Hazards of all descriptions can occur in any stretch of any road. You are taught hazard perception and have to pass a theory test to this effect. Pedestrians can be the biggest hazard so be vigilant at all times. To be at the wheel of a deadly weapon when driven at any speed is a privilege and should be treated in that way. To be distracted by a text message and to feel it necessary to look at and respond whilst travelling at such a speed in a vehicle that could and DID cause tragic consequences is unforgivable. Put him in the shoes of those families devastated by his choices and see how he would feel. Two young innocent lives taken by someone who didn’t use his training which granted him a licence in the first place.

I think the original sentence was way to short in the first place. If this appeal goes ahead then i hope the judge denies him of a reduced sentence and extends it considerably.
