Comments

#3001

I hate to see animals frightened by fireworks. We have a duty to look after them.

Philip Waters (Camberley, 2020-10-21)

#3004

Fireworks are not fireworks anymore they are bombs, wildlife is petrifiied when they are set off, there is absolutely no need to have bombs going off at such high decibels, our previous pet dog died soon after having a heart attack during New years Eve firewwork celebrations, only mindless morons can possibly enjoy bang after bang.

Christopher Jones (Liverpool, 2020-10-21)

#3005

Poor animals frightened to death 😡no need for it
Not pretty fireworks any more sound like bombs going off

Sue Shinn (West Midlands, 2020-10-21)

#3006

Firework displays are completely unnecessary, and cause such a huge amount of distress in animals. It's ridiculous that a so called modern country still holds on to such distressing and antiquated practices. Please modernise and stop causing livestock and pets such anxiety and stress.

Richard Kent (Linlithgow, 2020-10-21)

#3007

Its time to stop celebrating the failure of a plot to blow up parliament.

Too much damage is done to people, property and animals.

Tex Everett (Ashburton, 2020-10-21)

#3012

I think we should protect the animals close by to us

Julie Dewing (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3017

Fireworks cause such misery for many people and animals. They should be banned.

Elaine Hanna (Preston, 2020-10-21)

#3018

It should not be here where there are risks to livestock and animals in close proximity. Hold it some where more suitable!

Karen Purdy (Clacton, 2020-10-21)

#3026

I have become aware of the impact fireworks, the noise and lights have a serious detrimental effect on animals and should now be discontinued

Susanne Olanczuk (Beccles, 2020-10-21)

#3028

Of course it should be relocated, it's the most inappropriate location with wide-ranging, possibly long-term effects. Please take notice of this request to move it.

chris jones (Ellesmere Port, 2020-10-21)

#3030

Too many animals nearby affected

Juliette Fryatt (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#3033

There is so much stress caused to animals on fire work night, and they can’t get away from them!

Tina Abrehart (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#3034

I hate fireworks and the damage they do to the environment. Think of the poor animals

Belinda Tinkler (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3039

Its wrong ,you should not have fireworks near to any animals. Disgusting no thought at all. Ban them all.

Sue Filtness (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3040

Too close to animals and main road, no toilet facilities (hedge).

Lynda Moules (Little Clacton, 2020-10-21)

#3044

Time has moved on, remembering 1605 is pretty well irrelevant. It is a fact that animals and birds are terrified of fireworks. I also know someone who has had her hearing permanently damaged by a firework let off within a few feet.

Francis Henderson (Folly Gate, 2020-10-21)

#3049

There are a lot of horses nearby to the site, some pregnant mares. Firework pose a very real threat to these animals and from what O understand there has been zero consultation with the landowners around the site.

Aimee Carr (Clacton On Sea, 2020-10-21)

#3055

Peoples animals

Samantha Moorcroft (Uk, 2020-10-21)

#3058

This site is far to close to animals

Hayley Dean (Thorpe Le Soken, 2020-10-21)

#3059

I’m signing this as in this close area there are farms where many animals reside in fields.
They will suffer due to the proximity of the fireworks. Another more suitable site should be found urgently. They intend to display the
fireworks over 2 nights which will be a nerve
racking experience for these poor livestock.
Please do your best to find a suitable site which will ensure these animals are safe.
Thank you

Christine Tallent (Feltham, Middlesex, 2020-10-21)

#3062

Animals do not like fireworks!
It scares them very much!
It is very unfair for them to have to put up with these awful, horrible, scary sounds!!!

Robert Noto (Geneseo, 2020-10-21)

#3065

It’s a criminal offence to let fireworks off in close proximity to animals

Joanna Dedr (Dedross, 2020-10-21)

#3067

This will harm/kill our livestock at Hawk farm. Hawk Farm is a learning centre for adults with disabilities, they will be heartbroken to lose our animals. We are right door door to this event. We have over 100 animals here on site.

Quila Sadler (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3069

I dont agree with the fireworks

Rodney Mason (Braintree, 2020-10-21)

#3071

My disable goes to this farm and have many horses and pets there

Jayne Hersey (Clacton, 2020-10-21)

#3074

I love animals and I myself have horses

Joanne Derrick (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#3075

I know first hand the damage that can be done to horses & livestock when they are frightened to death by fireworks. It's heartbreaking.

Margaret Frere (Great holland, 2020-10-21)

#3076

Serious danger to surrounding equestrian businesses. Fireworks kill horses every year and the proposed site is surrounded by horses

Dillon Brown (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-21)

#3077

Horses should not be suffering from the trauma and stress caused by fireworks.

Michele Bragg (Braintree, 2020-10-21)

#3078

I’m signing because of the horses and other animals nearby so selfish

Beverley Williams-fisher (Walton on the naze, 2020-10-21)

#3080

This is not a suitable site being in direct opposition to animal welfare with the businesses in proximity to the proposed site. Animals will be put in danger and businesses affected.

Marie Maynard (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#3081

Horses graze and are stabled on the doorstep

Teresa Endean (COLCHESTER, 2020-10-21)

#3085

There are many stable yards and live stock far too close for this event. Animals die

Zena Hepburn (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3086

I am concerned about animal welfare and I do not believe the local
Residents with animals have been consulted or the relevant licences obtained.

Louise Weston (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-21)

#3087

The animals that are to close to fireworks display
Stress to animals

Madalaina Redshaw (Frating Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#3088

I have horses and live stock in the Area and I am worried sick as they are all so scared of fireworks. Also so worried about all other horses and live stock in the Area think this should be stopped!! Other should Consider all the poor animals

Sarah Player (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-21)

#3094

This is a a danger to all the animals around here

Sian Fretwell (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#3097

This isn’t licensed and there is livestock within close proximity who will be severely distressed!

Amy Rollings (Chelmsford, 2020-10-21)

#3098

This event needs to be stopped it will cause so much suffering to all the animals nearby!!

Thalia Dale (Harwich, 2020-10-21)

#3099

This event is harmful to neighbouring live stock

James Cornelius (Clacton-On-Sea, 2020-10-21)

#3105

Because there is a lot of livestock and horses surrounding this event which can have a massive impact on them. Horses are flight animals and fireworks can cause them to run blind and can cause burn injuries

Mikki Turton (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#3115

Fireworks are absolutely terrifying to animal. My dog won’t go out at all after about 5 o’clock now and I know a lot of people who have the same problem. Please as an animal lover stop the firework displays.

Liz Preston (Cheltenham, 2020-10-21)

#3117

I am a pet owner and animal lover , and the terror that fireworks inflicts on animals is unjustifiable. It has become like a war zone with the loudness of the bangs.

Katrina Young (Norwich, 2020-10-21)

#3119

I want the sale of fireworks to the public to stop completely. Pets and wildlife are terrorised by all the loud noises and bright light.

Jane burkinshaw (Exeter, 2020-10-21)

#3120

I have always thought that fireworks should be banned. Too many idiots out there. Poor animals go into panic mode for what?

Jasmina Pember (BEVERLEY, 2020-10-21)

#3121

I love all animals fireworks are harmful

MaryAnn Monaghan (Blyth Northumberland, 2020-10-21)

#3122

No way there are animals to think of here, not acceptable to frighten the life for a few minutes pleasure!!

Fiona Cooke (Warrington, 2020-10-21)

#3123

Animals don’t have a voice..
We must speak up for them.
We must also speak up for vulnerable people.
Most children love fireworks.
The aim is not to be a killjoy, but simply respect those creatures & people & hold the display in a more appropriate setting.

Maxeen Subbhan (Shetland Islands, 2020-10-21)

#3129

Fireworks can have a devastating effect on animals. Only last year I signed a petition to control the use of fireworks after a young pup suffered a fatal cardiac arrest due to the horrendous noise. Please consider relocating this firework display so that it cannot disturb or frighten animals

Wendy Johnson (YORK, 2020-10-21)

#3131

Fireworks and farms/animals are not compatible. Highly dangerous and life threatening for the animals.

Elizabeth Crosland (Leeds, 2020-10-21)

#3132

Fireworks should be banned near animals and should not be on sale to the public

Frances Mann (Chesterfield, 2020-10-21)

#3142

Livestock, domestic pets must be protected first. My cats are terrified when fireworks are let off in local gardens (which now can seem to happen on any day of the year) and hide for hours.

Emma Davidson (London, 2020-10-21)

#3143

I think this should definitely be stopped.

Julie Davies (Nottingham, 2020-10-21)

#3145

Animals can suffer extreme fear from fireworks & can't understand that they will not be harmed. It is inhuman to subject them to this just for humans' enjoyment.

Anne Cusack (Worksop, 2020-10-21)

#3146

Poor animals..Please convince the organisers to have their fireworks display somewhere else where they can do no harm to defenceless animals.

Margaret Smyth (Ardrossan, 2020-10-21)

#3147

Its cruel

Susie Knight (Walton on naze, 2020-10-21)

#3150

I can't believe, despite fantastic campaigning, that animals and people are still suffering the effects of fireworks - many in a very serious way.

Catherine Fudge (Leamington Spa, 2020-10-21)

#3158

Scares Animals

Russell Weller (Little Clacton, 2020-10-21)

#3162

I am signing because there is no need for fireworks to make loud bangs, the silent ones already exist and can be just as effective. Let's look after our animals and the countryside.

Rita Zago (Stratford-upon-Avon, 2020-10-21)

#3163

Fireworks are distressing to animals. 5 mins of entertainment but the potential of death for terrified animals in distress. They are childish and should be banned

Angie Day (Harrow, 2020-10-21)

#3165

I'm signing because l know how frightened animals are of fireworks my dog is petrified Fireworks should not be set off near animals or close to houses

Lori Fielding (CHORLEY, 2020-10-21)

#3174

I love animals

Claire Pooley (Harwich, 2020-10-21)

#3177

I love animals and don’t want them to be harmed or frightened

Belinda Wardle (Durham, 2020-10-21)

#3179

The constant noise alone causes too much suffering and anxiety on domestic pets , farm animals and wildlife, not to mention the awful smell in the air following these firework displays. We are supposed to trying to improve our quality of air, fireworks only contribute more contamination, the cost of these firework displays would be better spent on a worthwhile charity event.

Deborah Ralph (Worcestershire, 2020-10-21)

#3181

I know what it's like to have a dog who petrified of fire works. It's just not fare for all those animals.

Maria Smart (Clydebank, 2020-10-21)

#3182

If the distress this causes to animals

Carolyn Terry (Holland on Sea, 2020-10-21)

#3183

I have rescue animals that suffer for weeks every year because of people having fireworks ..

Vanessa starkie (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-21)

#3184

The animals cannot speak up for themselves in advance. I shout out on their behalf

marilyn matthieson (glastonbury, 2020-10-21)

#3193

Fireworks are dangerous especially in the hands of yobs. The sale to the public should be banned

Renate Chappell (london, 2020-10-21)

#3194

i prefer animals too people

shelley knight (vange basildon essex, 2020-10-21)

#3196

I do not believe that fireworks should be in sale to the general public not should they be allowed to cause a nuisance to people in their homes. Too many animals and people are hurt emotionally or physically due to the mis use of fireworks

Rachel Taylor (Lincoln, 2020-10-21)

#3197

Fireworks are widely misused and animals shouldn’t be made to suffer

Julie Biddle (Manchester, 2020-10-21)

#3198

This is exactly what we keep trying to avoid, animals/wildlife are not taken into a account and they should be, it terrifies them

Sally Norfolk (Ipswich, 2020-10-21)
