Comments

#4001

It's just another commercial event, I live in Weeley, and don't want the dam noise.

Trevor Mitson (Weeley, 2020-10-22)

#4007

I think that all fireworks should be banned. They injure people and scare innocent animals (domestic and wild).

Julie Tennant (PONTEFRACT, 2020-10-22)

#4011

I not only have 2 young cats who hide at the sound of a loud motorbike going by, but I have an autistic daughter who is petrified of loud noises, and loud noises cause her extreme pain.

Jackie Barton (Gravesend, 2020-10-22)

#4016

Im signing because i love horses and other livestock animals and hate them getting hurt especially over some stupid display of colours its just not worth all the danger and horrific consequences for the animals

Jess Tharby (Hertfordshire, 2020-10-22)

FIREWORKS ARE A BIG DANGER TO FARMS AND ALL LIVESTOCK INCLUDING WILD LIFE!!!
FIREWORKS ARE BECOMING A HAZARD!!!!
ANIMALS SUFFER BEYOND BELIEF, BAN THE FIREWORKS!!

kathleen ALZAID (MAIDENHEAD, 2020-10-22)

#4025

We own three horses in the neighbouring field as we strongly oppose this.

Emma Brine (Tendring, 2020-10-22)

#4029

It’s a crazy idea to hold a display such as this anywhere near farm animals, or any animals.

Jan Ferrell (Kilwinning, 2020-10-22)

#4031

animals need protecting from the awful noise fireworks make.

Gina Denman (West Sussex, 2020-10-22)

#4033

Not only is it law that fireworks shouldn’t be set off near horses but the organisers have failed / are refusing to engage and communicate- surely a compromise would of been the best option but the organisers lack of communication shows there disregard of care to the local community and livestock... should there people be organising such as event?

Izzy Bradley (CM6, 2020-10-22)

#4036

Fireworks are a nuisance and upset vulnerable people and animals

Ann Devleesschauwer (London, 2020-10-22)

#4037

This is cruel

Claire Miller (Dunmow, 2020-10-22)

#4039

People should be more thoughtful to others, wildlife, and domestic animals. It is not all about 'me' and what I want but about considering others and that includes animals. Selfishness is totally uncalled for in respect of fireworks.

Pat Abbott (Reading, 2020-10-22)

#4045

Saron Marsh (Elmstead Market, 2020-10-22)

It would be wrong to hold the display

vincent Cronshaw (bolton, 2020-10-22)

#4052

Fireworks are dangerous to both people and our pets and wild animals... In a secure controlled arena they are in a better place and controlled.. Not adhoc displays or otherwise used

Marlene Mattrick (Sheffield, 2020-10-22)

#4057

Inappropriate place to hold firework display.

James Shepherd (Cranfield, 2020-10-22)

#4058

Becuase this is unfair to all the animals/ live stock and residents.

Nicola Tubbs (Colchester, 2020-10-22)

#4061

It's humane.

Tom Carl (Edinburgh, 2020-10-22)

#4068

Fire works are a burden to a minimum of 70% of the population, it disturbs household pets, farm animals and live stock , horses can be terrified and it can cause stress , complications maternal animals (horses, dogs, livestock)

Holly Colsell (Essex, 2020-10-22)

#4073

Animals suffer when fireworks are going off

Sheila English (Worcester, 2020-10-22)

#4079

Fireworks are so distressing to animals and this fireworks display should not be going ahead in an area where there are farms and livestock.

Lesley Birgin (Dunfermline, 2020-10-22)

#4085

All animals suffer when fireworks are lit. In the 21st century we are trying to save animals from harm, not make their suffering worse. Please stop being selfish and think of animals who get no pleasure and a lot of fear. Silent fireworks are now available, so please do the only right thing.

ADRIAN WRIGHT (Mansfield, 2020-10-22)

#4088

I think pets should be protected against fireworks

Karen Houghton (West Midlands, 2020-10-22)

#4095

I cannot believe there are still such selfish people who would do things like this! Fireworks should be banned totally for the distress they cause to so many people and animals.

Rosemary Gilbert (SOUTHWELL, PORTLAND, 2020-10-22)

#4096

I know only too well the distress caused to animals by fireworks.

Kathleen Reid (Rotherham, 2020-10-22)

#4098

I want all fire works banned it upset all animals

Michelle Lewis (Clayton on sea, 2020-10-22)

#4106

fireworks terrify the animals

Mary anderton (Crawley, 2020-10-22)

#4113

It is irresponsible to hold a firework display so close to farms and animals.

Richard Elliott (Ilkeston, 2020-10-22)

#4116

Not appropriate to site firework displays near animals and this should have been given serious consideration before being set up. I hope the organisers will reconsider relocating the event.

Donna Abrahart (Portsmouth, 2020-10-22)

#4117

We live on a farm and no the terrible effect fireworks can have on farm animals!

Miranda Aston (Marton, 2020-10-22)

#4118

It will cause distress to so many animals and social distancing will be difficult

Dawn McGrath (Blackpool, 2020-10-22)

#4119

I am absolutely fed up with the constant fireworks which not only terrify the animals but also the elderly
They go on for months
Not just one night as intended
Fireworks should only be sold to properly organised and safe organisations for the one night. Not used as weapons to injure , frighten and harass the innocent

Fiona Gordon (Carlisle, 2020-10-22)

#4120

It's not in an appropriate place

Pauline Phillips (Seaford, 2020-10-22)

#4128

The poor horses that live there and other animals also with covid i think its an absolute joke that theyd even consider this right now

Nicola watson (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-22)

#4130

Hearing fireworks can be traumatising to animals, even people, to many it reminds them of the blitz.
Many animals will be on their own and alone with the fear.
Fireworks are also environmentally damaging and I think especially in a pandemic the money could be better spent on other things.
I like to have fun family and friends but has the world gone mad on ‘enjoying itself’? Isn’t that a bit selfish?

Jacqueline Smith (Plymouth, 2020-10-22)

#4132

Fireworks are fun but mustn't come at the expense of acute animal suffering.

Pete Yorke (Todmorden, 2020-10-22)

#4138

I had a dog who became a nervous wreck after fireworks went off near here for days on end.

Erica Hollis (Crail, 2020-10-22)

#4140

I have pets myself and know the affect fireworks can have on them!! This is horrendous, those poor animals will be terrified !

Rebecca Crookbain (Chelmsford, 2020-10-22)

#4144

Just because fire works have been a tradition for years and entertaining doesn't mean this can be at the expense of animals suffering.

caroline Robinson (Leicestershire, 2020-10-22)

#4145

I have horses and know how distressed they become.

Alison Woodley (Rochester, 2020-10-22)

#4150

I’m signing because of the animals rights

Vikki Sheekey (Essex, 2020-10-22)

#4152

I have my own horses and I know how terrifying this can be to them! Especially with pregnant mares, this could be something big enough to make them stressed enough to miscarry! Not fair on animals both livestock and domestic!

Lauren Courtney (London, 2020-10-22)

#4154

Animals are traumatised by fireworks .

Lesley Partridge (Lichfield, 2020-10-22)

#4157

I hate the one month night after night fear.

Val McLean (doncaster, 2020-10-22)

#4158

I know that fireworks severely traumatise animals.

Glenys Jeff (Dover. Kent, 2020-10-22)

#4159

Fireworks cause extreme distress to animals, both wild animals and domestic animals. This amounts to animal cruelty. The fact that the fireworks are proposed for 2 nights, not 1, is even more horrifying. I strongly suggest that this event should be cancelled, or at the very least moved to a more suitable site. I speak a someone who lived in Colchester for many years so I know the area quite well.

June Alexander (Inverness, 2020-10-22)

#4160

My Dog is terrified of fireworks and displays with sustained noise cause acute distress

Yvonne Payne (Ilkeston, 2020-10-22)

#4167

Because of the terror it brings to all animals.

Paul Hulme (Sevenoaks, 2020-10-22)

#4169

Animals wild and domestic are terrified of fireworks

Julian Peach (Melton Mowbray, 2020-10-22)

#4176

Nature needs protecting now more than ever

Darly Jonas (Essex, 2020-10-22)

#4178

They should not be setting off fireworks next to 3 different yards containing livestock and horses. There had been no consideration for the animals.

Wendy Byrne (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-22)

#4179

its not right to have a firework display in this area and it should not be allowed to go a head

norman brown (birmingham, 2020-10-22)

#4183

I have a jack Russell. He absolutely hates fireworks. It’s not just the time of the fireworks. He carry’s on for weeks, any little bang, or flash

Carol Mosley (Derby, 2020-10-22)

#4188

This event is just not in a suitable place for massive displays 2 nights in a row. Please think about the surroundings and who live nearby and all the livestock there. This will cause so much suffering if it goes ahead

Lorraine CHAMBERLAIN (Dukinfield, 2020-10-22)

#4192

Not everyone enjoys the constant noise of fireworks including animals who become frantic, injuring themselves in fear in an attempt to get away from the noise.

Maria Abbey (kent, 2020-10-22)

#4198

This is madness!! Animals predominantly hate loud bangs why would you organise this so close to them!

Jo Spencer (Warrington, 2020-10-22)

#4199

This venue is totally inappropriate. Let's have some concern for the animals and local residents!
