It’s cruel to animals

Abi Farrow (Essec, 2020-10-23)

#5002

This is not the place for fireworks !

Jacquelinei clack (Clacton On Sea, 2020-10-23)

#5003

This will result in animal harm due to surroundings and I believe the supplier has been falsely informed of the intentions of use for these fireworks

Charlotte Haines (Essex, 2020-10-23)

#5008

I’ve seen the repercussions fireworks can have on animals.

Sally Brown (Cuckfield, 2020-10-23)

#5010

My animals are terrified of the noise fireworks make and visibly shake and cry. Why do people have to be so inconsiderate, keep them away from farms and stables. I would prefer to see them banned as it isn't just one day, they get let off for over a week it is awful.

HILARY ARMSTRONG-WATSON (Essex, 2020-10-23)

#5014

I have horses in the area and I would hate to seem them get hurt

Selina Heath (Clacton, 2020-10-23)

#5016

I'm signing because my Cocker Spaniel is terrified of fireworks which causes him a lot of stress and anxiety, I also believe we should think about the stress caused to all animals domestic and wild.

Tim Brewer (Trowbridge, 2020-10-23)

#5018

Fireworks cause a lot of stress for animals. Animals need to be protected.

Emilia Belgroune (Glasgow, 2020-10-23)

#5022

Fireworks are terrifying for most animals. They should not be made to suffer for a few people's enjoyment

Joyce Cartwright (Warrington, 2020-10-23)

#5029

I am a horse and dog owner and know the distress the bangs and sudden bursts of bright light can cause.

Rosie Marsh (Halstead, 2020-10-23)

#5032

It’s a ******* disgrace that this even needs to go ahead.
Think of the people/children that have illnesses that can’t cope with the noise etc.
Think of the wildlife and domestic animals that will be terrified and possibly worse.

Emma Clayden (Colchester, 2020-10-23)

#5033

I think fireworks are not only dangerous but a huge waste of money. Arguably, the effects of fireworks traumatise animals both large and small for years after exposure and are hugely irresponsible for any forward thinking society to endorse. Lazer displays are just as good if not better and are far more environmentally friendly.

Margaret Fox Knight (Newarthil Motherwell, 2020-10-23)

#5036

Fireworks and animals just do not mix. It frightens the heck out of them

frank Powers (Boca Raton, 2020-10-23)

#5037

I do not like fireworks beeing sold over the counter and think that organised displays are the safest option, but, these displays must be held in the right locations, away from houses, and animal locations

BERYL REEVE (clacton on sea, 2020-10-23)

#5039

i have a dog who is terrified of fire works

harold lowther (Bingley, 2020-10-23)

#5044

They are too near livestock animals.

Judith Weston (Derby, 2020-10-23)

#5045

I am fed up with loud firework displays which may amuse a relatively small number of people and disturb many hundreds or thousands of others. In addition the terror and disturbance to wildlife, farm animals and domestic pets is totally unacceptable.

Bob Lamb (London, 2020-10-23)

#5048

Animals are terified of fireworks .

Lynn Hunter (Walton on the naze, 2020-10-23)

#5049

Fireworks are a scourge on some societies, particularly with animal welfare in mind.

Neil Jordan (Glasgow, 2020-10-23)

#5052

Animal Lives Matter
Ban all fire work shows
use lazer shows instead

Martin Pattison (Rugeley, 2020-10-23)

#5053

I am signing this because the distress to ALL animals is a lasting trauma for many many years, as with my dog when a firework dropped from the sky and landed on my dog's face, the firework came from 4 doors up my street !!! that was three years ago, my dog is still very scared of any loud bangs and any noises from the sky.

Heather Stafford (PE9 1LA, 2020-10-23)

#5054

This will take place in a totally unsuitable place & will disturb animals & many local people. The thought that there may not be insurance or a licence in place is truly terrifying.

Joanna Downey (Stourbridge, 2020-10-23)

#5056

For 'goodness' sake !

Giuseppe Turi (Enfield, 2020-10-23)

#5058

it is about we considor ever creature as these fireworks are getting louder

mike ellis (verwood, 2020-10-23)

#5060

Fireworks although beautiful to watch if you can’t hear them are so loud they cause so much stress to animals and humans. Animals are often frightened to death !! . Please if you have to have fireworks choose the silent ones.

Clare Larkins (Birchington kent, 2020-10-23)

#5062

This petition is needed to inform people of the dangers and sheer terrifying fright this can cause to animals, matters so often overlooked or not even considered when planning a firework display.

Pauline Helman (Bude, 2020-10-23)

#5064

We need to make it to 1 night For the all animals. My friend has to sedated her horse then even then she has to hold her till fireworks finished. Also if neighbours need to tell horse owners when they are letting off fireworks

Andrea Deane (Bedford, 2020-10-23)

#5075

I lost one of my dogs with a heart attack due to the stress caused by five nights of tremendous bangs. It is totally out of control now

linda foster (romford essex, 2020-10-23)

#5078

I own land with animals on at Crown Lane and I oppose this event. The organisers had not notified us this was taking place

Dermot Fish (Tendring, 2020-10-23)

#5079

The effect of fireworks upon animals is underestimated. Humans need to be less selfish and more considerate.

christine wilson (morpeth, 2020-10-23)

#5082

They are a fire hazard and they scare animals

Angela Robindon (Birkenhead, 2020-10-23)

#5089

Animals have no voice or choice.

Mary Condrad (Coleford, 2020-10-23)

#5093

This is a totally inappropriate and selfish venue with no thought to the animals who will be in fear of the noise. Please reconsider to somewhere away from animals and any people who dislike the noise. To see a dog literally shaking in fear is not something nice to witness. In my opinion fireworks should be banned but as they aren’t a more appropriate venue needs to be sought or cancel. The animals have no voice, we need to speak for them.

Brenda Greaves (Ashby-de-la-Zouch, 2020-10-23)

#5095

...because the animals can't speak for themselves

nicola bassil (london, 2020-10-23)

#5099

This event will cause unnecessary suffering to the animals living near this event who will be exposed to the noise of the fireworks. Seems there should have been consultation with the people who will be affected by this.

Jill Brimble (Abertillery, 2020-10-23)

#5101

It’s close to boarding kennels and stables

Ruth Layzell (Thorpe le soken, 2020-10-23)

#5102

I'm signing because animals should not suffer for human entertainment

Rosalind Gillan (Huddersfield, 2020-10-23)

#5105

In principal I am opposed to being subjected to explosions in near vicinity to people and animals. I do not object to fireworks per se but it seems that the two are now synominous.. This did not used to be the case in my childhood in the 50's and 60's when we could all enjoy 'quiet' fireworks like catherine wheels, roman candles etc and rockets that culminated in a colourful display and not a succession of explosions.

Fergus Mc Ferran (Honiton, 2020-10-23)

#5108

I feel strongly about the use of fireworks- they should only be used under controlled situations and never near animals. I am sadly aware of the tragic consequences.

Gill Clampitt (Waltham Abbey, 2020-10-23)

#5113

I have relatives there and there is real concern about the impact on the animals. There are better places, surely.

Catherine Bennett (Chippenham, 2020-10-23)

#5119

Fireworks are a completely unjustified assault upon the natural world each year. They should be confined to organised displays, and not sold at retail level.

Christopher Oxford (London, 2020-10-23)

#5123

Animals cannot protect themselves by protest so we must look after their needs - they are upset by loud noise and flashy lights close to them.

Ellen Portess (Guildford, 2020-10-23)

#5124

The display should be moved

Kate Prestidge (Colchester, 2020-10-24)

#5129

I think it's disgusting

Bernadette Redhead (Welling, 2020-10-24)

#5132

Fireworks terrify many animals and children. The plastic litter generated by fireworks is strewn everywhere, ready to be added to the out of control rising tide of it, killing animals, getting into rivers and washing into the sea. Fireworks should be limited to carefully organised displays, in very carefully chosen locations, devoid of loud bangs, one day a year...November 5th. And all debris should be cleared up afterwards.

Jenifer Bunnett (Guildford, 2020-10-24)

#5133

Someone has to stand up and say think about how selfish fun times has a wider impact. Firework use has got out of hand in this country during the Autumn especially. One night of fireworks and consider using the quieter ones! Is that so difficult?

Theresa Marsh (Oldbury, 2020-10-24)

#5147

The site of this "EXTRAVAGANZA" is wrong in so many ways - as highlighted in this petition

John Dugan (Coalville, Leics, 2020-10-24)

#5149

This Display is well within earshot of domestic pets, many of whom are terrified by fireworks .
There are also many elderly people who have no desire to be disturbed by this earth shaking event at night, not to mention a number of PTSD sufferers , who find fireworks unimaginably difficult to cope with .

Stephen Simpson (Leeds, 2020-10-24)

#5156

I have animals and horses myself and I have seen how distressed they get

Gwynneth Jones (Stoke-on-Trent, 2020-10-24)

#5158

Fireworks look nice ,but are a complete menace for our poor petrified innocent pets. They need stopping .

wendy farrant (Tring, 2020-10-24)

#5159

Animals are terrified of fireworks and they should be confined to nov 5 when you would keep them in

Rosalind Cave (Manchester, 2020-10-24)

#5168

It’s so irresponsible causing so much pain and suffering to the many, many dogs, cats and animals. It’s nothing more than animal abuse, just to give people fun.
I absolutely dread this time of year as my rescue dogs, practically have seizures through fright.. they mess themselves and cry for hours it’s heartbreaking.
For this only, why do it, besides the danger, and cost.

Lisa Smith (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-24)

#5170

I live on the side of there and have livestock and other animals it’s cruel

Lesley Ann (Weeley, 2020-10-24)

#5171

Animal welfare is not being considered

Brigette Carter (Essex, 2020-10-24)

#5177

I love animals. Simple

Kristy Roche (Colchester, 2020-10-24)

#5179

This is an on-going issue and I would like to support this initial push back; consideration of animal's is a need that has been long over-looked and must be addressed.

Colleen Bergmanis (Green Valley, 2020-10-24)

#5180

Fireworks are stupid and useless, and anyone who wants to inflict that kind of terror on innocent animals is a disgusting SOCIOPATH.

Heidi Deller (Toronto, 2020-10-24)

#5181

I have lost a beloved cat to the sheer terror fireworks can inflict on animals...this is pure cruelty.

Sally Dennis (Sudbury, 2020-10-24)

#5184

I’m signing this petition was of the welfare of all the animal in this area including nearby stables
Another reason is the safety of the people attending which could spike a rise in the terrible coronavirus

Alan Farren (Clacton-on-Sea, 2020-10-24)

#5186

Every year I see my animals frightened and distraught by fireworks
They seem to go on randomly for weeks causing misery to both domestic and wild animals

Gill Brincat (Sheldwich, 2020-10-24)

#5187

Last year I saw lots of Pied Wagtails roosting in nearby trees flying desperately in all directions, exceedingly distressed each time a loud firework went off. My own dogs have suffered horribly but now I know the distress is very much wider than that.

Anne Lyburn (Nottingham, 2020-10-24)

#5188

Absolutely ridiculous place to have it.

Francesca Maynard (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-24)

#5189

There is livestock right near were the display is happening. To me this is cruelty to animals and with covid getting worst should not be happening.

Alyson Brooks (Walton on the naze, 2020-10-24)

#5196

I strongly object to this firework event taking place at this location. It is very inappropriate, and especially where animals, be it farm animals, horses and pets are so near by.
I hope common sense prevails and you put a stop to this planned event, and spare the distress to near but animals.

Charmaine Robb (Aberdeen, 2020-10-25)

#5198

I'm signing because I'm aware of how fireworks effect the sensitivities of animals. More companion animals are lost on celebratory event days then any other due to them fearing and bolting from the noise and lights of fireworks. Please, don't give more cause for the needless suffering of innocent animals.

Tina Gaal (Ottawa, 2020-10-25)

#5199

i dislike any thing that scares animals for no real reason

michael brockel (shrewsbury, 2020-10-25)
