I am signing because I have lived in this area for the last 35 years and have seen these areas come back to life with wildlife after all the housing has been built and these areas should be kept as they are.

This open space is extremely valuable for the environment of people of Earley. It’s very worrying that the green space has recently been cleared. If tgere are thoughts if yding it fir building on, a rethink is needed - it’s too valuable for people and wildlife.

#311

This green area functions as a valuable sound barrier to residents in Lower Earley, blocking noise from the busy M4 and Lower Earley Way. Therefore I believe this should remain as it is.
Nature trails within this green patch have been an asset to the community especially during this lockdown period.

Indrani seneviratne (reading, 2020-11-20)

Vicki Procko (Reading, 2020-11-20)

#333

It was a lovely wooded area and green, where there are alot of deer, badgers, foxes and other wildlife, the green in front of the wood is often used for get togethers, walking and the children love to play and kick a ball around. I often walk that way and was shocked yesterday when I saw what has happened to this area it has been ruined, the people cutting the trees down have been told there are no wildlife, there are plenty of wildlife, I have seen the people that live in Bassett Close feeding the animals and they leave bowls of water out so the animals can have a drink, what has happened to this green and woodland should be stopped to save this area and save the wildlife that live there.☹️😬

Julie Beales (Reading, 2020-11-20)

Arohi Gadgil (Wokingham, 2020-11-20)

#355

It is desperately important, in both world and local terms, that green natural areas are preserved and increased at all costs. This must take priority over building and roads. Not to do so is burying one's head in the sand re the future of the planet and the health, welfare and safety of our successors. This area is especially important as a Green corridor for wildlife to travel along and hence encourage species diversity and the species richness of the habitats it connects.

Alan Broodbank (Earley, Reading, 2020-11-20)

Alison Blampied (Chertsey, 2020-11-20)

#379

We need micro-ecosystems/wildlife corridors as pit-stops for pollinators, birds and small mammals. These pockets of wildlife and paths are also vital for the mental health of us residents to be able to go for walks especially in lockdowns. And safe spaces for our kids to look for fungi and centipedes etc

Bryony Sheridan-Kellett (Reading, 2020-11-20)

Jon Mott (Wokingham, 2020-11-20)

#389

The land is part of a significant green corridor which is important because 1)it allows continuity of habitat for wildlife 2)it is part of a good green lengthy walkway for people in local housing estates, which has been of particualr imoportance in lockdown 3) the trees and shrubs help absorb noise and air pollution from Lower Earley Way and, nearby, from the M4, so protecting the residents of Lower Earley.
1) green corridor is vital

Judith Clark (Reading, 2020-11-20)

#390

I'm concerned that this green area may be built upon.
