END THE NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

Lockdown has been extended way beyond the time that was purposed for government to get the health facilities ready. It should cease and enable the economy to resume and places of religion to operate although under social distancing methods.

Shannon Maree (Cape Town, 2020-05-25)

98.3% of cases of Covid 19 are mild. The amount of deaths is minimal when you look at deaths due to heart attacks, HIV, TB, etc. By making the people wear masks and social distancing you are reducing oxygen intake and reducing the natural development of antibodies to many other virus and diseases. By having a lockdown you are killing those with diabetes as they can't earn to feed themselves and go into hyperglycemic shock. By continuing lockdown you are essentially murdering them, which is more than the deaths by the virus.

Gwen Edgar (Cape town, 2020-05-26)

#455

This is not benificial to anyone. This is a blatant attempt at control and state capture. The restrictions imposed on nonsensical and an attack on my constitutional rights. Only alowed to do things where the state receives income. Churches need to be opened as does parliament. The NCC is not legal and they are wrongly imposing unfair laws and rules.

This lockdown has cost our lively hood, our free will and we have lost everything we have worked so hard to build up. Both me and my partner are on the point of loding our jobs completely. The uif fund has yet to pay us or help us, we dont qualify for any grants or food. We cant live like this anymore

Yolande Putter (Germiston, 2020-05-26)

#468

This is an infringement of my Constitutional and Basic Humam Rights and freedom to earn a living. People are dying of hunger and getting food has been politicized. Not even a state of emergency can be handled this way. Stop these riduculous rules and regulations now and lift the lockdown responsibly NOW.

People work hard for their money to support their families. Lift the lockdown so everybody can go on with their lifes. Why starve people to take their jobs away, yet they mention time and time again about jib losses due to Lockdown regulations. People build their businesses from scratch and work hard to keep it going. ALL businesses should be seen as essential. PLEASE GIVE US OUR RIGHTS AND LIFE BACK. END THE LOCKDOWN..
Thank you

I've been waiting at home for the past 60days like a good little citizen, waiting for the lockdown to get to lv2. That's when I can reopen, unfortunately I've had to let my staff of 17years and 9 years respectively go due to NO ******* work, I'm slowly losing my patience with this government that haven't got a clue what they are doing.

#509

I don't believe this is really a pandemic, there is a hidden agenda behind all of this

Ansie Dixon (Brakpan, 2020-05-28)

#510

This lockdown is infringing on my rights as a human and is in any event not working. The police are policing soft targets while the majority of the country continues as if there is no virus. The people have not been educated about this whole pandemic so what is the point then if 70 % of the country does not understand what is going on. Our essential workers will be killing us as the areas where they live are hotspots but they move into different areas to work!!!

Zarin Buys (Cape Town, 2020-05-28)

#511

End the lock down, safe our lives, jobs, lively hood, economy and our Country. Government is taking this way too far.... Killing everything and everyone in it's path, they Do Not care about us at all, but using this "virus" for their own dark agenda. Stop the Lock down, end it now!

Its all based on lies and deceptions and a hidden agenda. Businesses are closing, people losing their livelihoods and the ability to feed their families. This is forced control and an effort to subject us to communistic rule.....WE WILL NOT BEND THE KNEE TO A COMMUNISTIC REGIME AND THEIR RULES !!!

#539

The lock down with result in more deaths due to starvation as well as stress rage etc...our economy is being mismanaged and the townships where risk is high is not being managed anyway. .the whole thing is an exaggerated farce

Desiree Koen (Durban, 2020-05-29)

#541

This lockdown is not justifiable if you compare the deaths of TB and other diceases compare to corona . And considering the economic damage caused that will lead to mass starvation of the people of South Africa.
As well as people using the virus are being used with hiddin agendas to make money and to increase their political power.

Erina Van Schoor (Melkbosstrand, 2020-05-29)

#542

If you don't end the lockdown, we going to loose our jobs.

Maria Fouche (Durban, 2020-05-29)

#543

My heart breaks for the people that had lost or will loose their jobs, they will put an added burden on Government that Government cannot afford. South Africa is in dire need of people earning an income, tax income and to get out of the gutter.

Dalene Janse Van Rensburg (Roodepoort, 2020-05-29)

#544

SA would never be cleaned of the virus. Its here to stay, wear your mask and wash your hands and keep safe. Let our schools open, let our restaurants and bars open, let the hairdressers open, this is utter nonsense. Not allowed to smoke, seriously. Wake up

Karolien Janse van Rensburg (Vrede, 2020-05-29)

#549

If schools can open surely businesses can! All of us are responsible for our and our familiy's health! We are adults and we do have a right to live. More people die from other illnesses and murder than from the virus! People need to work for a salary to make living. If goverment can provide each and every citizen in this country with an acceptable amount of money, they are welcome to keep the lockdown but if not open SA! The R350 a month is not enough for a month's living expenses. If the ministers and the president can live with that they urgently need to show us how to do it. If they give up on their enormous salaries they can keep the lockdown in place. How many people received the R350 rand? People go without food, why? People already lost their jobs due to business closures! The law inforcement is in any case a joke! They are taking our human rights away.

I’m signing because I’m part of the small business section under hair dressers and beauty salons. I have not been able to work since the start of lockdown and I need to work to earn money to live and cannot wait until level 1. If clothing, alcohol and jewelry shops can open why can’t we? We are more hygienic and sanitize on a regular basis as is and only deal with one client at a time. So please allow us to open under level 3.
