Support 14 Broadway Fence Planning Permission

Comments

#403

Leeds City Council need to measure the amount of positive comments against the negative before taking any further action.

Richard Larkins (Church Stretton, 2021-04-27)

#404

this affects everyone in Leeds who wants to erect fencing at their property. Typical of Leeds City Council to move the goalposts to suit them.

Maria Parkins (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#405

this is a security issue and as the fence complies with the height restrictions as per Leeds City Councils website guidelines, it should, in my opinion be allowed

Elizabeth Charnock (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#408

The fence is below the maximum height of 2 metres. It is a well constructed fence and gives extra security to the owners. It is pleasing to look at. I dont know why someone has complained about this fence,

Michele Hartlebury (Bradford, 2021-04-27)

#413

I'm signing because this couple are doing their best to make the fence look good for the area and for the security of their property...

Christine Smith (Rothwell, Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#414

Although I don't live in the area, I believe the reasons given for building the fence are perfectly valid, and also the look of the fence is perfectly acceptable.

Paul BRANCHETT (Shipley, 2021-04-27)

#415

Just bloody wrong to complain about such a trivial thing. Get a life!

John James (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#419

The fence looks fantastic,
Very tidy, smart and looks really great

Emma Trei (Wa, 2021-04-27)

#420

why should they have to drop their fence for 1 commplaint, i put up a fence round my property and its 6 foot tall, its your property not the council jobsworth good luck mate and ask who the complaint is from instead of hiding

mark dillon (leeds, 2021-04-27)

#421

There are many more important things in life to worry about than somebody's fence. It's a nice fence. Doesn't hurt anyone, doesn't affect anything in a negative way, and keeps criminals out of the property. Leave it alone!

Chris Jackson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#422

I have been broken into as well. It's very distressing and a smart fence such as that is much better than the dozens of overgrown privet and fir trees scattered about.

David Patrick (LEEDS, 2021-04-27)

#423

The complaint is unnecessary. I have a fence that I overlook, that is over 6 feet tall. And I don't have a problem with it. Perhaps the complainant has a personal reason for wanting it lowered

JOHN CALE (LEEDS, 2021-04-27)

#425

This fence is fully acceptable, nothing wrong with it

Samantha Wiltshire (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#427

I’ve never heard anything so ridiculous
The fence is a legal height

paula schofield (leeds, 2021-04-27)

#429

It should stay, its clean and tidy and it does add to the area showing that people care about their property and the area they live in.

Jacqui McMahon (Carlisle, 2021-04-27)

#430

It's a lovely fence, very smart, nothing wrong with people trying to protect themselves

Alex Dalton (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#433

I'm signing because they need to leave this people and that fence alone. No planning permission needed under 6ft so no need for retroactive permission. Maybe the council should do more for the security of its people, instead of trying to prevent crime all by ourselves with fences and cctv.
Plus it looks very nice. Good job!

John Smith (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#435

i understand the need to keep the intruders away to stay safe and keep the family safe. Without harm to anybody.

Pawel Burski (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#436

The fence is not out of place and it well erected not like the privets near me that’s out of control and higher than that

Sandra Honey (LEEDS, 2021-04-27)

#437

It's ridiculous and petty

Gemma Hooper (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#438

This isnt

Lindsay Mcloughlin Pierce (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#442

The fence should be allowed.

Stephanie Kozlow (BRADFORD, 2021-04-27)

#443

Only one person has complained. It is under 6' so doesn't need planning permission.

Elizabeth Crosland (Garforth Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#447

It's wrong that there's an objection. It's an attractive fence, and the height is quite acceptable.

Sandr Rawding (Harrogate, 2021-04-27)

#448

im signing because its not an eyesore and we need peace of mind when we live in areas where burglaries are likely to happen , we get no protection from council or police ,

Paul Westwood (pontefract, 2021-04-27)

#451

They have payed a lot of money to make their property look nice and tidy and hopefully keep criminals out

Sharon Jenkinson (LEEDS, 2021-04-27)

#453

the fence is neat and tidy, nothing wrong with it. better for security .

miss shannon stower (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#456

I’m signing this as I believe as tentents we should be able to have are own fence instead of over grown bushes

Debbie Quinn (Leeds 12, 2021-04-27)

#458

The fence is for security, it is not unsightly and you can put a fence up if it is under 6 feet tall

Yvonne Craven (Bradford, 2021-04-27)

#461

The fence looks lovely and isnt obstructing anyones view. It offers the residents of the house security and with that goes peace of mind.

Tracey Hayes (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#464

They should be allowed the fence

Michelle Parker (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#465

People should have a rite to protect their property

Jeanette Pearson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#469

I feel the fence adds charm and character to the property as well as security for the home owner

Stephen hartshorne (Bradford, 2021-04-27)

#470

The fence is smart and not an eyesore it does not detract from the area and is not imposing or causing an obstruction.

Sarah Darcy (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#472

The fence looks fine. It's also a deterent to would be burglars or anti social behaviour. It enhances the look of the street.

Linda Smith (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#473

I don't see a problem it looks nice and it is in keeping with the area it's just people who are bored and nothing else to do but cause trouble and distress to others

Melanie Hilton (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#475

I am signing because I believe it is their own choice what fence they will have by their own home and it looks Great!!

Adela Pejsova (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#476

I am signing because this is a ridiculous decision just to cause distress to the tenants by some jobsworth. A Ross the road, the height of the hedging certainly looks to be way higher than the neat fence. Whoever complained, is it because they can’t actually see into the residents property. I am appalled at your decision Leeds Council and the decision wants overturning immediately. Do you employ anyone there with common sense?

Susan Johnson (Wakefield, 2021-04-27)

#479

The regulation is 2 metres, looks beautiful and has contributed helping crime in the vicinity.

Balbir Singh (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#481

Leave this family be!

Sarah Cordingley (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#483

Come on..leave the fence alone

Christopher Johnson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#484

What a ridiculous rule the council officer needs to concentrate on more important things like rubbish in the streets and road sweeping . The complainant needs naming and shaming.

Alan Denton (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#488

Its a private residence who has kept within the rules whose business is it how the fence is

Helen Langfield (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#489

it is a very good fence that makes the outside of the house look smart and doesn't have any detrimental effect on the neighbours.

Veronica Meethan (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#491

It's not planning law

Richard Shaw (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#497

This fence should be allowed to stay to keep the property and the occupiers safe.

Teresa Leake (Wakefield, 2021-04-27)

#499

The fence is less that 6ft and the we should be able to make our houses secure without worrying that councils don’t care.

Emma Bottomley (CASTLEFORD, 2021-04-27)

#503

The fence looks lovely and tidy. Why should it be taken down when there are far larger untidy hedges in people's gardens in Leeds.Come on Leeds city council there are far worse buildings that get planning consent and if that's all a neighbour had to worry about then they need to get a grip

Tracey Robinson (LEEDS, 2021-04-27)

#504

We need security and police no longer patrol our streets

Colleen Cooper (Wakefield, 2021-04-27)

#512

I don't see a problem with the fence people should be able to secure there property

Cheryl Long (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#514

These residents need to be safe. Stop preventing that with short sightedness.

Ron Revell (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#517

This is petty and disgusting with what’s going on around the world at the moment all because the fence is 5ft!

Craig Stevens (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#521

The council are wrong and the fence is not an eyesore like an overgrown hedge.

Paul Stringer (Drighlington, 2021-04-27)

#522

A 5ft fence isn’t an obstruction, people should be able to secure their property and feel safe.

Sarah Brownsmith (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#525

Let them protect the belongings stop been daft

Ash Heaney (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#530

The idea of even asking someone to take this down is completely rediculous

Shelley Vernon (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#533

The corrupt council make the laws up as they go along, you do need need planning permission to have A 6ft or under fence on A normal street, the only time you are only allowed to have A 3ft fence is if you live right next to A very busy main road & the reason for that is so cars can see A child running out & can stop in time!!!

lance windsor (Bradford, 2021-04-27)

#538

The fence is fine, looks neat and tidy.

Rachel Dobson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#543

The fence in question is not blocking the sightlines of cars or creating blind corners at intersections, it appears to be of good quality and is only slightly higher than the hedge of the next door property. It is not aesthetically displeasing in anyway and it is in no way detrimental to the neighbouring properties. I can see no reason why the fence should not gain planning permission.

Julie Warren (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#547

The fence is helping to protect this families home and should stay !

Lesley Bransby (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#548

Everyone should feel safe in their garden and home I was told by council you can’t exceed 6ft so I don’t see why they need to remove fence . It makes them feel safe and secure.

gillian howe (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#551

How ******* dare someone complain about someone else wanting to protect their property! And it’s so wrong of LCC to demand this fence be taken down. If anything I would take this even higher to 6ft. Who the***** has time to even complain about someone’s fence anyway. If anything, I would be concerned at the fact a complaint has been put in and someone else doesn’t want you to have the privacy you should rightly have!!!

As another point, if LCC was offering these fences out as part of a scheme, every Tom, dick and Harry would be having one on this estate.

Fuck off and mind your own business. I cannot believe my ******* taxes are been spent settling a dispute over a fence.

What is our council coming to? ******* set of wet wipes the lot of you.

Let the people keep their ******* fence. It’s not bothering anyone and makes them feel safe and secure? Wrong uns LCC if this fence gets taken down, absolute jokers.

Nick G (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#552

I feel that anything that improves the area and makes a statement that someone has pride in the area that they live should be encouraged and not discouraged, there are too many properties that are not loved and neglected, let's show some encouragement to people improving their surroundings.

Helen Hart (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#553

It is perfectly reasonable to erect the fence, lower than 6ft in order to improve safety and security of your own home. All fences around my neighbourhood back gardens are about 5-6ft. It is extremely petty to indulge just one complainant whwn someone's security is at risk.

Lesley Rumgay (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#554

I feel that the fence is suitable and if you look around other peoples gardens and hedges are a disgrace the owners are protecting their property from crime .

Louise Hall (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#555

Everyone needs to feel secure in their own home, the fence looks neat and tidy, and in times like these extra security is needed. Rules need to be changed

Liz Clark (Ripon, 2021-04-27)

#558

Garden 1, half built cars in the garden - Fine Sir
Garden 2, 4' high grass - Fine Sir
Garden 3, dogs barking till 2am - Fine Sir
Garden 4, 8' high, unkempt hedge - Fine Sir
Garden 5, 5' high, smart, secure fence - You're facking nicked my son!

Steve Brown (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#560

Absolute disgrace this has been imposed when you are trying to protect your own property.

Kellie chipchase (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#562

It looks neat and tidy and alot nicer than the over grown hedges.

Jessica Raimond (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#565

I'm signing because the gentleman is well within the confines of the law to erect a fence up to 2 metres tall on his boundary. Leeds City Council representatives.......you're a complete joke and this situation needs an inquiry held!!

David Fox (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#568

I feel that it is in keeping within the surrounding area and of the same height as my LCC constructed fence around my home. The fence is well constructed and not offensive or detrimental in any way.

Dean Mitchell (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#569

People should be able to fence off there property without any comeback. The fence isn’t an eyesore so I really don’t see what the issue is

Jenna Overbury (Elgin, 2021-04-27)

#570

It’s ridiculous of the council to laud them take it down

Tracie Ryder (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#575

There is nothing wrong with this fence ! Its clean and nicely put up . Rather this than a dirty or overgrown garden which the council turn a blind eye to

Shabaz Khan (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#576

It’s for there safety and isn’t harming anyone!

Kahlea Tomlinson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#578

There is nothing wrong with the fence. It is keeping with the area and looked the rules the council set out on their website.

Emma Walker (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#583

I think it looks ok and in this day and age everybody needs to feel safe

Susan Kelly (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#586

It look better than hedges and makes the area look smarter

Michelle Wimbles (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#590

Absolutely ridiculous that this is even an issue. Leeds city council need to concentrate on the properties that don't look after their gardens.

Barbara Binks (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#591

You are allowed a fence upto 6 foot on a roadside,I'd get the council to double check the laws, someones trying it on I think

COLIN HORSMAN (Bradford, 2021-04-27)

#595

It is within the law.

Babs Devane (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#597

We need to keep our bones safe

Linda Chadwick (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#598

Plot twist. It was the burglars who dobbed you in!

Funny Guy (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#600

Its a nice fence

James McLean (Leeds, 2021-04-27)
