He doesn't deserve it(Preston, 2018-10-06)
#405
He deserves life(Carlisle, 2018-10-06)
#406
I'm signing this becuase I feel it's a joke of a sentence to begin with and yet the driver has the audacity to appeal, I hope instead of lessening the sentence the next judge doubles it for each loss as I saw how it affected both the families and friends of these two girls(Cumbria, 2018-10-06)
#408
I think it's disgusting that this man was given such a lenient sentence in the first place!(Preston, 2018-10-06)
#409
It's about time that real sentences are handed out to those that are killed through texting while driving and dangerous driving . The effects to the families left behind is horrendous . Hope that they give him a longer sentence which is more appropriate. I know no sentence is ever long enough for not having a family member still around but 6 years for 2 young lives taken away is nowhere near justice in my eyes(Preston, 2018-10-06)
#413
Them poor girls deserve justice(Preston, 2018-10-06)

It’s tragic this happened and two lives have been taken(Preston, 2018-10-06)

This guy took two young girls lives and is now trying to get away with it. He should stay in jail.(Preston, 2018-10-06)
#416
This person killed two girls due to his negligent driving(Preston, 2018-10-06)
#419
I believe that the sentence given is justified and shouldn't be up for appeal. People's life's have been destroyed and the deaths were avoidable. The punishment fits the crime!!!(Preston, 2018-10-06)

He chose to look at his phone (and may have done it many times before without repercussions) but you cannot EVER anticipate the road ahead. Hazards of all descriptions can occur in any stretch of any road. You are taught hazard perception and have to pass a theory test to this effect. Pedestrians can be the biggest hazard so be vigilant at all times. To be at the wheel of a deadly weapon when driven at any speed is a privilege and should be treated in that way. To be distracted by a text message and to feel it necessary to look at and respond whilst travelling at such a speed in a vehicle that could and DID cause tragic consequences is unforgivable. Put him in the shoes of those families devastated by his choices and see how he would feel. Two young innocent lives taken by someone who didn’t use his training which granted him a licence in the first place.(Preston, 2018-10-06)

I'm signing because 1,5 years per life is simply not enough punishment. He has not shown enough remorse, and appealing so early is an insult.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#440
We must uphold this sentence to send a clear message that texting and driving can and does kill people. not acceptable he can try and wheedle out of this there is no excuse.(rochdale, 2018-10-07)
#444
this Sentence for 2 lives is ridiculous. If you take a life , you should serve life.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#445
this is as bad as murder. and should carry a life sentence. and a lifetime driving ban(MORECAMBE, 2018-10-07)
#450
1.5years for taking a life is an insult(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#451
Too often these types of crimes are not punished. It is murder. Plain n simple. He just used a car instead of a gun. It was foreseeable. Serve the full sentence for murder. Not a token one.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#452
The sentence he received wasn't enoughFor the death of 2 young people
Should have been at least 10 years
(Preston, Lancashire, 2018-10-07)
#454
Driving while using a mobile phone is so very dangerous,he had no consideration for other drivers and pedestrians,he needs to do more time behind bars not less.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#455
This person should be sent down for two life sentances as hes taken 2 young lifes(Blackpool, 2018-10-07)
#457
Rachel used to work with me, she was a lovely person and the sentence in this case was a disgrace. 1.5 years taken of his like to take each of their entire lives away, that’s not justice it’s a cop out and disgusting, their families deserve justice not for him to come out and do it again if they just let him off.(Southport, 2018-10-07)
#458
Current sentencing for this kind of offence is far to lenient given that most serve only half the sentence given makes a complete mockery of our judicial system.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#460
The sentance is far too short. He took 2 young girls lifes !!!(preston, 2018-10-07)
#465
He needs to serve justice, he took 2 lives and ruined many more through a selfish and wreckless act. If he's out before justice is served he'll be back driving on our roads putting us all at risk(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#467
It should be a life for a life in the case of this. I understand accidents happen, however this was preventable and he is failing to accept any responsibility. Two lives!! Not one! Two!! Fast enough and no attention to mow down 3 people and kill two of them and still not accept texting was a huge factor. He shouldn't be appealing this. He's lucky he got such a short sentence for such a henoius outcome. He should accept it and do the time. Appealing shows no remorse or culpability. Disgusting really.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#470
He didn’t get long enough in the first place(Lancashire, 2018-10-07)
#473
I’m horrified at the leniency of his original sentence but to then appeal it is evil and shows absolutely no remorse(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#474
He didn’t get long enough.. it’s an insult to tbsss girls lives(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#475
He wasn’t given long enough to begin with, plus he’s shown no remorse for his victims only himself.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#477
It's the right thing to do(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#478
The lives of these two girls are worth more than the sentence he has already received, I lesser sentence is unjustified, he’s shown no remorse for what has happened and should respect the law, along with the consequences of his actions leading up to this tragedy.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#486
No justification for using a mobile whilst driving, killed 2 girls, should of got longer.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#487
His sentence was too leniant to begin with he should serve the whole 6 years and nothing less. It's disgusting!(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#490
This man has no right to appeal. He’s has taken life’s and had been proven to have been driving dangerously.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#491
I miss you so much girls. This isn't fair at all..(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#496
The sentence he has been given is nothing for what he has done taking two young girls life’s(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#498
It’s injustice(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#499
Harsher sentences are needed(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#502
The sentence recieved for two deaths caused by dangerous driving is far to lenient, this man should be receiving two life sentences for the two poor kills he killed.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#503
He has taken 2 young lives away. Rest of their lives ahead of them to spend just 1 and a half years for each life he has ripped away. Disgusting(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#505
In my opinion the sentence of 6 years isn't enough to begin with This will only probably be 3yr serving time which isn't anywhere near the sentence he deserved by killing 2 pedestrians so for him to appeal is no more than selfishness and disregard for life The sentence should be increased for his total lack of remorse(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#507
The sentencing was far too lenient, 3 years per life is disgusting. The fact that he’s appealing this is appalling, does not reflect remorse.(Blackpool, 2018-10-07)
#513
The sentence should be longer never mind an appeal(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#514
The guy should get life(Preston lancs, 2018-10-07)
#515
I’m signing this petition because I think it’s disgracful the fact he’s even considering this, he showed no remorse what so ever at the fact he’s killed 2 young ladies because his life on his mobile is more important that safe driving.I personally think that ANYONE caught driving whilst on the phones should automatically have their licenses shredded and banned from re-applying for it for 5 years.
It’s about time the Government and The Law listened too the public and made flouting the law more serious.
(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#516
its time the punishment was to meet the crime ..if we continue to let these people of then they will be no justice left.should have at least 10 years not six and serve the full amount(heckmondwike, 2018-10-07)
#518
If you break the law, you should pay the full sentence, no excuse, how can people be deterred away from committing crimes when the law starts being lenient and Prisons become more like hotels(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#519
The sentence he received was too lenient .(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#522
He has caused deaths by breaking the law. Personally I believe he should have been on manslaughter charges as he was clearly aware of the dangers of what he was doing. He is just plain arrogant.(Telford, 2018-10-07)
#524
Appalling crimes like this occur too often. An adequate deterrent is necessary to try to reduce tragic and avoidable deaths or injuries.(Blackburn, 2018-10-07)
#531
I believe he should have got longer.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#535
Because this is happening far too muchAnd stiffer sentence is needed.and should be given life for what he did.
(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#537
The sentence was too lenient for the death of the two girls anyway! He was using his mobile, he killed two innocent girls and he should be serving life! That at least that would be some kind of justice for their families!
(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#539
This criminal should have been sentenced to murder and serve life.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#541
Absolutely disgusting that he feels 6 years is to long when taking two young girls lives, while he was texting on his phone. Six years isn’t long enough.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#554
I believe the lives of those two innocent young girls deserve greater justice than the three year sentence issued to Mohamed Salman Patel. This appeal insults the families and friends of those effected by this terrible loss. I trust this appeal will lead the judge to reconsider sentencing by increasing the inadequate sentence first provided.(Chorley, 2018-10-07)
#556
I think the original sentence was way to short in the first place. If this appeal goes ahead then i hope the judge denies him of a reduced sentence and extends it considerably. This person has took the lives of two people already, not to mention the friends and families, the friends that were there and survived are going to be haunted by nightmares and flashbacks. All these innocent people affected for the rest of thier lives. He gets 6 years and thinks he is hard done by. I would have expected the sentencing to have been a lot longer than 6 years.(Blackburn, 2018-10-07)
#560
anyone using a mobile while driving should face a custodial sentence, if they then kill someone they should face further imprisonment of at least 10 years per death. why should the innocent suffer because of the selfish few.?(MILTON KEYNES, 2018-10-07)
#565
I'm signing Because he killed to people and all he gets is six years he should get life for murder and not paying attention to the road(Leyland, 2018-10-07)
#574
He was illegally using his phone - he murdered 2 innocent girls. A life sentence should be applied. 6 years is a joke. If the judges 2 daughters got murdered what would be the sentence? Disgustedat the British justice.(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#575
Driving whilst using his phone!!The death of 2 young girls and the devastation to their loved ones
(Mayo, 2018-10-07)
#577
I’m signing this petition because I am totally against this person achieving his goal of a successful shorter sentence on Appeal when I feel that he should of been much much longer behind Bars, remembering those two families prolonged heartache of his senseless crime of distroying their lives for ever(Preston, 2018-10-07)
#578
Its still going on with drivers coming up brockholes brow not taking care(Preston, 2018-10-08)
#581
7 years was too lenient. Brockholes brow has a clear 30 mph speed limit and he was texting while driving. It is disgusting that he dares to ask for it when the families have a life sentence!(Preston, 2018-10-08)
#583
This disgusting waste of breath has only got 1nhalf years 4 each girl he ran over and killed and he has the cheek to appeal(Preston, 2018-10-08)
#584
The sentence given was extremely lenient in the first place and the arrogance of the convicted to even appeal such a poor sentence is disgusting.(Preston, 2018-10-08)
#587
He should serve his sentence.(Preston, 2018-10-08)
#592
Justice needs to be done and seen to be done. 6 years is not long enough and it should be the full 6 years, no early release for anyone!(Preston , Lancashire, 2018-10-08)
#593
The sentence is too lenient for someone who has ruined so many lives, especially given that it wasn't the first time he has been convicted of this offence.(Preston, 2018-10-08)
