I am proudly a Portuguese South African and feel that DSTV is currently taking advantage of the fact that they have no competition.
Over the past few years, all our Portuguese channels have slowly been removed from DSTV (Portuguese soccer league, Portugal International Soccer, SS Máximo).
All this while we are paying for a premium package as well as the Portuguese bouquet.
More and more South Africans in general are canceling their DSTV, because of your poor business decisions, beware of losing DSTV all together....

DSTV took away the Portuguese community in South Africa’s favourite programme and replaced it with sub-standard content. Never mind mentioning that there is no cost reduction. In these days of lockdown people rely on TV for entertainment. Most affected people do not have access to internet and other options!!! This action has been the cause of an increase of depression.

First, DSTv removed the Portuguese bouquet from their offerings. We had to sign up for a package which contained some of the Portuguese channels. Then the SIC channel was removed without consultation with viewers, and this happened in mid-October - i.e. DSTv did not even wait until the end of the month to terminate the channel. While DSTv did broadcast a repetitive message informing viewers that the SIC channel would be terminated by mid-October, it did not bother to give viewers any reasons for the decision. We are now left with only one Portuguese channel catering for news and actuality programmes - RTPi. This is very disappointing and it shows that DSTv has no considerstion for its Portuguese-speaking viewers.
