STOP WEELEY FIREWORKS! SAVE THE LIVESTOCK AND ANIMALS

I don't think bonfires/fireworks and the associated noise, bad behaviour and real fear surrounding bonfire night, should be inflicted on the general public. Every single year there are stories of people being hurt and pets, horses and wildlife, not just frightened but maliciously hurt. I think a ban on this horrible night that now spreads itself over two weeks, is well overdue.Angela Appleford (Cheshire, 2020-10-21)

Fireworks are dangerous toys, they also make life miserable for animals and people with certain conditions or who have been living in a war zone. Laser exhibitions or quiet fireworks are the compassionate alternative.Janet Wellings (South Croydon, 2020-10-21)

Unfortunately although it is a very nice gesture from the company that are planning this, as a pet owner whose dogs are petrified of fireworks, I can stay and support my pets. These animals that are in stables and loose in fields around the designated area do not have the understanding of what is happening to them please do not let more innocent animals be killed when realistically the fireworks could be at a different venue for everyone to enjoy.
Karey Lamb (Clacton-on-Sea, 2020-10-21)

Animals should.not be terrorised by other people’s enjoyment, just relocate the display.Margaret Hayes (Chorley, 2020-10-21)

Animal welfare should come before fireworks. Holding a fireworks display in a field surrounded by horses and other livestock is ill judged and selfish. Every year animals die around before night due to stress related illnesses and accidents from the fireworks l, as well as burns from firework debris falling on them and igniting their rugs. A more suitable location should be found near arable fields, not livestock fields.Jess Ball (Thorpe Le Soken, Essex, 2020-10-21)

Because their are to many horses and dogs in close proximity to this site.Rosemary Greig (Clacton on sea, 2020-10-21)

I’m signing because being a pet owner I know first hand the terror they face during fireworks events and that is with them being safe indoors with a lot of background noise ie tv and radios on. The fear that animals who live nearby and are outdoors must face is horrendous and doesn’t need to happen. This event can be held elsewhere where it won’t effect the animals as much. It’s animal cruelty 🥵Wendy Roper (Bristol, 2020-10-21)

Animals get very scared by fireworks and it’s not fair if the display can be done somewhere away from animals.Vickie Motley (Reading, 2020-10-21)

It is cruel, selfish, thoughtless and heartless and many vulnerable, helpless, abandoned animals are terrified of everything associated with fireworks, along with many vulnerable people. Please, please, find more suitable sites if fireworks have to be used. There are so many better ways to entertain.Jenny Marsden (Bolton, 2020-10-21)
#2467
This whole fireworks issue is just completely irrisponsible, who really wants to have extremely war like noises and explosives going off in their area.... There is just no need for such a crual nasty show of war like images, why not show a beautiful light show to rowing music..... Well we know why because it would not please the brain dead in our society who enjoy seeing people and animals cower in fear... Please please ban this show now.Debbie Stanley (Essex, 2020-10-21)

I’m signing this petition has I’m sick and fed up of hearing fireworks go off every night it’s terrifying to all farm animal. and house pets. Where I live fireworks have been going off every night all year even worse and for longer in lockdown don’t see why my cat should have to be on sensitives to keep her calm. A bout time this GOVERNMENT listened to people and make then illegal.Susan Crossley (Greater Manchester, 2020-10-21)

Animals can be terrified by fireworks so this should be cancelled and at this time people also need protecting from contracting the virus. Firework shows are not socially distanced.Hazel Croft-Phillips (Whiteley, 2020-10-21)
#2505
I find fireworks very distressingI fear for animals and people who suffer from post traumatic stress having been affected by war zones both past and present.
The fact that firework display organisers and sales of fireworks to the public do not even take this into consideration is apalling.
Craig Macleod (High Wycombe, 2020-10-21)

I hate the sound of fireworks and the fear, distress and injury in causes animals. There are so many farm animals, domestic and horse stables near this site.Naomi Spindley (Essex, 2020-10-21)
#2508
Fireworks traumatise pets, wildlife and many elderly people or those suffering with special needs and dementia. Modern fireworks are increasingly like explosives and are sold indiscriminately to individuals and Organisations that set them off randomly and for periods of time far longer than bonfire night. Celebrating with an effigy on top of a bonfire is barbaric. Some people enjoy fireworks but that does not justify the terror that they cause.Wendy Harris-Weaving (Liverpool, 2020-10-21)
#2509
Fireworks should be banned due to animals being scared plus they're dangerous and constantly in the hands of people who are irresponsible. They're not needed for anything.Abbi Williams (Hereford, 2020-10-21)

It is totally irresponsible to hold for work displays so close to horses and domestic pets that will be terrified, and on two night as well? It’s wrong, just plain wrong!

There are houses close by, wild animals, stables and a cat and dog "hotel". All of these animals would suffer from the extreme noise and flashes. Local residents may be suffering from PTDS and other mental illness and it would cause them extreme distress.Andrea Buwalda (CLACTON-ON-SEA, 2020-10-21)

Many people, pets and livestock find the noise of these events distressing. This site is unsuitable and it is appalling that it is to take place for two nights. Has anybody considered the air pollution that will result ?JEAN Wilson (MALDON, 2020-10-21)

Fireworks cause distress to animals andshould be kept far away from them. Displays of fireworks are a very short-lived pleasure for humans but can cause lasting damage to animals. They are a complete waste of money as well.

Last November a similar fireworks display was held near some farms and a horse died in its stables with frightJohn Duffy (Broxburn, 2020-10-21)

Fireworks should be banned altogether as they are getting bigger and noisier each year. They are dangerous because they are small explosives and anyone can set them off. Please do not allow this event to happen.Elaine Wright (Verwood, 2020-10-21)

Fireworks have surely had their day given the fear and stress they cause. Our emergency services and animal welfare services are all under pressure and over worked and under funded as it is without the added call outs for firework related incidents.caroline Banham (ROTHERHAM, 2020-10-21)

Animal Welfare and Firework displays are not compatible at all. The distress to these innocent creatures by the close proximity of very loud explosions doesn’t bear thinking about. I’ve witnessed it with domestic pets who are so frightened and it’s unforgivable to be having to endure this. Young children and the elderly or vulnerable are absolute distraught. Also the air is polluted with acrid fumes so think again and make a kinder decision.Margaret Shea (London, 2020-10-21)
