Comments

#201

It deserves to be protected and set up as a natural reserve and green space for families to enjoy both now and into the future.

Cheryn Menhennett (Napier, 2020-08-10)

#204

I grew up in Eskdale, had many school and family events there as a youngster.
Then to turn it into a some commercial event I prefer it to be kept as a natural reserve that all can use and enjoy.

Rob Kerei (Perth, 2020-08-11)

#207

why do we want to turn everything and everywhere into cycleways!

Dan Armstrong (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#208

Please leave this park available for everyone to enjoy.

Heather Kelland (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#211

We need to keep some nature recreation areas untouched. There us a mtb bike park just down the road at pan pac so it's not sensible to remove this lovely family friendly park

Michelle Alexander (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#215

I love Eskdale park as it is, natural

Julie Shearer (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#218

I use this park with my family!

Craig Campbell (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#219

This is one of the few large family friendly nature reserves for summer outings with water activities and room to play, eat and enjoy nature without feeling crammed with other people. There is space for all here

Dianne Cowan (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#220

I enjoy using this wonderful green space as a family fun and picnic area. I have done so for the past 30 years.

Debbie Cook (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#225

Many happy memories picnicking, swimming & playing cricket at the domain I’d hate for that to end.

Jodie Katene (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#231

Eskdale is a beautiful green peaceful park that iv been going to for over 30 years. Its a great space to think and reflect and take my dog for a walk. Its a safe space for kids to run around and play. The nature sounds you experience, the birds chirping, the gentle river flow, the fantails flying, the wind in the trees ... it would be lost if you developed it. It would be very sad.

Monique Buckley (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#234

It's a fantastic place for familys to picnic, play family sports, have fun!.. Lots of childhood memories!

Lisa Dickenson (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#237

I think Eskdale park is an absolute treasure as it is. I go there often with dogs and friends/family, would be an absolute dreadful thing to happen if it were developed into a mountain bike hub!!!

Erin Olsen (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#242

This park is a place me and my family enjoy going to. Plenty of space for a ball game or simply relax under the shade of a tree.
Excellent facilities

Julie Ball (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#243

I’m signing because we need wide open spaces for children and families. Look at how many people use it. Way better than mountain bikers who already have places to go

Nicola Sisson (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#245

We don’t need more mountain bike tracks!!! We do need this big wide open space with lots of shade for families to picnic and run around playing all sorts of sports.

Maria Barnett (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#246

There is another bike park not that far away from Eskdale Park. Leave it as it is - a lovely countty park.

Margaret Timms (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#247

I have enjoyed this park for more than 50 years and would like to preserve the peace and tranquility of this special place.

john Frehner (437470e4-9e01-42f7-84cf-aa98c9dbce4c, 2020-08-12)

#248

This is a beautiful park and great for taking the family for the day to relax and enjoy the river

Richard Doughty (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#249

It's a beautiful place to go to be in a natural park. I don't want that spoiled by man made structures...it will bring other problems, including a lot of rubbish and vadelisim

Judeen Waterhouse (Hastings, 2020-08-12)

#250

Eskdale park is so beautiful and a great place to go with family. Never turn it into a mountain bike park!!!! We have our right to enjoy the park as is!

Nicole McLaren (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#252

Because the park is part of my history and we need all those trees and natural resources.

Leah Kersey (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#255

This park is a park where I have great great memories with my just recently passed great great grand parents. Please keep this park!!!!

Tyson Walters (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#257

I love the park with my husband and kids

Cheryle Clark (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#258

Eskdale Park is a beautiful natural site. Our family have used it frequently for family picnics and swims.

Kathie Ritchie (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#259

My child hood memories

Rikilee Kihi (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#260

HB Mountain Bike Club should purchase a area of Private land, they already have access to forest areas close by

John Aikman (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#261

We use this park for family time over summer.

Lois Manhire (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#262

I dont agree with the destruction of the park

Michelle Warwick (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#266

This is the only large area for public recreation and is very busy on public holidays and there are bound to be more suitable locations

raymond Olsen (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#267

Noooo not another MTB park

Julia Glentworth (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#268

It's a beautiful space that my family and dog enjoy very much. Its peaceful, relaxing and would be a huge shame to lose.

Jessica Tolhopf (Waipawa, 2020-08-12)

#271

The park should stay, keep on making memories!

Lachlan Hall (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#277

Leave the park alone

Andrew Timms (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#280

I'm signing because this park has significant emotional attachment to my family. It should be preserved as a
country park for families to enjoy

Susan McDade (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#281

This park is perfect the way it is. There at other bike parks in the area. Preserve the natural beauty of this space. You just can't beat wide open spaces.

Kelly Vaney (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#286

This park is special to so many generations...a beautiful place to take our children..grandchildren..Xmas 🎄 parties..birthdays..work functions and whanau get ❤ leave our park alone !!!

Rick Kihi (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#289

I’m signing because we grow up with this park. So much so I got married their in 2016! Please save the park for the many generations to come!

Danielle Kihi (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#290

I have gone to this beautiful place for many Family picnics, it is a beautiful park & should be left that way for everyone to enjoy for years to come

Frances Burgess (Paekakariki, 2020-08-12)

#291

Green space should not be developed

Rodger Hedley (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#292

It would be a tragic decision to ruin a local beauty spot....

John Paxie (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#295

There are excessive cycling options around Hawke’s Bay Panpac, the endless mountain bike tracks around Hawke’s bay, TeMata peak, the track Marine Parade. We need to keep the balance on the region not just for one sport but for multiple sports and families too.
Keep the balance.

Kate Hinton (Clive, 2020-08-12)

#302

Eskdale Park is a special place to my family and holds a lot of history with it's peaceful surroundings. Please don't spoil this beautiful area with something that can only cater to a few.

Judy McKinnon (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#303

Eskdale Park holds many memories for our family.

Kath Meek (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#305

We use this beautiful park all the time. Leave it alone .

Jayne Kihi (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#309

Not every undeveloped piece of land need be developed. This park is of greater value as a nature reserve than to lose that an ‘improved’ space for bikes.

Plenty of other areas for that which are empty gorse covered paddocks.

Amy Clough (Hastings, 2020-08-12)

#311

I love this park
My kids spent their childhood there
Ffs these idiots want to take everything
As a solo mum I could afford to take my children

Jeanie Peters (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#312

Totally agree, we need park for everyone not only for the few

Lana Bigg (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#313

I love Eskdale Park the way it is. Please consider other locations for the MTB park. There is plenty of space nearby.

Angela Revell (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#317

Please keep the park... We always go there in Summer. Beautiful place for family picnics. My children loves the river that runs there....

Sulia Tiko Rasa (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#318

its an awesome park for families and would be ruined.

Adam Durham (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#320

I’m signing because I grew up in Napier and have some great memories in Bay View/ Eskdale/Esk Valley.
As well, we really need to preserve our natural reserves and Nature in general.
Don’t let greed and capitalism destroy our provincial heritage.

Ri Elers (Dublin, 2020-08-12)

#321

I’m signing because this is a beautiful park, rural with a safe river. In summer it is packed. MOuntain bikers already have the great park at Whirinaki. So sad that you’re even contemplating this

Jude Robertson (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#322

I am signing this petition because this park has been around for generations of families like mine to gather together for outings, picnics, swimming, bbq, and much more.

Grace Brown (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#323

It is a beautiful reserve and should not be spoilt. No objection to the project but not there.

Judith Clarke (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#324

This park should be left as is. Every space is "developed " so many memories for so many people - especially us from napier. Leave this space so we keep the opportunity to make memories with our kids!

Amber Puhara (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#325

We enjoy the park as it i's and are not interested in its development. Played here when we were kids, now my kids play here too.

John Verry (Napier, 2020-08-12)

#328

We have used this park for generations in my family for family picnics; sports days celebrations. Leave it alone there is no where else like this in HB . Even though I live in New Plymouth I still own a house in Napier and pay rates there. I come home regularly for family events which involve at least a twice year visitation to the Eskdale Park.

Suzanne Porter (New Plymouth, 2020-08-12)

#331

its a park for everyone not just bike tracks we have enough the 1 on the beach front dont even get used

Beverley Wheeldon (Onekawa, 2020-08-12)

#333

We are from Napier and will be moving back soon. Eskdale is a beautiful park that at the moment can be enjoyed by all. Turn it into a bike park and only a few will be able to enjoy it. That's not fair.

Lyndsey Starkey (Auckland, 2020-08-12)

#335

I'm local and use the park every day to walk my dogs. It is the only dog walking area in bayview/eskdale. I see many families during summer. It will destroy a big part of eskdale community.

Liam Thomson (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#338

My family have been going there for 60 plus years. Every xmas we enjoy a huge family get together there

Jacqui Rye (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#339

I don't want to see such a beautiful and enchanting natural spot ruined. Do we have to desecrate everything?

Ian Cook (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#341

This is an awesome family area that's free one of the few left. the river is for all ages it has been a family favourite for over 40 year leave it alone!

Brenda Williams (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#345

I go to this park with family & friends for picnics & generally chilling out. To see it changed into a bike park with tracks everywhere is not a good option as cyclists already have other options to go mountain biking over already established tracks

Beverly Cannell (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#350

Keep that beautiful park as it is. My family has had picnics there for the past twenty years.

Neil Dunn (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#351

Eskdale park is an area that has been enjoyed by many families throughout the years and should be left as it is.

Jenny Wedd (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#352

Eskdale park should be left as it is for everyone to enjoy.

Lynn Burton (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#353

This is a beautiful space for kids to roam freely and explore. Haveing a bike hun there would just ruin the beautiful space it is. We have spent many family days here with lots of fun to be had it would be such a shame to ruin it.

Lauren Makene (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#356

Its our family tradition to go to this park. Fly kites, kids swim, picnic, play cricket and softball etc. Be a shame for our younger generations to loose a part of our history.

Charlotte Porter (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#357

This is one of our best local spots that is enjoyed by all not just a select few

Kirstyn Renall (Hastings, 2020-08-13)

#359

Our family use this park and the access to the river every summer. It is one of a kind. For locals it is the only swimming spot without driving into town.

Megan Wells (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#362

My family all grew up in the esk valley, I went to eskdale school, this park has been a great place for our family history.
And many families.

Bryce Henderson (Sunshine Coast, 2020-08-13)

#367

It’s one of our last open greens and a fab river for swimming and picnics under all the beaut trees there! Leave it alone!!!

Jacqui Shipman (Napier, 2020-08-13)

#372

originally from Eskdale and this park should be preserved for ALL people to enjoy.

Ian Bradshaw (waikato, 2020-08-13)

#374

I would hate to see such a lovely park lost. We go there often and even have or Christmas day there

Lorraine Lennox (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#375

There are so few parks like Eskdale we need to preserve this precious treasure. There are plenty of other mountain bike areas already.
Eskdale park is a very popular park it would be selfish to destroy it

Sue Campbell (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#376

I love this place

Dallas Hardgood (Cootamundra, 2020-08-14)

#379

I'm signing this because I believe it is better to leave eskdale park as it is than to change it for the bmx dirt track

Melissa Wilson (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#381

I believe the Eskdale Park should remain as a rural park. It has a fabulous history as a rural gathering point for the people of HB. Changing it to a mountain bike hub will deter the general populace from using it.

Mark Speakman (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#382

It should stay as it is, and everyone can enjoys it, kids can bike as it is, play cricket, soccer, plenty of bike parks around now that just don't get looked after

Niki Scarrott (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#386

This park needs to be protected as it is a natural and beautiful green park unique to Eskdale.
There are plenty of stunning bike tracks through out Hawkes Bay, no need to destroy the tranquility found within Eskdale

Debbie Stubbs (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#389

The existing park is so beautiful that it would be a travesty to put in a bike hub!

Max Patmoy (Napier, 2020-08-14)

#391

Enough developments.. gees leave this beautiful space alone ..

Judith Clair (Piako, 2020-08-14)

#395

this park should be kept for families not ruined for mountain bikes

Karla Gannaway-Bell (Napier, 2020-08-15)

#397

The Eskdale Park is one of the only parks in the area that is great to enjoy on a nice day with the family. There is so much space in the area that can be used for MTB kind of activities. The area near Murphy Road on the side near the expressway is a much better place to utilise for these kind of activities

Liz van Zuijlen (Napier, 2020-08-15)

#398

because we use the park for birthdays an days out so dont put a mountain bike park there***** them

James hartley (hastings, 2020-08-15)

#399

I don’t want to see this awesome facility ruined, please keep it as it is for families to enjoy as they have done for many years already

Karen Sherwood (Napier, 2020-08-15)

#400

Because it is my most favorite place ever and it doesn't need to be spoilt.

Kendyl Brock (Napier, 2020-08-15)
