STOP WEELEY FIREWORKS! SAVE THE LIVESTOCK AND ANIMALS

#2601

This is appalling disregard of animal welfare purely for the pleasure of humans who think they’re the only ones with ‘rights’.
If fireworks must be allowed they need to be a considerable distance from poor defenceless animals who have no understanding of the horrific noise.

Karen Spruce (Glossop, 2020-10-21)

#2602

This must not go ahead with so many animals around this field. Already they are going off around me & my dog & cat have had to have medication as they are so stressed because of it. At least I can hold my animals & comfort them but farm animals have nothing to protect them.

Barbara Hanway (Bolton, 2020-10-21)

#2608

It is not fair that innocent animals are terrified by fireworks. People can move to a better location and also understand that there is no danger, these animals don't. Don't make the animals suffer for your entertainment.

Jaymee Ricketts (Rio Rancho, 2020-10-21)

#2612

A few hours of enjoyment at the cruel expense of animals, who can not stand up for themselves the owners should be ashamed

susan clark (Bodmin, 2020-10-21)

#2613

fireworks should only be used on or within one weekend of November 5th. Keep our pets safe.

Stephen Barton (DERBY, 2020-10-21)

#2616

Much as I enjoy fireworks, there's a time and place - somewhere surrounded by farms and livestock is not an appropriate place. It would be better moved to a more urban setting, with local consultation.

Tina Harrison (Leeds, 2020-10-21)

#2617

This is happening too near to livestock and wild animals.

John King (Wirral, 2020-10-21)

#2620

I'm signing because I care about the wellbeing and safety of the animals close by to where this event is being held. Also, elderly, people with heart problems and those who suffer with PTSD will also be terrified. If canceling this event is not possible then, why not move the event to somewhere else away from those animals and the people I've mentioned in this letter. That way you get to enjoy your display and the animals and others will be grateful.

Carol Smalley (Newcastle-under-Lyme, 2020-10-21)

#2623

I care about animals, which many people apparently don't! I have two rescue dogs who are terrified of fireworks.

Lynne Littlejohn (Broadstairs, 2020-10-21)

#2626

Fireworks cause much distress to pets, veterans & the elderly.....although some of these effects can be managed for one evening - IF plenty of notice is given. Livestock & wildlife are a completely different issue, it is irresponsible and cruel to plan firework displays near livestock on one occasion, let alone two consecutive nights.

Christiann Plum (ASHFORD, 2020-10-21)

#2629

Its time people realised that animals and fireworks DO NOT GO TOGETHER!! Who ever started this nonsense????? STOP ALL DISPLAYS NEAR CAPTIVATED ANIMALS AND WILDLIFE

maria Rollason (CHELMSFORD, 2020-10-21)

#2631

I am signing this because I believe the fireworks will have a terrible effect on animals and vulnerable people in the vicinity.

Olivia Richardson (Teddington, 2020-10-21)

#2636

This sounds dangerous to livestock and other animals. Also, people should not be gathering duing the current pandemic.

Anita Roberts (Corwen, 2020-10-21)

#2643

I don't like this sort of thing, it's really bad for wild creatures as well as pets and livestock.

Steve Warren (Brechin, 2020-10-21)

#2646

Animals are terrified of the noise of fireworks and having a large display near livestock is cruel and dangerous. One of my dogs is so scared of them to such an extent she pants and paces and tries to dig her way under the floor.

Saskia Sarginson (LONDON, 2020-10-21)

#2648

The fireworks extravaganza is clearly in totally the wrong place. It would be better to have it moved. I suffer from PTSD myself and find fireworks very problematic. Plus the animals will suffer and that's unfair.

The enjoyment of some should not mean misery and anxiety for others.
I support this petition.

Lindsay Mann (Bournemouth, 2020-10-21)

#2652

I care for the well being and the tranquillity of all animals.
Fireworks are senseless and frightening to the poor helpless animals. Therefore stop all fireworks !

Romy AaFf (Antwerpen, 2020-10-21)

#2653

It's very dangerous, it traumatises animals, be they on a farm, in the wild or in homes. It is a total waste money and is bad for the environment.

Kim Bateman (Culverstone, 2020-10-21)

#2655

Not fair for animals living in the area (or people). Totally unnecessary.

Amanda Carey (Leominster, 2020-10-21)

#2658

Doesn’t matter where it is, Animals should NOT be scared by idiot Humans ‘enjoying’ themselves. It’s sick, selfish and cruel.

#2670

I AM SIGNING AS ALL ANIMALS ARE SCARED THEY WILL PANIC AND BOLT IT WILL BE EVEN WORSE FOR THE ANIMALS THAT ARE PREGNANT AND CAN CAUSE TRAUMATIC MISCARRIAGES
Weeley boot sale field has adjoining farms and livestock housing and is in close proximity to residential housing , stables( that I personally know have pregnant mares in at this time ) and well within earshot of domestic pets, many of whom are terrified by fireworks .
There are also many elderly people who have no desire to be disturbed by this earth shaking event at night, not to mention a number of PTSD sufferers , who find fireworks unimaginably difficult to cope with .
It is unlikely that this event has been properly licensed or insured or even registered with the local police, council or fire brigade.

Susan Ashton (Poulton, 2020-10-21)

#2671

I don't like to think of animals being terrified by these loud fireworks. This is not an appropriate site. Also why on 2 nights? One is more thanenough.

Vicki Graver (Robertsbridge, 2020-10-21)

#2673

I am signing because the distress to animals these events will cause are immeasurable.

Helene Simpson (Soudley, 2020-10-21)

#2677

I believe the only fireworks that should be permitted - if any - are officially registered displays. If your description is accurate, this event should be banned, and I can't believe your local police will permit it. I'm not local to you, so the best I can do is offer this expression of support.

Michael Wadsworth (Chislehurst, 2020-10-21)

#2679

no animal should be made to suffer why not have silent ones

Christine briggs (Northumberland, 2020-10-21)

#2682

I'm concern about animals rigths

Daniel Tejada (Lima, 2020-10-21)

#2685

Modern fireworks have become very powerful and loud. In fact they are quite terrifying - for people and for pets and other animals. They are already being let off in my local area. I don't want to be a killjoy but would much prefer that fireworks are restricted to professional displays.

Lynda Hogger (Telford, 2020-10-21)

#2686

I am sick of the complete oversight of animal welfare considerations and lack of planning control and regulation over this annual ‘event’. The distress to animals and their owners and indeed anyone who cares about for wildlife and pets is disturbing.

Renee Allen (Bedford, 2020-10-21)

#2691

I care about the welfare of horses

Gail Jeffrey (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#2692

This firework display is so distressing for all animals and wild birds and ultimately can be dangerous. It shows no respect for them.

Dora Webb (Dartford, 2020-10-21)

#2693

This will cause hours of terror for so many animals, whether wild or domestic.

Fiona Crookes (Lanner, 2020-10-21)

#2695

Its out of order

David Lane (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#2699

There should be strict regulation of Fireworks. Currently they are more like weapons than fun. How much longer do we go on with this torture to wildlife and domesticated animals, when so many young are not aware of what it supposedly celebrates? It is outdated and dangerous.

helen kerrigan (LIVERPOOL, 2020-10-21)

#2700

I ma concerned about the terrible effect fireworks have on pets, farm and wild animals.

Patricia Mortlock (Burnham-on-Crouch, 2020-10-21)

#2701

I’m a horse owner too our land is a couple of miles from the intended site, but feel for it’s immediate neighbourhood which I know is full of animals

Sheila Struth (Tendring, 2020-10-21)

#2705

Fireworks are a safety risk! Animals warrant protection

Dee Thethi (Farnham, 2020-10-21)

#2706

Fireworks should only be displayed in safe settings and operated by competent people.

Daniel Kelly (Heswall, 2020-10-21)

#2708

This should be banned across the country an absolute waste of money .
It does nothing but scare children and animals . Completely outdated

Kate rea Rea (Lanarkshire, 2020-10-21)

#2709

There are too many displays and not enough though for the pets and other animals

Paul Harrow (Huddersfield, 2020-10-21)

#2711

I’m horse owner
We need to stop this kind of thing

Jacqueline Kiddie (Little Clacton, 2020-10-21)

#2713

I am signing because I am an animal lover to every animal out there! I have pets of my own that can come in to the warmth when these displays take place. But these poor animals are outside constantly and will develop serious anxiety with the loud noises. I disagree with displays being held within areas of animals!

Jenny King (Welwyn garden city, 2020-10-21)

#2714

It’s too close to livestock

Holly Milnes (Essex, 2020-10-21)

#2722

I do not agree with firework displays being held near any animals or houses as it is very distressing to animals and vulnerable people

Linda Phillips (Telford, 2020-10-21)

#2724

I'm signing because animals suffer terribly from the fireworks some die of heart attacks. If you want fireworks display find somewhere far from animals

David Duruty de Lloyd (Coleford, 2020-10-21)

#2725

Animals are terrified of fireworks. They should never be sold to the public, and should only be let off by reputable organisations, safely away from animals.

Sonia Waddell (Manchester, 2020-10-21)

#2740

it shouldn't be allowed near animals

Terry Bennett (Great Oakley, 2020-10-21)

#2741

Fireworks terrify animals, they dont understand, and wildlife also, any animal, bird will be terrified when suddenly bangs and flashes start, and continue randomy into the night, and often night after night. this needs to stop.

marie butler (southampton, 2020-10-21)

#2749

Fireworks cause untold suffering for pets & livestock

Peter Etherington (Church Village, 2020-10-21)

#2750

There are too many animals located in close proximatey to the field in which the firework display is going to take place.

Barbara Duke (Colchester, 2020-10-21)

#2755

Sick of animals being scared to death -sometimes literally-by these nuisance gunpowder explosions every year!

Jacky Westoby (Brough, 2020-10-21)

#2759

This is irresponsible and not putting the welfare of animals before money!

Vanessa Mitchell (Fordingbridge, 2020-10-21)

#2766

Because I'm fed up with knowing that animals fear them. They have heightened senses to us and I see it first hand via my cats.

Sharon Bevan (Nottingham, 2020-10-21)

#2767

This scares animals and is not acceptable

Don Nagle (Killarney, 2020-10-21)

#2768

Is it right to be holding such an 'event' during this Covid crisis, and is it right that the organisers have no concerns for livestock and pet owners plus vunerbale people? Disgusting!

Sandra Jones (Shrewsbury, 2020-10-21)

#2770

Animals are terrified by fireworks

Christine Beebe (Cambs, 2020-10-21)

#2771

Fireworks have no place near vulnerable animals or people. I am concerned that pregnant mares will be distressed by this plan and it could cause them to abort, losing nor only the foal but their own lives. Please do not go ahead with this.

Dee Collins (Ashford, 2020-10-21)

#2772

Pollution and unethical

Paul Chant (Glastonbury, 2020-10-21)

#2773

In these uncertain times we do not want to encourage lots of people to meet up together. Also its cruel to wild life and domestic animals

Rachel Kay (Redruth, 2020-10-21)

#2775

The poor animals are frightened and don't have a voice. We should speak for them to stop this please

Linda Airey (Lancaster, 2020-10-21)

#2780

I'm signing this petition because I spent years nursing my terrified dogs for a couple of weeks each year, from the sudden noise and aromas of fireworks. It was awful for them and my life outside of work was put on hold. If things happened when I was not at home, I got a sense of just how scared the dogs were - doors were deeply scratched and paintwork damaged, clothes damaged, they peed on the mattress and we're visibly trembling when I got home or after I had gone to bed. Please, please listen. Licence fireworks or go back to the origins of "bonfire night (no longer just one night). It's the 21st century. Do we still need to commentate these events? I can't imagine how much worse it is for livestock. I was able to comfort my dogs.

Deborah Cahour (London, 2020-10-21)

#2785

Animals have feelings and get very scared at loud noises/bangs etc. They do not understand fireworks and some will bolt/run away or even die from shock, please stop this- it’s like shell shock to them 😢

Sarah Wilson (Bideford, 2020-10-21)

#2786

I care about the animals and livestock nearby

sarah dickens (Edenbridge, 2020-10-21)

#2789

My Westie is petrified of them.
He literally locks into a trembling wreck so please consider other animals like Max

Jacqui Farthing (Carlisle, 2020-10-21)

#2795

Fireworks really scare animals, are wasteful of resources and totally unnecessary

Jo Ellis (Llangollen, 2020-10-21)

#2796

Animals do not need this noise and disruption!
Is this display in the spirit of the power of 6 anyway? This is an event that should be cancelled!

Mary Kernick (Peterborough, 2020-10-21)

#2798

This is not appropriate, with so many animals nearby. It is not justified, for a few minutes of human ‘entertainment’ to frighten and confuse animals.
