STOP WEELEY FIREWORKS! SAVE THE LIVESTOCK AND ANIMALS

Why on EARTH would anyone in their right mind hold a thunderously loud firework display so near to where farm animals are being kept and a OAP community, where there will be many pets? The sheer lack of thought and consideration involved in organising this hideous event is absolutely sickening. The organisers are no different to the teenage morons who set fireworks off outside animal rescue centres.

The welfare of animals and safety is important when planning a firework display. Fireworks traumatise many animals. People have to be responsible when planning firework displays and animal safety and welfare needs to be taken seriously.

I have a dog who is terrified of the noise from fireworks. Weekly is excessive causing air pollution affecting children, adults and animals with breathing problems

I have pet animals, horses dogs cats and parrots who all suffer greatly every year because of fireworks. It isn't for one night either, it goes on for about a fortnight now. It isn't easy or ethical to sedate animals every night for 2 weeks. Please think about the effect of the very loud noises that traumatise pets, livestock and wild life. Thankyou for taking the time to read this.

Selfish, irresponsible madness. Childish or child-like attitude to other people and animals - I'm not sure which description applies more. Unbelievable. Just ask yourself - if fireworks had only been invented this year would this be allowed? Of course it wouldn't. Another selfish, outdated practice hiding behind the excuse of being a cultural activity, which it plainly is not.

Animals are caused great distress every year from fireworks. We must now act responsibly and protect animals from further harm by banning this event.

I think firework displays are damaging to the environment and animals, both domestic and farm, and should be stopped

I am sick to death of animals taking the brunt of humans not thinking what they are doing. This is a bad place to hold a fireworks display apart from the fact that we should all be social distancing.

It's time that firework displays were more responsible organised in places that will cause as little disruption as possible to local stables, wildlife and pets. I have seen firsthand the sheer terror cats and dogs go through whenever there are fireworks in our area. I've also seen the horrendous images of horses impaling themselves after running around in a frenzy from their terror. Not to mention how disruptive and noisy they are to people who cannot cope with the constant onslaught for hours on end, for days on end. Those with PTSD suffer immensely. Enough is enough.

Not all people can keep their animals inside such as horses, also it is known that returning military personnel can also be affected by the noise of fireworks, and as Woolwich is a military borough I am surprised this is not taken into consideration, even if animals are kept inside they are still seriously affected and become very distressed by the noise that fireworks caused.

The figures for injuries are as follows: Doctors are urging people to stay safe over bonfire night after new data revealed thousands of people end up in hospital due to firework and bonfire injuries. Figures from NHS Digital have revealed that there were almost 2,000 occasions of people going to A&E linked to fireworks in 2018-19.
NHS England said that over the last five years there had also been almost 1,000 hospital admissions relating to the discharge of a firework.

Injuries were more common at private or family displays where trained first aiders were not on hand to help, NHS England added.

Common injuries from fireworks or bonfires include burns and scalds to the head and hands, shock and eye injuries.

How many more people will be killed or seriously hurt until L.A. ban the sale of fireworks, due to health and safety issues, if this can't be done why can't a ban be made on personal sales and have just organised firework work displays, if people need this harmful kind of entertainment, let them go to an organised event.

This council must beware of the incident last year in Woolwich, when not only members of the public who were coming out of the DLR Station but also the police were having fireworks aimed at them, many cities police have asked for fireworks to be ban on a number of occasion because they are being used as weapons against the public and police, but these calls for a ban have just been ignored.

I am also sure that L.A. can ban fireworks sales if they so wish to, and as I stated before, this is the 21 st century and laser lights are being used more all over the world to entertain people without the need for fireworks, as for diwali, I have a number of friends who celebrate this without the use of fireworks as they seem to care more about the people and animals that are affected by fireworks.

I am surprised that this borough does not care enough about their military personnel or animals that are affected,it seems that this borough is not as far forward thinking, as I thought it was.

I do thank you for your response, and I will continue to ask this council to ban the use of fireworks for personal use, even if it is going on deaf ears at present, as there will be a time when people will realise the harm they are doing to themselves and others and someone of importance is harm perhaps L.A. will take notice of these request to ban these dangerous unnecessary items.

Thre are far too many idiots allowed to buy fireworks. It should be illegal for anyone to buy them except for proper controlled public displays.

The Weeley Card Boot site is not a suitable site to hold any display of fireworks; it Will cause far too much noise and stress to animals and residents in the area. Ban the Weeley Car Boot Site fireworks!
