Sutton lane us dangerous even during the day time

Jayne Jessop (Steeton, 2021-09-22)

#413

These road safety measures are long overdue and it is a disgrace if this tragedy happened because of the lack of safe road conditions which should have been put in place long ago

Susan Pyrah (Keighley, 2021-09-22)

#415

I’m signing because of the terrible accident last Friday night. Pity something hasn’t been done much earlier as it’s long been obvious how dangerous it is to walk along that road. No good lowering speed limits because lots of people take absolutely no notice of speed limits!

Muriel Gee (Sutton-in-Craven, 2021-09-22)

#417

I live locally and know this road is dangerous for pedestrians

Janice Marlow (Keighley, 2021-09-22)

#418

The road is far too dangerous, something needs to be done ASAP!

Amy Cadwallader (West Yorkshire, 2021-09-22)

#436

I'm signing Because people treat our village as a rat run and drive at speed down Sutton Lane and Home Lane and Ellers so we need something done about it NOW!

Martin Rack (Sutton in Craven, 2021-09-22)

#437

I'm signing because all pedestrians have a right to feel safe as they walk around the village

Kathryn Foster (Silsden, 2021-09-22)

#442

We often travel on foot from Sutton to Eastburn and road really is dangerous.

Cosmin Aldea (Eastburn, 2021-09-22)

#443

I have lived in glusburn all my life and I know how dangerous the road can be on sutton lane as I use it daily I have 2 young children and a dog I never walk on this road as its so dangerous I walk on the beck side this road needs making safe what happened to that poor boy and his family should never of happened and should never let happen again it needs making safe for the local community

Claire Booth (Leeds, 2021-09-22)

#446

Because of the recent horrific death of a 9 year old, plus I walk my own children on the same road to visit my sister.

Matthew Paeglis (Bradford, 2021-09-22)

#449

Lives are being lost and it’s a dangerous place.

Jackie Treece (North Yorkshire, 2021-09-22)

Nicholas Ingleson (Keighley, 2021-09-22)

#451

Safer streets are important

Abi Sherlock (Bingley, 2021-09-22)

#452

Something needs to be done urgently on Sutton lane , pavement, lights, speed bumps, one way system - just so another innocent life is not lost.

Rachel McMahon (Keighley, 2021-09-22)

#454

The road is used as a rat-run, speeding and dangerous driving are common - measures must be taken to prevent further accidents.

The alternative footpath by the beck is secluded and unlit, and avoided by walkers after dark for different safety concerns. A path along Sutton Lane, with calming measures alongside will offer the greatest level of safety and improved wellbeing for the residents of Sutton.

David Smith (Sutton in Craven, 2021-09-22)

#459

I live in the village and want the roads safe for my family

Elizabeth Polignone (Sutton in Craven, 2021-09-23)

#461

I've lived in sutton all my life, some people use the village as a race track. Especially drivers coming down Ellers Road.

Adrian Throup (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#463

It was just a matter of time before someone was killed on Sutton Lane it seriously needs something done about it .

Diana Filkin (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#464

Action needs to be taken to make this road safer as a priority. Lighting is necessary, a footpath provided and the speed limit to 20 mph.

Mrs Audrey Hocaniuk (Cross Hills, 2021-09-23)

#467

I’ve lived in Sutton a long time and it has got worse and worse with cars and dangerous driving. Sutton lane has needed a path for far too long now.

Vicki Seaton (Skipton, 2021-09-23)

#472

I live on the edge of the village and the number of cars I hear speeding away down Sutton Lane is very worrying. Lights and speed cameras are needed

Allison Booth (Sutton in craven, 2021-09-23)

#473

I an signing because something needs to be done about the speed on these roads

Connie Currie (KEIGHLEY, 2021-09-23)

#476

Elizabeth rush

Elizabeth Rush (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

We need to do something before there is another fatality.

Hazel Spencer (Sutton in Craven, Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#481

Something needs to be done

Guerino DE RIENZO (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#494

I grew up in Sutton and until recently lived there again. Sutton Lane has always been dangerous for pedestrians. Main St., High St., Holme Lane and other through-roads are simply too busy and with parked cars which restrict drivers' visibility.

Tim Clarke (Cowling, 2021-09-23)

#495

We do not want any more tragic incidents in our community. We need measures in place to protect our children and adults on this very busy unpaved road.

Sue Waind (Crosshills, 2021-09-23)

#497

There is far too much traffic coming through our village and people use it as a rat run. Sutton Lane is so dangerous and something needs to be done before another life is tragically lost.

I'd also like to raise concerns over Ellers Road. The road can't cope with the amount of traffic on it and we see accidents on a regular occurrence with people driving far too fast near our home at the top! The narrow bit at the bottom is atrocious and impassible with the amount of cars that now use that road. Please review this road too!!

Steph Morgan (Sutton-In-Craven, 2021-09-23)

#499

It's a death trap where this accident could have been avoided.

Dan Rainford (Eastburn, 2021-09-23)

#504

It needs to be sorted before anyone else loses their life.

Martin Pearson (Sutton-In-Craven, 2021-09-23)

#505

The road is so dangerous and needs urgent attention so there are no more accidents or fatalities. This road is used by cyclists and pedestrians on a regular basis

Sarah Clipston (Crosshills, 2021-09-23)

#506

That road is so dangerous. It is a main linking road between villages and it is so unsafe. Drivers speed and swerve all over that road and there is no safe way for pedestrians to go.

Laura Warren (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#507

Nine year olds shouldn't be dying, and this shouldn't be necessary to make councils listen

Rachel Kerr (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#508

There is a risk for further accidents due to the lack of pavement on this road.
Also am witness to speeding drivers regularly coming through the village.

Claire Leake (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#509

We don’t need to lose any more lives due to dangerous drivers and dark, unlit roads with no paths!

Beth Guest (Silsden, 2021-09-23)

#512

Due to the sad accident that happened at the weekend

Kelly-Louise Hawker (Silsden, 2021-09-23)

#513

I live and walk around these areas and particularly when walking with my dog and my son who is in a wheelchair, even in broad daylight it is so dangerous walking along the road from sutton to eastburn

Samantha Slingsby (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#515

The road is too narrow, too fast and unsafe

Jennifer Riddiough (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#516

The accident that occurred Friday resulting in the death of a 9year old boy!

Carly Ashton (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#518

This is my grandchildren’s route to school. They need to be safe on a public highway, both in a vehicle and as pedestrians. Creating a permissive footpath along the field edge would be good and take very little farming land. We’re all being encouraged to walk more and drive less.

Cynthia Prior (Ludlow, 2021-09-23)

#525

The traffic coming through the village is escalating. Being used as rat run. The road has no pavement and is poorly lit.

Anne Deegan (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#528

The lack of a pavement on a road used by lots of pedestrians has caused the loss of a young life. It needs sorting ASAP

Richard Oddy (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#529

The whole of Sutton-In-Craven NEEDS to be 20mph!!

JoAnne Stinson (Nr Skipton, 2021-09-23)

#530

Make the roads safe

Susan Kelly (Eastburn, 2021-09-23)

#532

Iam totally numb at the fatal accident at the weekend can't believe a young child lost his precious life 💔

Karen Peat (Sutton-in-Craven, 2021-09-23)

#537

Most of my family live there, and lack of safety on these roads is not a new problem. It is so distressing that a child's death has had to galvanise action.

Joyce Hey (KEIGHLEYjoy, 2021-09-23)

#538

I walk to work every day along Sutton Lane. It is so dangerous without a path. I have been pushed against the wall side countless times. It is a busy walking route and has needed a path for years.

Judith Vickers (Glusburn, 2021-09-23)

#541

All the roads in Sutton need calming measures especially the Ellers that’s also used like a racing track

Rachel Roberts (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#543

The recent passing of the young man with his whole life ahead of him has rocked the community, we need to make a positive out of this heartbreaking tragic event and try prevent anything like this happening again

Lauren Cox (Crosshills Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#544

We desperately need a safe pavement from Eastburn to Sutton

Carla Meakin (Keighley, 2021-09-23)

#545

Traffic calming much needed

Philip Blackburn (Sutton - In - Craven, 2021-09-23)

#550

There are drivers who drive really fast along this lane and its awful for pedestrians who are walking along

Sarah Williams (Nr keighley, 2021-09-23)

#551

It’s taken the life of my grandson 😢 I never want another nana to feel the pain I am feeling for the loss of my grandson & the pain his parents must be going through RIP George

Linda Allport (Sutton in craven, 2021-09-23)

#559

I’m signing this petition because there’s going to be another tragedy in the village. I’ve witnessed some very dangerous speeding cars going through the village especially down Sutton Lane, Main Street and Bridge Road and also down Gordon Street where many families with young children live. I believe the roads need more traffic calming measures like speed bumps and lower the speed limits etc. I also think the parking issues need addressing as people park very close to junctions blocking the view when pulling out onto main roads especially when some drivers are exceeding the speed limit.

Andy Cowgill (Keighley, 2021-09-24)

#560

This is my home, a lovely place where tragically a child has died due to the lack of a basic footpath in a short strip of road…very very sad.
I personally run along that route and get nervous myself running through that strip of road. It is dangerous.

Paul Walker (KEIGHLEY, 2021-09-24)

#562

It is the direct route between my child’s school & my home & the fact it is unsafe to walk is silly. After this terrible accident please let something positive come from it

Rachel King (Eastburn, 2021-09-24)

#566

I want safer roads for my family and I to walk, run and cycle on.

Ben Lazenby (Glusburn, 2021-09-24)

#567

The roads are dangerous. The verges are overgrown. Parking is horrendous by the park and schools.

Anita Robertson (Keighley, 2021-09-24)

#569

The roads are bad
I have children
On a night you can here cars racing about

Joanne Wildman (Keighley, 2021-09-24)

#573

The roads around the village need some speed reduction measures putting in place especially on Sutton Lane where there isnt a footpath poor street lighting and speed bumps are needed

Debbie Rayner (Sutton in Craven, 2021-09-24)

#574

This road is the most dangerous road is has no public walk way it’s unlit on an evening/night and is extremely narrow for 2 cars. There should have been a path put in years ago.

Rachel Beattie (Eastburn, 2021-09-24)

#582

I feel the road from Eadtburn to Sutton is so unsafe and needs adequate lighting and pavements.

Julie Demain (Keighley, 2021-09-24)

#588

something needs to change.

gracie gray (sutton, 2021-09-24)

#590

It is important that pedestrians of all ages can walk safely along the roads that serve the village.

Elaine Appelbee (Keighley, 2021-09-25)

#596

The road is dangerous, a footpath would help so many people.

Katy Walsh (Keighley, 2021-09-25)

#598

The road is unsafe and needs restrictions putting in Oldcastle before another accident happens.

Jackie Daley (Keighley, 2021-09-25)

#599

Something needs to be done to make walking down Sutton Lane safer for pedestrians.
Walking down the Beck side just isn't a safe alternative due to being so secluded & darker nights.

A path on the opposite side of the wall only needs to be 3/4ft wide & the farmers obviously don't use it because it's overgrown..... Something needs to be done

Terence Hargreaves (Bradford, 2021-09-25)

#600

Footpath needed urgent

Mark Crossley (Sutton, 2021-09-25)
