The waste in the area is never collected on time and days later. This past summer we had the worst flies due to the dump not being emptied and managed correctly. The dump in the area never looks well managed and doesn't feel safe. It is also full more often that not preventing anyone from dumping there.

The vermin infestation (rats, mice, flies, maggots, etc.), general security hazard because refuse bins are left outside 24/7 (because no one knows when refuse collection may / may not occur) is both a public health catastrophe and a security risk..... not what I pay municipal rates and taxes for!!!!!!

I pay R1000 per month in rates to a metro, which forces me to buy extra rubbish bags each month,to clean the street outside my home where others dump trash. It costs more money for fly spray to rid my house of flies breeding out of the black bins that Metro cannot service. I pay even more money on rat poison, because the rats are infesting us from a school opposite, where the skips are not regularly emptied. The rats infestation has cost us thousands to replace, due to DSTV, BURGLAR ALRAMS, SECURITY LIGHT cables in my roof being chewed through by rats. The people who run our metro, surely lack the skills or interest to do so.

The refuse Removal is never collected on the scheduled day(Thursdays) and causes a lot of frustration and time wasting to take out trolley every morning, and keep a close watch on the trolley, as people steal the trolley, bring in the trolleys(uncollected) after 18:00 every day in the hope it will be collected! This exercise usually continue for four days and collected on sundays. To top it all my trolleys are taken to a common assembly point, mixed with other trolleys, and then I am expected to collect my trolleys 30meters away and bring them back! This is unacceptable service and not what I pay for. If this 'job' of collecting refuse is too complicated to manage, I suggest we withhold payment and appoint a contractor that is willing to deliver a proper service and paid accordingly. Trolleys must stay in front of each premises as they have individual serial numbers with registered owners.!
