#205

Its ridiculous , they are looking after their property and it looks tidy so whats the problem.

Penny Hardisty (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#209

Everybody needs there privacy and security, its not a harm to the public so they should be aloud it.

Stephanie Stephenson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#211

The fence looks wonderful i totally agree why the couple have put a fence up that high. The person who has complained must have nothing better To do. Good Luck

Helen Dahl (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#213

Security is important in any area.

Jane Smales (leeds, 2021-04-27)

#215

Fence looks smart and does not obstruct footpath

Simon Davis (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#216

The fence looks good and it's functional..
Good luck!

Claire Boocock (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#219

It's under 6ft which is what the law states. You can't just change the goalposts, it's unfair. The fence looks lovely and it's helping to keep crime down which in a knock on effect will eventually help bring down everyone's car insurance in the area.

Danika Fox (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#220

Hi they can have a fence upto 6ft
As you can see the neighbor's hedges are higher than the fence this is so wrong when you try to better your property and make it safer and look better

Philip Schofield (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#221

The fence looks lovely im sure it looks better than before i dont live in kirkstall but have past and iv comment on how nice it looks

Karen Hatfield (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#222

Because the law is clear, people need to stay out of other people business, the fence was done to prevent crime so surely the council would support this for its local residents

Zachary Kennedy (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#225

So people can have hedges growing wildly over the 3ft recommendations but you can’t have a 5ft fence , it’s ridiculous. The fence looks good

donna Mackay (Pudsey, 2021-04-27)

#226

If you can do anything to prevent people breaking into your property then do whatever it takes

Lee Cade (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#231

I think the fence looks nice!
Some people have too much time on their hands to go out of their way to complain about a 5ft fence! Must be peed that they can't see through the window anymore! People try to better their homes (yes their home) and some busy body gets offended - get a grip, and go trim your council bush 😂

Zara Hirst (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#233

I think it's ridiculous to ask them to lower the fence , some of the hedges nearby are taller than it

Bekki Stephenson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#236

I’m signing this because I believe you can erect a garden fence, under 2 metres high, without planning permission

Christine Bradley (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#238

The fence looks fine and it is keeping the property more secure. Can't see the problem

Susan Wilby (Castleford, 2021-04-27)

#240

They have improved their home security and that of their neighbours.

Karen Cooper (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#243

They are entitled to privacy

Robert Vollans (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#244

I think it looks fine

Denise Potter (Pudsey, 2021-04-27)

#246

This fence does not break Council rules, gives more protection to the people living in the house, and looks nice. Maybe the Council could do more to stop the break ins by installing cctv

Glynis Winestein (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#247

I am there next door neighbour, I don't see a problem with the fence and they have this fence for security as well as the other fence was rotten. It also improves the look of the street as we take pride in our properties and gardens.

Lucy R (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#253

I believe the fence isn't causing any issues whatsoever. In fact it appears to have resolved the issue of their property being vandalised. It looks good and there is absolutely no reason it needs to me modified

Linsey Charles (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#256

It’s not doing any harm and is doing lots of good. Looks tidy and respectable.

Ali Wilson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#257

It’s a fence!! It looks neat tidy and better than 90% of the gardens on the estate. Absolutely ridiculous complaint.

Em Dickenson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#260

we have a right to protect our properties

Ange North (leeds, 2021-04-27)

#261

The person who complained is a cunt.

Ant Varenne (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#262

I'm signing because , they are well with in the law that is published on LCC own websites of rules and regs they are protecting their home and family and are doing it by the book , as I will be doing now I'm a secure tenant.

EMILY King (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#263

It's a beautiful fence

Leanne Scott (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#264

I don't even know you but why shouldn't your property be safe? Your fence looks nice & tidy!

Emma Berckley (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#265

I'm signing because you should be able to protect your property within reason like for example a 5 foot fence.

Farhana Khan (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#267

They should have the right to protect their home

Katie Jacobs (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#269

Safety is most important and if it states online planning permission is needed for a 6ft fence they shouldnt have to ask.

Sarah Lawson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#270

I am signing because people have a right to protect their property

Dunwyngyn Richardson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#273

The fence looks nice and tidy instead of looking at over grown hedges

Tracey Daniels (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#274

It looks very good and the most important protects their home from burglars.

Bart Brasse (Huddersfield, 2021-04-27)

#278

People should have the right to secure their property, plus the fence looks smart and improves the area. It should be allowed to stay.

Jack Howard (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#283

Every one as a right to protect there own property, and a 5ft fence is not unreasonable

Carole Cliffe (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#285

The fence looks lovely, with extra security to boot! Can only think it's somebody wanting to be able to hop over the fence and break in that's complained!!

Michelle Arthur (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#288

Protecting your home and family > anything else. The council has bigger fish to fry than picking on one family for doing the right thing, especially when it's over ONE complaint. And it's a lot better than an overgrown hedge that blocks half of a foot path which is a common sight throughout Leeds

Dan Ribeiro (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#290

Common sense will hopefully prevail

Robert Beety (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#292

The people in question are trying to make the area look and appeal better. I'm all for this as I live in the local area and have bought our house and do our best to keep the appearance of the estate good. I'm all for this fence, the council need to sort out the ones with 10ft hedges that are uncut and overgrown.

Gareth Powell (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#293

This measure was taken for entirely the right reasons and is in complete keeping with the aesthetics of the local area.

Andrew Millward (BRADFORD, 2021-04-27)

#297

I live in the area and think the fence is a positive addition . It is neat, tidy and the front garden is kept in a good condition. I do not see the problem.

Hattie Hodgson-Crome (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#299

There are plenty if high fences not git permission, if this one petty complaint, LCC should ask fir opinions if people living near who have to see it regularly to see if they object.

Margaret Horsman (Guiseley, Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#301

It seems utterly ridiculous to ask these people to lower an existing fence because of one complaint. I hope they are successful in getting retrospective planning permission for this neat well put up fence.

Carol Mottram (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#303

I don't see an issue with a 5ft fence many people have them I believed you was allowed up to a 6ft fence around your garden and surely it's better than the tenants having overgrown grass and hedges that they don't maintain like a fair few council tenants, they have improved the look of the property and aren't doing anyone any harm

Leanne Bell (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#304

I'm signing because sick of jobsworthy people. They have done nothing wrong if it had been a 7ft fence fair enough but it looks good and they had every right to protect their property.

Tanya Clayton (Wakefield, 2021-04-27)

#307

The fence looks professional, smart, and presentable, and is in keeping with the area.

Nikki Crick (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#308

Fence is under 6ft and shouldn't require planning permission. The fence looks lovely and tidy.

Allison Green (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#311

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 5ft fence. It’s tidy and helps deter criminals. The council should support people trying to keep properties tidy and safe, not penalise them. The council should put the same effort in to tell all the scruffy people to tidy their properties up because they are an eye sore.

Angela Burke (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#312

I think some people are petty and just jealous, it looks very nice

Mel Peel (Bridlington, 2021-04-27)

#315

It’s within the law. What’s the problem?

Carla Bland (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#316

Freedom of choice it’s their own property and looks absolutely fine we need security in this day & age

Julie brook (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#321

Well obviously because it's absolutely common sense to allow the fence. Pettiness from a neighbour should be ignored. No reason whatsoever to lower the fence.

Richard Lambert (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#326

I’m signing because the fence is in good order and tidies up the area and we are all entitled to our privacy and security

Kim Burton (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#327

I dont agree with them having to take it down its 5ft high and looks nicely made. They are trying to make there property safe and secure.

Annette Cawkwell (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#330

they are allowed to have privacy and be secure. shame on you leeds city council

marcin janiec (leeds, 2021-04-27)

#331

I know others who have erected tall fences to counteract crime and it does work.

Barbara Sevens (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#333

A 5ft fence shouldnt cause any issues, it adds security and looks decent, if it was built from scrap i would understand them needing to lower itor remove it but it probably makes the area look better.

Dwaine Harding (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#341

I don’t see anything wrong with the fence it looks nice it’s not an eyesore so I can’t see why it needs to be lowered.

Kerry Anderson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#343

Common sense must prevail.

Ray Owen (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#346

I'm signing as it's within the specified height requirement without planning permission. What's the point if having restrictions if you can apply to whom ever you want & change them. This couple are entitled like everyone else to protect there home & are doing so within the guidelines set by Leeds City Council. It also looks good, clean & professionally done. Stop wasting people time & money Leeds Council.

Lisa Duffy (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#348

It looks good! Not really sure why anyone's complaining. Can definitely understand why they wanted it aswell to prevent crime.

Jade Worsley (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#352

The council ask tenants to seek permission for fences above 6ft so what have the residents done wrong. They have made a home improvement and made their property safe and secure

Pauline Rapier (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#353

They should be allowed the fence

Victoria Gilbert (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#354

Vindictive people sicken me and 5ft is not excessive Indeed im surprised the council have nothing better to do

Dennis Brooke (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#360

I like their fence

Daniel Roome (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#361

People should be able to do what they want with their homes to make them better and more secure too. Some people are perfectic and just like to moan at everything. KARENS everywhere

Zoe Stalker (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#362

There is nothing wrong with the fence and everybody should be entitled to privacy in their own home/garden.

Catherine Manser (Wakefield, 2021-04-27)

#363

It looks fab and helpful in keeping crime away. Jealous neighbours that’s all it is. We have the same thing going on. Pure envy and nothing else better to do. Good luck

Patricia Flaherty (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#367

I do not understand why this individual has got any gripes about this fence. And I fully support the family 100%

Lawrence Lorriman (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#372

it looks good offers protection and isnt harming anyone else.

Paul Lyttle (leeds, 2021-04-27)

#373

The request to lower the fence to 3ft is ridiculous

Tomasz Malinowski (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#378

This is a perfectly normal and very smart looking fence there for the purpose of needed security.
It improves the look of the area too.
There is nothing wrong with it and the owners should be allowed to leave it.
The council would be best addressing the large overgrown hedges obstructing pavements tbh.
Good luck with the petition.

Rachel Robinson (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#381

It's a matter of security and safety its been correctly constructed, its not an eyesore and it's of no harm to the public.

Kerry Halmshaw (Castleford, 2021-04-27)

#383

It looks really nice and serves it's purpose

Elizabeth Moore (Bradford, 2021-04-27)

#386

The wall just got 6ft taller!

Matt Milnes (Manchester, 2021-04-27)

#388

I'm signing because it's my responsibility to protect my family and my home from bulgary with appropriate fence by its security and appearance.

Olga Kaplane (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#389

I lived down kirkstall on Gilbert chase and I had a fence put up it was exactly 6ft high a neighbour asked me if I had planning permission and I said I didn't need it I then went to kirkstall housing and told them about my fence was asked how high it was told them 6ft not an inch bigger told it was fine as it wasn't over 6ft ad I took great delight telling the nosey neighbour the outcome

Thomas Oreilly (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#391

I don’t see why they make an issue out of wanting to put a higher fence around your own property, it’s not affecting anyone and the busy body who reported you clearly has nothing better to do. It looks lovely and very tidy, the council want to focus on these people who refuse to maintain their homes and gardens before nit picking

Jay Stead (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#392

They have had a number of break ins , this is to protect their family and home

Cheryl F-stewart (Leeds, 2021-04-27)

#398

The Leeds Council is out of touch with the local people as usual.

Stephen Powell (Leeds, 2021-04-27)
