continuing Further Education.

Laura McKenna (Glasgow, 2022-02-10)

#463

Child care is not an added luxury for an educational establishment. It's essential, particularly for an establishment which focuses on vocational training and on adult returners to learning. This will cause severe problems for students with young families in order to save a minimal amount of money. An incredibly short sighted policy.

David Johnston (PAISLEY, 2022-02-10)

#468

I believe colleges should provide nursery places to students to allow uninterrupted study and access to quality childcare

William Findlay (Motherwell, 2022-02-10)

I would like the nursery to stay open as I have heard good feedback about it and I want my son to go to this nursary next year.

Sylwia Wojnarowska (Johnstone, 2022-02-10)

#478

I'm signing because I think that on-campus nursery provision is a very important service to allow parents who are predominantly women to attend college and increase their options for future employment. Without it many parents could not attend class.

Lisa Walsh (Glasgow, 2022-02-10)

#481

I'm signing because my son attended this nursery and through their support my son was able to develop and grow in his own way as he was diagnosed with Autism. The staff were amazing. Knowing I was only a stones throw away in college helped me to focus on my studies and not worry about childcare.

Michelle McPhee (Paisley, 2022-02-11)

It is the Best nursery ever. Mums and Dads who want to continue learning know children are safe and close. It is important especially for young parents.

I’m signing because my son went to this nursery it took me 3 nursery’s before I came across west college scotland nursery and I instantly fell in love with it and the teachers. The nursery as a whole is outstanding and should remain open i think it would be dreadful to close an establishment that is full of care love and respect in helping mould children. My son came on leaps and bounds when he attended this nursery. I still recommend the nursery to other mums because to me there is nothing they can Improve on as each of them fit the criteria for a perfect nursery teacher. The education they do with the children here is next to none and would be heartbreaking to neglect another child of the chance to attending here.

Lauren Mulvey (Paisley, 2022-02-11)

Removing the nursery prevents parents from furthering their education and getting a good job to support their family. Students cannot afford corporate nurseries due to thr excessive costs associated with them.
Closure of the university nursery would erode the skill set in the local community leading to more families and children in poverty within Paisley and surrounding areas!
Some of the children attending the nursery will be relying upon the service to provide heating, snacks and meals that their families may otherwise be unable to provide. It also provides invaluable opportunities for children to learn social and communications, opportunities that they would not get elsewhere.
This catastrophic decision by the university needs to be withdrawn.

My daughter went to this nursery for 2 years before starting primary 1 this year, they helped her confidence & eased her worries when i dropped her off, this service enables parents to drop their child(ren) off & go straight to classes as it helps its within college grounds, the staff in there are the most kindest, hard working & go abive & beyond for all kids,I think it's disgraceful to even consider closing the establishment down!!!

Leanne Reilly (Paisley, 2022-02-11)

#523

My kid goes there and she doesn’t stop talking about it! She loves the staff and other kids. Don’t shut it down!

Roberto Cann (Glasgow, 2022-02-11)

#527

I believe this is a vital and necessary facility in the College.
There is a need for a nursery as shown by current usage.
Many students and their families benefit from having this onsite which also ripples out having a positive and beneficial impact on many aspects of life not just of students but on industry, business and the local economy.
Having an on-site nursery allows students to further their education and employment opportunities which would not be possible if closed.

Marilyn Buchanan (Renfrew, 2022-02-11)

#531

All 3 of my children have went to this nursery over 19years, the staff have been amazing and it's been good going back after years to see the same friendly faces

Leanne Potts (Glasgow, 2022-02-11)

#532

Absolutely disgusted that this has even been suggested. If no college nursery provision it could stop mothers/fathers learning.

Heather Morrison (Paisley, 2022-02-11)

#539

Closing this type of facility denies a great education to two generations at once.

Jeff Meechan (Gl, 2022-02-11)

#554

This is an essential service for children and this nursery offers the very best of care, as such it must remain open.

Tony Meechan (Paisley, 2022-02-11)

My son spent 3 very happy years at this nursery, he has additional support needs and the staff went to the ends of the earth to ensure he had the very best care and early education, the nursery must stay open to give the other wee ones the opportunity of the same standard of care!

Caroline Cummings (Johnstone, 2022-02-11)

#568

I’m signing because my friend is one of the amazing nursery teachers.

CLAIRE MCKENZIE (Bridge Of Weir, 2022-02-11)

Nurseries on college campus are pivotal in ensuring that those students with childcare responsibilities can attend college courses. It gives them peace of mind knowing their child(ren) are close and being well cared for. It also provides jobs in the local area which can be employment also working towards recognised qualifications

Gillie McColl (Clydebank, 2022-02-11)

#572

My 3 children went to this nursery, I could never have went to college without the help of this nursery I will be forever grateful.

Deborah Gibson (Paisley, 2022-02-11)

#573

I am signing as a Trade Union official. The nursery could be expanded with plenty of marketing and increase in students to the campus will bring additional need. Closure of the nursery unfairly affects lone parents and young mothers, not only within the college (students and staff) but the wider community. It should be expanded and not closed. It is the future that we should be considering, not there here and now. Once something is lost, it is very difficult to have returned. We must protect all our crucial services within our local communities.

Mark Gillan (Inverclyde, Scotland, 2022-02-11)

#574

This is an invaluable service for parents who wish to continue with education.

Lindy Morgan (Glasgow, 2022-02-11)
