ILLEGAL RECYCLING PLANT - PRETORIA EAST!!!

Comments

#201

That is a health hazard.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#202

It looks terrible and all the vagrants in that open lot should also have been removed long ago. The kind of trash it brings into our community is unwanted. Remove it now along with all the squatters in the tree next to the stream.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#204

I am signing because some things in life is not acceptable and this is definitely one of them. Go and establish this business at your own front door.

(Tshwane, 2019-09-20)

#209

Apply the law in our country please

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#210

I do not agree to having a recycling plant on our doorstep. This will attract illegal squatting.

(Pretoria Tshwane, 2019-09-20)

#211

Apart from the cosmetic appearance it poses a health and safety risk. My children attend Waterkloof High School and often walk past that site

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#214

I am signing because I want to protect the environment

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#218

The constitution should protect the rights of all citizens. The rights of all should also be weigh against the rights of the people who already invested in specific area. The illegal encrouching by people who are not investing the greater good of the people and environment borders on unconstitional and illegal action. This action have serious negative consequences to the existing people who are law abiding and contributors to taxes and levies to government and municipality. The way of occupying land and creating unhealthy living conditions against all bylaws and regulation is not allowable and will be criminal failure by municipality and government if allowed, as it is harming the paying and law abiding citizens that contribute and keep the living standards at high cost.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#220

What's happening here is illegal and will also lead to illegal things happening - i.e. drug etc.
They are not only dumping their plastic etc there - they are "building" homes there and sleep there - please stop it now before it goes too far

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#222

..i am sick and tired of lawless behaviour in S A.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#223

I want the PIC to either remove the illegal recycling operation or erect buildings and plants to assist these guys in cleaning up and recycling the trash. I do not dismiss the recycling as an opportunity to earn an income, but please do it in such a way that it does not break down the face of the community.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#225

This is messy and illegal

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#226

Safety and security reasons

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#227

It is illegal, unsafe and unhygienic to name a few reasons!!

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#228

Crime caused by migrant influx!!!

(Constantia Park, 2019-09-20)

#230

If this problem is not addressed it will evolve into another Plastic view!!!

(Pretoria. A, 2019-09-20)

#233

This is a major safety and security risk for residents in the area. Crime is increasing. The odors coming from the area are unbearable early in the morning and during night time. Please act upon our requests to have them removed before we have another Plastic View here.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#236

Everything is dirty

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#238

I don't think it is safe sanitary or legal to have basically a rubbish dump/ recycling sorting site in an open field, near residential areas.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#243

Its n big eye sore

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#244

Crime is increasing

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#246

If we don't stop these illegal recyclers soon, there will be an environmental disaster. Please have a look what is going on in Centurion also - next to the river at Supersport Park. There is no ablution facilities for these immigrants. I'm sure 80% + of these guys are not SA citizens

(PRETORIA, 2019-09-20)

Devaluating properties in the East

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#248

MMeets

(Tshwane, 2019-09-20)

#251

The current status quo is simply unacceptable for so many many different reasons and the issue needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#252

I have property in the area which has been very safe but I feel that this will change if the squatters are not removed. It feels very unfair to be in this position with our economic climate.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#254

Recycling plant in residential area brings down property values as well unwelcomed members of the public which will increase crime

(Wessels, 2019-09-20)

#255

This not an industrial area.
These activities encourage criminal behaviour

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#256

I am against the illegal recycling operation

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#258

I am concern as I live in the area and need to drive past there every day, and I have noticed since they are there the crime has increased in our area

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#265

Because I live close to this illegal recycling plant!

(Pretoria East, 2019-09-20)

#266

The site is unsightly and garbage gets blown by the wind to other areas causing more pollution - with the stream nearby it is a big problem as garbage lands in the water. The squatters at the sight is also cause for concern of safety for nearby residents. Plus there is no infrastructure to assist in their basic needs. It is just a pollution site.

(Garsfontein, Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#269

This site is turning the suburb into a garbage site. Increased risk of pollution and security is a big concern.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#275

It's looks like a dumping place. This need to be controlled.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#279

I am signing to get rid of the illegal recycling plant.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-20)

#287

It is my constitutional right to live in a clean and save environment

(Pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#288

I support the drive

(Pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#292

In belang van my gesin en gemeenskap wat negative beinvloed word deur hierdie tipe oortreding van die wet.

(PRETORIA, 2019-09-21)

#293

Our eastern suburbs are taken over by vagrants living on side walks, leaving their filth ant rubbish all over, trading next to our roads. They can do what they want and they are untouchable

(Pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#294

I'm against illegal operations.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#297

The squatters on Corner of Solomon Mhlangu and Delmas Road are contributing to crime in area. Furthermore we have paid a lot for our properties and this situation contributes to devaluation of our properties. There is no infrastructure for them and they should be removed.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#298

It looks filthy and discusting.

(Bapsfontein, 2019-09-21)

#299

Its filthy and unhygienic. no one is controlling the situation. PTPC has a solution! www.ptpc.co.za

(pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#303

This is not a regulated recycling site and it poses a health and security risk in our community. The entrance to this activities is also a big road safety hazard.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-21)

#307

What is happening is not sustainable, and serves as an incubator for crime.
Environmental disaster!

(Pretoria, 2019-09-22)

#312

Its becoming a major Health and Traffic issue

(Pretoria east, 2019-09-22)

#318

Nobody seems to see the irony of littering in a conserved area via the excuse of ‘recycling’. Save our environment, please!

(Pretoria, 2019-09-22)

#325

Unsightly, a blight on the landscape!

(Pretoria, 2019-09-23)

#327

This is unacceptable and it increases pollution, crime and a danger to motorists. If the Council dont remove this it will show they support this situation and will be held liable for all consequences.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-23)

#328

I live in this area and its not safe.
I understand the need for the people to recycle and it does help all of us.
We just need to work with these people to make sure there is management

(Pretoria, 2019-09-23)

#332

I live in the area and have to drive past the horrific sight every morning and afternoon.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-23)

#339

This lligal recycling plant creates a health hazard and should be shut down immediately.

(Pretoria, 2019-09-24)

#342

It affects our area and safety

(Pretoria east, 2019-09-24)

#343

It is illegal and the people staying in the bushes near by is a health risk for us all and to themselves. Trolleys on the road to the open space is a danger to motorists and illegal.

(Tshwane, 2019-09-24)

#345

It is private land and now looking like a dumping site with illegal housing etc going up

(Pretoria, 2019-09-25)

#348

Dit veroorsaak meer inbraak en vrees vir ons veiligheid by ons eie huise..

(Elarduspark, 2019-09-26)

#351

This is such a sore eye for the community. It spread diseases. It boost the crime rate and it is really a problem with the traffic when the trolley pushers take over the road. They are trading illegally and the are residing there illegally.

(Wingatepark, 2019-09-28)

#352

It is a disgrace, a breeding place for trouble, danger to traffic and a major health, fire and pollution hazard.

(Erasmuskloof, 2019-09-30)

#355

Is there any official permit or licence awarded to use this PIC grounds as aindustrial recucling zone?
This is a health and environmental concern - as its becoming a dumping site. Not all garbage are taken away.
Is this not a criminal case or was the fence of PIC removed / damaged with PIC's permission?
There is now an entrance to the Wolwespruit area...and a plastic informal settlement is spreading rapidly in this Tshwane municipal conservation area..( i stand to be corrected)
I am just amazed that there is just open disregard for any authority,

and that the owners and authorities are so timid in handling the mandate they have to take care of the city in an orderly and regulated fashion.
Should the recycling companies also not take ownership?
Can we start dumping garbage just anywhere? - this seems to set the tone.
Is there not another organised and regulated way that these (i assume) informal workers can be given a site where to do their sorting?

(Pretoria, 2019-10-03)

#356

It is a concern for safety as well as informal settlement without proper toilets and running water. Risk of pollution and rubbish breeding ground for rats

(Pretoria, 2019-10-04)

#357

It is an illegal garbage dumping site .. whether it is plastic paper etc.
Disregard for municipal regulations.
Somebody apart from trolleypushers is benefitting ... like drugpushers.
Do we wait until we have a petition and then only pretend we are attending to the primary responsibilities of the Metro... or is the Metro Police taking bribes?
What about swift action before it becomes an issue.

(Pretoria, 2019-10-07)

#358

I’m signing because the illegal recycling plant is 1) illegal, 2) attracting and will become a breeding ground for rats etc, 3) the recyclers roaming the roads are a hazard to the motorists, 4) there has been an increase in beggars and other individuals of opportunity at the robots, 5) the recyclers are making a mess where they are recycling and 6) I believe that my right to a safe and clean environment has been violated. 7) my expectations is that they are removed, and made to pay for all costs incurred for the cleanup. They are most probably a non registered income generating business that’s also most likely not paying any tax as well.

(Pretoria, 2019-10-11)

#360

This operation is not only illegal but getting out of hand with what looks to be the start of a squatter camp.
This will also devalue the properties that law-abiding tax-paying citizens have worked hard for.

(Pretoria, 2019-11-06)
