Selfish behaviour that inflicts pain and suffering on others, human and animal is not acceptable.

Carol Rutter (Weston super Mare, 2020-10-21)

#215

Animals should not beput through trauma like this. Fireworks if used should be kept away from homes and wild/domesticated animals.

Sandra McLeod (Hackney, London, 2020-10-21)

#217

I have two dogs who are terrified of loud bangs. Also, we should stop fireworks polluting our planet.

Peter Sopp (Farnham, 2020-10-21)

#219

I am concerned that any firework display, either organised or just a family gathering causes distress to animals.

Carol Longton (Lancaster, 2020-10-21)

#221

bonfires for guy fawkes and not fireworks - such stress for a small amount of time and a lot of money wasted

j w (Bedford, 2020-10-21)

#222

Until the manufacturers can make silent fireworks they should be banned for the distress they cause to both domesticated and wild animals

Georgina Hewlett (Marlos, 2020-10-21)

#224

Fireworks are potentially unsafe and cruel to animals, my own dogs are petrified.

June Moore (Leeds, 2020-10-21)

#225

My dog is traumatised by fireworks to the point she could have heart attack

Andrea Masters (Solihull, 2020-10-21)

#229

It is wrong to hold noisy displays close to animals - there are other locations that would not cause animal distress on this level.

Sylvia Bain (hassocks, 2020-10-21)

#235

Animals have to be protecting

Christine Beresford (Bristol, 2020-10-21)

#243

As suggested by Charles, this display could be moved to a more appropriate site.

Rachel Dobell (MILTON KEYNES, 2020-10-21)

#248

I know how terrifying and damaging such excessive displays can do to both pets, livestock and wildlife

Crystal Wallage (Hope Valley, 2020-10-21)

#254

These events are so damaging to domestic, farm and wild life. So out of touch with care and compassion to other living beings.

Joy Vyner (LL28 4RS, 2020-10-21)

#262

I agree that this should not be held so close to farms and livestock or residential housing.

Geri Vasmant (PAISLEY, 2020-10-21)

#263

I fear for all the animals, wildlife and birds. This should be stopped immediately.

Gloria Aldridge (Devon, 2020-10-21)

#264

I agree that it causes anxiety in animals.

Jala' Couet (stanfield, 2020-10-21)

#268

I want to stop cruelty!!!!

Janet Heinle (Santa Monica, 2020-10-21)

#269

We must protect the animals. It is not necessary for fireworks to have loud explosive bangs!

Christine Spence (Worthing, 2020-10-21)

#270

Totally against Fireworks in all forms. They are cruel to Animals and Birds, especially night Birds like Owls. They frighten people and pollute the air. they cause burns and fire damage.

Ges Brown (Christchurch, 2020-10-21)

#276

This causes so much distress.

John Holme (Chorley, 2020-10-21)

#279

My little dogs get terrified, it’s pitiful to see them and all for fireworks! Really?

Janet Thomas (Treorchy, 2020-10-21)

#280

It could be dangerous, as well as distressing for the animals

Julia Lloyd (London, 2020-10-21)

#281

I've seen the stress they cause to animals & its heart breaking.

Lindsay Pearce (Tredegar, 2020-10-21)

#282

Fireworks and animals are incompatible. They can kill livestock and family pets who can be terrified. It's time we stopped them .

Sue Harris (Chester, 2020-10-21)

#286

I am sick & tired of bloody fireworks terrifying pets, livestock & elderly people.

Gavin Sayer (Thirsk, 2020-10-21)

#287

I'm signing because my own dog is terrified of fireworks and we have to keep her in a crate for most of the fireworks period to stop her jumping up on the kitchen worktops, or trying to get into tiny cupboards to escape the noise. She's fine and feels safe, but I would rather not have to do this. Also all the other animals who suffer every November need to be acknowledged.

Jenny Davies (Abertawe, 2020-10-21)

#290

My little dog is absolutely TERRIFIED of fireworks. There used to be relatively quiet fireworks, but now it seems the louder the bang the better.

Kevin Taylor (Pontefract, 2020-10-21)

#292

I care about the fear animals feel when these loud fireworks are set off near them.

Gillian Tansley (COLCHESTER, 2020-10-21)

#300

Because fireworks are an unnecessary nuisance

Christina Anderson (HALSTEAD, 2020-10-21)

#309

its cruel to the animals and they could get hurt. The fireworks today are like bombs going off , it should be a rule no fireworks where animals are situated. That means none they are a menace.

Debbie Dean (Stoke-on-Trent, 2020-10-21)

#314

I have had to spend hours holding my terrified animals ... they have rights too...

Jill Lamede (Tintagel, 2020-10-21)

#318

Sick to death of fireworks destroying lives.

Emma Harris (Coventry, 2020-10-21)

#321

Fireworks are an unnecessary noise which can only terrorise both farm and domestic animals.

Martin Huxley (Weston-super-Mare, 2020-10-21)

#322

This is an issue about which more and more people feel uneasy. Fireworks and animals just don't mix, and in some cases humans and fireworks don't mix well either. Please urgently reconsider.

L Whitworth (Brighton, 2020-10-21)

#332

Of the risk to horses and livestock.

Anne Smith (Ipswich, 2020-10-21)

#333

Animals security and comfort should not be sacrificed for some noisy and flashing lights. Move it somewhere else.

David Kirkman (Symington, 2020-10-21)

#335

I am in total agreement with this petition

Anne Moir (Elgin, 2020-10-21)

Sehila Craft (Bognor Regis, 2020-10-21)

I work at a horse rescue farm and it really distresses the animals.

Bernie Byrnes (WHYTELEAFE, 2020-10-21)

#343

Thorsten Grimm (Laupheim, 2020-10-21)

#348

Absolutely no need to be letting off fireworks at all!! So many people and animals are terrified of them.😢

Irene Butler (Glasgow, 2020-10-21)

#350

This is not appropriate.

Kim Duckers (Coventry, 2020-10-21)

#364

Animals deserve not to be scared in their own homes

susan taylor (WHYTELEAFE, 2020-10-21)

#368

Fireworks are for Guy Fawkes, one night not two.
They are great to watch. But venues must be licensed and assessed by the council, otherwise not only disturbance to all and everything around it, but possible no safety precautions.

karen steele (Staines on Thames, 2020-10-21)

#372

Its not fair on all the animals, and we don't need fireworks!!...

Rosie Cawthorne (Teignmouth, 2020-10-21)

maureen parker (London, 2020-10-21)

#377

This event needs to be stopped

Marie Beatrice Rose Pugh (Newport, 2020-10-21)

#379

Fireworks are bad for animals

Philip Dewhurst (Preston, 2020-10-21)

#382

It's totally wrong to traumatise animals with fireworks. Firework displays need to be in settings where they will not frighten livestock, wild or domestic animals

Clare Alderson (Northallerton, 2020-10-21)

#383

Our dog suffers so much. Howls, vomits and hides.
The must be stopped.

Helen O’DONNELL (Ellesmere Port, 2020-10-21)

#384

There is no reason, people are not allowed to gather anyway and if fireworks are to be used they should be silent ones.

Deborah Kenton (Wrexham, 2020-10-21)

#386

The welfare of people and animals outweighs the need for expensive and wasteful pyrotechnics. And social distancing.......!!!!!!!

Mike Nelson (Christchurch, 2020-10-21)

#390

It isn't appropriate to have firework displays so close to animals of any kind. Apart from the noise frightening the animals, but with the display so close there is a risk of a rogue firework exploding in the animals shelters perhaps causing a fire or unrest causing injury.

Graham West (Wokingham, 2020-10-21)

#391

injury and terror inflicted on animals is completely unspeakable - DON'T DO IT!

Patrticia Craig (Antrim, 2020-10-21)

#397

The Animal Welfare Act is toothless. It is completely 100% NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. It does nothing to protect our vulnerable relatives and our animals from people 'having fun with explosives'.

Julie Doorne (Grantham, 2020-10-21)

#399

Significant animal welfare concerns. The emergence of new (distressing) behaviour issues, the exacerbation of current behaviour issues and physical implications on the animals. Covid restrictions also prevent people from moving their animals, going on holiday / to stay overnight with friends and family with their animals.
This should be banned (as many local firework and bonfire displays have been, including Lewes Bonfire - one of the largest in the U.K.).
