animal abuse is gateway to the abuse of children, senior citizens, and any dependant individual. It is imperative that we form a registry for the purpose of knowing who these abusers are. Animals have never "asked" to be mistreated by human beings. This registry will be a voice for the voiceless.

I live in Iowa and have fostered neglected/abused dogs through rescues, as well as cats through CBHS. Iowa is 49th in the nation concerning legislation to protect and defend companion animals. Our legislatures need to stop fixating on the myth that humane legislation is a slippery slope that will adversely affect CAFOs. This a separate issue that demands attention and resolution.

I had signed a petition with (for) the ARL of Iowa a few months ago. I even e-mailed two of my senators. I live in Henry County. I never heard back from them. Iowa is ranked 48 or 49th for having the worst of no punishment for animal cruelty. The animal (pets) cruelty has to be stopped. It upsets me so much! It doesn't leave my mind! My heart breaks for them. We have to speak up for the animals for they do not have a voice! We are their voice!

I have a Miniature Schnauzer (Cooper) and Blue Heeler (Bella) who are my life, they are my children and I will protect them just like I would a child.
